Bathe the 'abscess' with a hot flannel four times a day. See your GP for antibiotics (such as co-amoxyclav if you are not allergic to penicillin). If the abscess is rather severe you need to attend an Eye Emergency Department: sometimes the abscess needs draining.

I have a problem with my eyes, can't see the distant objects clearly, what should I do?

I have a problem with my eyes, can't see the distant objects clearly, what should I do?
Hello most common cause for blurred vision is uncorrected refractive error consult local ophthalmologist and get eyesight checked there is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 19 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

I am using mobile phone and laptop too much and my eyes turns red what can I do to protect my eyes?

I am using mobile phone and laptop too much and my eyes turns red what can I do to protect my eyes?
While using mobile for long intervals continuously, eyes get exhausted. While using Mobile/Laptop make sure that the lightening in room is proper to reduce and negate the effects. You can also reduce the intensity of the Mobile/Laptop screen by attaching a filter or by getting an eye-friendly screen. Above all, one must try to reduce the amount of Mobile /Laptop usage or take frequent breaks. Dont use mobile /Laptop continuously for more than 15 minutes and most important dont use mobile/Laptop with low battery. The bright light of the mobile/Laptop screen gets more focused on our eyes and this causes dryness of the eyes and thus causing weakness of vision and eye and head pain. Homoeopathic medicine CINELUBE EYE DROPS ( HAPDCO) Pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

Hello, now you should use spectacles and take Ruta 30 ch , 3 drops twice daily for 15 days. Use CMD2 eye drops, 2 drop in each eye twice daily. Do the below given exercises to strengthen your ocular muscles. Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

My age is 27. I have been using contact lenses from last 10 years. My power is minus 4.5 on both eyes. Should I go for a laser surgery for a permanent solution. Are there any complications? Is Lasik surgery a good option?

If your power remains stagnant and there are no frequent changes then you can go for Lasik and if done by an experienced surgeon then there should be no complications. But yes there are always complications associated with any surgery. Which are occasional and rarely happens.

I have distorted vision due to intermediate uveitis. Is the distorted vision something that'll remain forever.

I have distorted vision due to intermediate uveitis. Is the distorted vision something that'll remain forever.
THe distorted vision will clear as the uveitis is healed. Intermediate, posterior, and pan-uveitis are often treated with injections around the eye, medications given by mouth, or, in some instances, time-release capsules that are surgically implanted inside the eye. Other immunosuppressive agents may be given. A doctor must make sure a patient is not fighting an infection before proceeding with these therapies.

How can I improve my eyesight. As I am daily using computer for at least 6 hours, my eyes has pain also.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
How can I improve my eyesight. As I am daily using computer for at least 6 hours, my eyes has pain also.
Hi. Let me enumerate the diet necessary for healthy eyes. (1) green leafy vegetables including spinach, sprouts, cabbage, beetroot. (2) fruits-blue-berries, black-berries, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi fruit, grapes, pineapple, pomegranate, grapes, guava. (3) dry-fruits: almonds, walnuts, apricots, dates. (4) cereals: oats, barley, millets. (5) drink a cup of green tea daily. (6) drink a glass of milk daily. I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers, mobile phones and books. Follow the rule of" 20" this means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care. Cheers.
