For the last 2 days the index and middle finger of my left hand are slightly swollen. I do not remember having physically injured them, then what could be the possible reason? What should I do? Should I observe them for a few more days and then decide?

Goodevening your acl tear injury should not be ignored. Make sure you spend about half hour on the exrercises for the knee. You could start with knee bending exercises and then progress to straight leg raising exercises. All this will help you to improve your strength on the knee. Then you could also do with a improving on your quadriceps and hamstring muscles. Make sure you wear a knee cap while you are playing any sport. This will support your knee very well.

Calf muscle pain is quite common issue in this kind of situation. Start calf muscle streanthening exercise. If you feel good, continue that or go for a foot x-ray. We can discuss the matter after the exercise.

I am lady aged 47 years, suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for the last 10 years. Taking medicines as prescribed by my doctor. The medicines are alfa calanm, naproxen tablets ip 500 once daily (when pain and swelling). This I am taking after completing medicine course of hcqs. I am still having pain and swelling on my finger joints. Please suggest some remedy ?

l if you are a known case of rheumatoid arthritis these are not the medications you should be on. Naprosyn on long term is not good nor would it help control the disease. You need the medications for rheumatoid to control the disease do let me know your location so I can guide you to a rheumatologist regards

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It may have to be further investigated. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again. Contact your family doctor or nearest hospital for emergency help.

Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

My dad is having cervical myelopathy, neurogenic bladder, severe constipation, are on catheter, numbness in arms and other problems. And also now they are in severe depression and tried to attempt suicide 2 times. What to do? Doctors said operate for cervical but dad fear from operate, and also mentally he can't able to think about it. They only talk about their present problems and wanna have suicide. What to do doctors? Operate is also needed fast as per doctors, but also there is depression that stopping. Please give your opinion all doctors.

Clinical depression in any neurological patient is common. Since your father tried to attempt suicide also, it is severe depression. He needs antidepressant treatment. It will take around 3 weeks for him to improve and agree for surgery. The surgeons will wait since they want your dad to improve after operation. With depression even after operation, the improvement will be slow. Please request your neurosurgeon only to find a psychiatrist for your dad at the earliest. Otherwise you can also find one in online site. Please don't leave him alone at any time. Remove all objects which he can take to attempt like tablets, knife, etc.

: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
