How long well tennis elbow take to heal if not healing soon enough what to do I'm 31 years old.
Tennis elbow can take from two weeks to 3 months after initiation of treatment to heal. You need to avoid or reduce activities that produce the pain and take an nsaid as per your doctor's advice. Avoid activities that produce squeezing, springing movements or repetitive activities of the elbow and hand. Avoid lifting weight for a minimum of one month. A topical gel eg volini gel applied over the painful part can help. If the above do not help, you might need an injection on the painful area or an a key hole procedure in your elbow to debrided the painful portion. Hope that helps, regards.

Sciatica Pain and Ways to Deal With It

The sciatic nerve spreads down the spine till the legs. The pain in this nerve can feel like sparks running down your leg (by and large only each one in turn) or cause pain in the lower back. Anything that puts weight on or aggravates this nerve can cause pain that shoots down the back of one butt cheek or thigh. The amount of pain can increase gradually. Sciatica may feel like a gentle ache, a sharp sensation or extreme uneasiness. Sciatica can bring feelings of shivering, numbness and weakness.

Sitting, standing up, coughing, sneezing, lifting, or straining for a very long time, might aggravate pain. Now and then, individuals experience numbness or shivering in the leg, too.

Some of the most regular symptoms of sciatic pain include:

  1. Lower back pain
  2. Pain in the back or leg when sitting
  3. Hip pain
  4. Burning sensation in the leg
  5. Numbness or trouble moving the leg or foot
  6. Continuous pain on one side of the back
  7. Shooting pain that makes it hard to stand up properly

The most common causes of sciatic pain include:

  1. Lumbar spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal channel in the lower back)
  2. Degenerative disk sickness (breakdown of discs, which go about as pads between the vertebrae)
  3. Spondylolisthesis (a condition in which one vertebra slips over another)
  4. Pregnancy
  5. Muscle spasms

Some of the most effective exercises for sciatic pain relief are as follows:

  1. Pigeon Pose is a typical yoga posture. It attempts to open the hips. There are various types of this stretch. The first is the leaning back pigeon posture. If you are beginning your treatment, you have to attempt the leaning back posture first.
  2. While on the back, raise your right leg up to a right point and hold it with both hands behind the thigh and lock your fingers. Take your left leg and touch your lower leg against the knee. Hold the position for a minute.
  3. Sit on the floor with your legs stretched straight before you. At that point twist your right leg, putting your lower right leg on top of the left knee. Bend forward and incline your abdominal area toward your thigh. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds and after that switch sides.
  4. Kneel down on the floor on all fours. Get your right leg and bring it forward so that your lower leg is on the ground. Your right foot has to be ahead your right knee while your right knee stays to one side. Stretch the left leg out the distance behind you on the floor, with the top of the foot on the ground and toes pointing backwards.
  5. Lie on your back with your legs facing outward and your feet flexed upward.

Wrap your hands around your knee and delicately pull your right leg over your body toward your left shoulder. Hold it there for 30 seconds and afterward push your knee so your leg comes back to its initial position. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a orthopedist.

- take medicine for gout - also check for vit d deficiency - knee exercises- with knees straight and back supported keep towel roll under knees and press it for 30 sec and after it rekeive pressure. Do this for 10 times atleast for 2- 3 times daily - do contrast bath prior to exercise to releive muscle - ankle pumps - apply taping therapy to support her knees. Exercises change acc to gain in muscle strength. Tgere strengthening exercises by weight cuffs or by theraband .continue exercises throught out life as if your leave them after getting pain releive, your muscles will revert back. - you can also take us, ift by physio to releive pain.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hi, I am 22 years old and met with accident on 17 May, due to which I broke both the bones of my right leg and got operated. Now m having 2 plates in my leg and lot of staples. I am worried about removing the staples. Also what to eat so that I will not get any infection in that.

Skin staples are removed easily in the outpatients department. Its not as painful as the fracture you had in the first place anyway. As far as diet is concerned eat a balanced healthy diet rich in calcium. Diet does not cause any infection. Smoking and alcohol should be avoided at all costs.

Take cinnamon powder half a teaspoon with honey in the morning in empty stomach for at least one month. At 11 am take ginger juice with honey for 4 days. Can be solved through acupressure/ acupuncture easily. Try this for 3 days. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening.

Sir, If pain is not reducing, in fact increasing then quit gym for a while. Give your body rest for at least 5 days. Sometimes due to weight lifting muscles get strained.
