Hello, give him homoeo medicine: @ ignatia 30-6 polls thrice. Orally. @ five phos 6x-4 tbs, thrice, orally. Please, ask him to go for meditation to strengthen his brain, cells, tissues to get confident to talk to any body, boldly. Allow him to do whatever he likes to. Tk care.

Crocin or ibuprofen plus suspension less than 5 ml at a time may reduce symptoms of pain and fever to some extent and temporarily. Problem looks like some infection connected with throat with lymphnode child may require appropriate antibiotics on advise of a doctor on direct examination and proper diagnosis.

It is difficult to assess the type of rash (Pimples), black heads and texture of skin without seeing. At this age, hormonal changes occurs so these may be normal developmental phenomenon.

You should give weaning foods to your baby after the age of 6 months. You can give all home made foods, veg and non veg soups, fruit juices. Avoid sugar products.

Hello Dr. my son is 9 years old is suffering from bed wetting problems but only in night. I scolds him sometimes but he is not overcoming from this problem till now. What should I do please help and reply. Regards.

Scolding makes the condition worst. Stop scolding. Take it easy. If he has started bed wetting after dry period of 2-3 years after age of 3 years and urine R/E is normal, ask him to go bath room before retiring at about 10 O' clock. Do not make him conscious of his act and do not show your or any family member's unhappiness. I hope he may come out of this.

Complementary feeding

Complementary feeding / weaning should be started after 150 days of life.

Its better to start home prepared semi solids first. If you are not confident in preparing food initially you can give cerelac rice / cerelac wheat/ nestum rice etc.

Add a new food item only after trial of 3 days. I mean don't give new food everyday. Wait for any intolerance to a particular food.

Fruit juices orange, apple can be prepared at home and can be given from 7 months.

Mashed potato can be given by 7-8 months.

Egg can be give by 8-9 months. Give egg yolk initially and the egg white later.

My son (7 years) is adhd and mild auotium and taking acepta10 (1tab. At morning and half in the evening) and neurocetum (5 ml thrice a day). Still he is unable to concentrate in studies. Kindly advise any change in treatment.

Hello; first you have to stop giving him neurocetum or similar named syrup you are giving him. What is your son's weight & height? c. Atomoxetine (acepta) is a very good medication & we can increase its dose depending on your sons responses like studies, behavior in class etc. In addition, there are other good medications like methylphenidate, clonidine also which can be prescribed if required. Do revert back for further help. Good luck.

Hi My 1 year old baby got severe diaper rash after upset stomach and is not getting cured even after applying rash cream I have been cotton nappies as much as possible and also washing with lukewarm water please help

Clean the area with dettol water, then johnson baby wipe after each stool, apply ezinapi ointment twice daily for 10 days. If not cure even after this do stool test.

For a 9 month old child you need to give full family diet in semisolid consistency, less spicy and oily. Can give chapati, vegetables, rice n dal, khichdi, sheera, upma, idli, dosas, soups, milkshakes, mixed vegetable pulao. All fruits, mashed potato, paneer, cheeze. Dates and dryfruits with milk. Try any of these food items gradually and with patience. Do not hurry. Meal time should be very happy time. Enjoy seeing your child having a happy meal.

Hi lybrate-user, taking food for one doesn't matter if you are eating at least salads and fruits on other time. Body needs carbs, proteins as per your daily routine. If the daily activity is more and food intake is low it may create weakness and in long term may have bigger health issues. So keep track of your intake and activities along with good water intake and ample sleep. Feel free to ask more. Thanks.

Diabetes is something which has become so common over the past few decades and this is said to be a cause of worry as most people don't understand how to prevent and manage it. This has led to some myths, gaining more than their fair share of popularity. So, wouldn’t it be a good idea to get to know a little more so as to separate the myths from the facts?

