I am suffering from cough and cold from last nights due to cool night. My throat is paining.
1. Gargling is the best solution. Gargle with warm salt water 3 to 4 times daily. This will releive throat pain and cough 2. Do steam inhalation to get relief from cold 3. Have two cups of warm herbal tea to get relief from cough and cold.

Having sores inside mouth and tongue and constipation what medicine should I take?

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
Would you little elaborate like, when and how it started, how long, positions of ulcers, your personal habit of food, occupation - these may help to arrive at some diagnosis. What I can gather you are obese and possibly do not do any physical. What I suggest are: 1) Start brisk walking at least 5 km daily. Do physical exercise like abdominal crunches and all others. 2) Take plenty of oral fluid (plain water) on regular basis. 3) Take high fibre food regularly. 3) Stop animal protein for about a month and stop high fat diet forever. 4) Once or twice week Isogel Husk 3-4 tsp inthe evening with water and take about 300 ml of water immediately after that. Or Mucibeal 2 Tsp in the evening with water and same way followed by 300 ml of water. If your bowels are well clear twice a week, that is enough for your health. But avoid stool to get hard. Gradually withdraw Mucibeal as the condition is improved 5) Hexigel - can be applied locally on ulcers. Add fresh lemon juice at least of one lemon per day, in your diet list. 6) Vizylac - 1 cap twice daily after food for about two weeks.

2 Types Of Tonsillitis And Its Treatment!

Tonsillitis is a disorder of the tonsils present on the back of your throat. The tonsils acts as a defensive mechanism in the body as they prevent the body from infections. This is a contagious condition and can occur at any age. It is widely prevalent among school going kids.

Tonsillitis may be classified into two types:

  1. Chronic tonsillitis: This type of tonsillitis tends to last for an extended duration with symptoms of bad breath and tenderness in the lymph nodes.
  2. Recurrent tonsillitis: This is a form of acute tonsillitis which repeats itself over a year.

Causes: Tonsils prevent various virus and bacteria from entering the body through the mouth by producing antibodies. The tonsils, however, may become vulnerable to these infections. A virus that causes common cold or the bacteria that causes strep throat may result in tonsillitis. The most common cause of this disorder is the strep bacteria. School going children are especially vulnerable to this disorder because they are most prone to various infections.

The various viruses that may cause tonsillitis are:

  1. Enterovirus
  2. Herpes simplex virus
  3. Epstein-Barr virus
  4. Influenza virus
  5. Adenovirus
  6. Parainfluenza virus

Common symptoms:
The various symptoms of tonsillitis are

  1. Swallowing difficulties
  2. sore throat
  3. The sore throat may result in bad breath
  4. You may experience fever and chills
  5. Pain in the head, ear and stomach
  6. You may experience stiffness in the neck and the jaw
  7. Swollen tonsils with possible redness
  8. Changes in voice
  9. Symptoms of cold

Treatment: The treatment for tonsillitis is usually antibiotics and in some cases, tonsillectomy. The antibiotics help in getting rid of the bacterial infectionSurgery is only done in cases where tonsillitis is chronic in nature. It is important that you drink fluids and restrict smoking to prevent tonsillitis.

Why tonsillitis problem occur in adults. What precautions should be taken after surgery of tonsillitis.

Diploma - Diploma - OLO - Rhino-Laryngology

Tonsils are normal lymphoid organs present in our mouth -oropharynx to safeguard our aerodigestive tract from infections which will normally regress in size in adolescence disappear in adults. If it present even in adults it represents chronic source of infection from nose, dental, oral tissues. It has to be evaluated first before you plan for tonsillectomy. Once the source of infection is no more tonsils will disappear.

MS - ENT
ENT Specialist, Gandhinagar
Snoring: Snoring is mainly due to Vibration of Pharyngeal parts mainly soft palate parapharyngeal bands base of tongue, Adenoids and polyps in nose etc and also Deviated nasal septum plays the role. It is better to Go for sleep study test and Endoscopy of Nose and Throat in Awake and sleeping pt. Also MRI during sleep helps to come to Diagnosis. Sleep Ap machine can help the pt. Also surgery of Nasal polyp, Deviated Nasal Septum, Tonsils and Adenoids, Soft palate and Base tongue can help to cure or reduce the Snoring….