  1. Weight & watch: One of the most common myths when it comes to diabetes is the belief that a person is going to have his or her life adversely affected if he or she is overweight. While it is true that being overweight happens to be one of the risk factors related to diabetes, it is important to keep in mind the fact that there are other risk factors which are responsible, as well. Some of these factors are age and family history, as well as the ethnicity of the person. Taking this into account, it should not come as too much of a surprise to know that there are quite a few people who are not overweight, but are still fighting diabetes.
  2. Packaged tricks: Considering the rise in the number of people who are suffering from diabetes, this has led to food being marketed specifically for their consumption. However, in reality, whatever represents a healthy diet is sufficient for a person who is diabetic. So a diet which does not have a high amount of saturated fats and trans fats and does not go overboard with starch and sugar, but features a fair amount of lean protein works well too. All the fancy diabetic food, which a person buys, is only likely to drive a great hole in the wallet and not have any additional health benefits. Therefore, the extra spending is nowhere close to being worthwhile and should be avoided.
  3. Fruits punch: Many people are of the opinion that it is the processed and sugary food items, which cause diabetes and this is true to a significant extent. However, some people are of the view that since fruit is natural, diabetics can eat as much of it as they like. This is where the thinking gets dangerous. Some fruits are rich in carbohydrates and so it should be consumed in a reasonable quantity, as part of the daily meal plan. After all, too much of any good thing is bad! If you feel excessive sleep or tiredness/ head spinning or vertigo like feeling you have to make sure you have no anaemia or hypothyroidism by doing a blood CBC & TSH and inform me directly 10 Study Tips to Improve Your Learning Study Tip 1: Underlining Underlining is one of the simplest and best known study tips. It’s easy to highlight the most significant parts of what you’re reading. One key sentence per paragraph and a few important phrases here and there. You can only retain a certain amount so it’s best to retain the most important information. Study Tip 2: Make your own note and taking notes is one of the most widespread study skills out there. Essentially the aim of note-taking is to summarise lectures or articles in your own words so you can easily remember the ideas. Study Tip 3: Mind mapping A good Mind map can save you many hours of study and further consolidate your knowledge for your exams. Mind Maps are an extremely versatile tools. They can be used for brainstorming, outlining essays or study topics and for general exam preparation, ExamTime offers the ability to create Mind Maps quickly and easily which makes them the ideal tool when it comes to exams. Study Tip 4: Flash cards:- Using these are a particularly effective method of learning when trying to assimilate different facts, dates, formulas or vocabulary. If you are getting distracted every five, you can’t possibly focus entirely on your work. Request that people don’t interrupt you when working on a big project. If you are required to answer phones and drop-in’s immediately, schedule work when the office is less busy. 2) Structure Your Environment The place you work can have an impact on your ability to focus. Try to locate yourself so you are facing potential distractions such as doors, phones or windows. This way you can take a glance to assess sounds that would otherwise break your focus. 3) Clarify Objectives Know what your goal is clearly before you start. If you aren’t sure what the end result is, the confusion will make it impossible to focus. 4) Divide Blobs. If you have a large project that needs work, clearly identify a path that you will use to get started working on it. If the sequence of actions isn’t obvious, it will be difficult to concentrate. Taking a few minutes to plan not only your end result, but the order you will complete any steps, can save hours in wasted thinking. 5) Know the Rules Get clear on what the guidelines are for the task ahead. What level of quality do you need? What standards do you need to follow? What constraints are there? If the rules aren’t clear from the outset, you will slip out of concentration as you ponder them later. 6) Set a Deadline Deadlines have both advantages and disadvantages when trying to force concentration. A deadline can make it easier to forget the non-essential and speed up your working time. If you give yourself only an hour to design a logo, you will keep it simple and avoid fiddling with extravagant designs. Time limits have disadvantages when they cause you to worry about the time you have left instead of the task itself. 7) Break down Roadblocks Roadblocks occur whenever you hit a tricky problem in your work. This can happen when you run out of ideas or your focus wavers. Break down roadblocks by brainstorming or planning on a piece of paper. Writing out your thought processes can keep you focused even if you might become frustrated. 8) Isolate Yourself Become a hermit and stay away from other people if you want to get work done. Unless your work is based on other people they will only break your focus. Create a private space and refuse to talk to anyone until your work is finished. Put a sign on your door to steer away drop-ins and don’t answer your phone. 9) Healthy Body, Sharper Mind What you put into your body affects the way you concentrate. Nobody would expect peak performance if they showed up drunk to work. But if you allow yourself to get chronic sleep deprivation, overuse stimulants like caffeine or eat dense, fatty foods your concentration will suffer. Try to cut out one of your unhealthy habits for just thirty days to see if there is a difference in your energy levels. I’ve found even small steps can create dramatic changes in my ability to focus. 10) Be Patient Before I write an article, I often sit at my desk for a fifteen or twenty minutes before I put finger on the keyboard. During this time I feel a strong urge to leave or do something else. But I know that if I am patient, I’ll stumble upon an idea to write about and enter a state of flow. Without a little patience, you can’t take advantage of flow when it rushed through you. If you need strong concentration I recommend periods of 90-120 minutes. Any less than that and you will waste too much time getting started before the flow can continue. More than this is possible to sustain focus, but you will probably benefit from a quick break. These are the general guidelines for concentration, studying well or doing your job. Regards.

Hello, The more you delay the more adamant your child will become to have your milk. Cease your milk completely and ensure you Start giving him other weaning foods.

I'm a 17 year old girl, in the last year of school. I regularly eat fried food, and processed item. Junk food is a major part of my diet. I don't exercise AT ALL. Now down to the symptoms: I was eating Smileys (frozen ready to eat-fried potato things), and a swallowed three of them very fast. Suddenly, my ears started popping, there was tightness in my chest, and I was unable to breathe. I could barely ask my friend for water. As soon as I had a sip, I felt better. However, my ears still feel weird. Please help.

Eating frozen food very quickly has led to your problem. Take some steam inhalation and you will feel better. The ear is probably blocked leading to this problem. It is advisable to start eating healthy foods and stop junk food. You will feel better
