PCOS can never be treated you have to manage it. Medications are very important to manage pcos and right diet is equally important which will give results. Includes good amounts of sprouts, green leafy vegetables in the diet. In pcos speeding up metabolism could be challenge. Include high proteins, water in your diet which will not only help boosting metabolism but also help losing weight.

A guideline for creating the best vegetarian diet for weight loss. Based on this, you can create your own diet plan as the food choices of each person may vary and the items available to you may be different from what mentioned here. Early Morning You can have any of the following items to start your day. 1 glass of lukewarm water with lemon juice added to it. This drink will have zero calories in it. You can add one teaspoon of honey to the above mix and have it in the morning. This combination is believed to burn the fat inside the body. 1 cup of green tea or black tea or black coffee without added sugar You can choose any of these for your diet plan or change the items daily to avoid monotony. Breakfast You can have a breakfast which contains less than 350 calories. Here are some options Two rotis along with half a cup lentil gravy or tofu gravy OR 1 quarter plate brown bread or broken wheat upma and a cup of low fat milk OR 2 Idlis and half a cup of sambar  and ½ cup of low fat milk Mid Morning Snack You can use boiled pulses, green salads, low- calorie fruits or nuts as a snack Take ½ cup melon/cucumber and carrot salad or 20 grapes or a fistful of peanuts/ almonds/ melon seeds. Make sure that the calorie consumption is between 50-70 calories. Lunch There are multiple options for vegetarian lunch. You can eat rotis with vegetables or go for brown rice and vegetable gravies or have some roti and rice, according to your preference. Make sure that the calories do not exceed 350 calories. Here are some suggestions for your best vegan diet for weight loss. 1 cup brown rice (not to exceed 200 grams cooked rice) and ½ cup mixed vegetable gravy along with one bowl mixed vegetable salad and 1 small bowl raitha or low fat curd. Ensure that the vegetables are cooked using low fat oil and without adding coconut. 2 rotis with ½ cup vegetable gravy of your choice and one small cup raitha or green salad. You can change the above menu to ½ cup rice, and one roti with vegetable gravy, if you prefer to eat both rice and roti for lunch. If you feel that your stomach is not full, try having some clear soup before having your lunch. Evening In the evening you can opt for any of these Green teaButtermilkSalted lime juiceHalf cup oats cooked in low fat milk or water If you prefer to eat some snacks, you can select any of the mid morning snack or can opt for a half cup of cooked pulses or beans. Dinner Start your dinner with any thin soup. You can eat 2 rotis or one quarter plate upma or 3 slices of brown bread or one bowl of oats at night along with ½ cup vegetable and 1 bowl of salad. You need to consume high fibre foods such as whole fruits, vegetables, flaxseeds, chia seeds. Consume high protein foods such as soyabean, tofu, milk, chenna, sea fishes, salmon, chicken, whole pulses. Consume low carbs but it should be complex carbs such as brown rice, oatmeal, dalia, whole wheat chapati, multigrain chapati. Consume low fat but good quality fat such as olive oil, sesame oil, blended oil, nuts, low fat cheese. Exercise regularly atleast 30 mins a day. Practice strength training exercises.

For thyroid patient no soya and its products. Cruciferous vegetables (cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprout and broccoli) are to be taken in limited quantity and not be consumed raw (steamed or cooked only). For a normal weight reducing diet, the quantity of food is reduced as per the reduced calorie restrictions. Give more Emphasis on roughage and liquids. The following items are deleted:- a)Butter, Ghee and coconuts chutney. B)Fried food items. C)Egg Yolk. D)High Calorie fruits like banana.

Hi my mom is having diabetes. She was on medicine. She was having Glynase -MF 1 and half tablet twice a day. But from last few days she is having a lot urine at night. She is having a loss of weight as well. If there is any cut or injury its taking a lot of time to recover and heal. We did the fasting and blood test. Test results:- Haemoglobin= 11.5 gms% = 78%(By Hellige Method) True Glucose (Fasting):- 260 mgm% We are not sure about the type of diabetes. She is herself a nurse. Help me with a suggestion what should we do? Should we do a C-peptide test first? Before taking any medication. Suggestions please.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Since she has been taking oral anti-diabetic drugs for controlling blood glucose, it has to T2 diabetes. In T1 only Insulin Injection has to be given. No other drug works. She now has an uncontrolled diabetes that is the reason for excess urination at night and weight loss, because more of glucose is being lost in the urine. She needs to achieve a strict blood glucose control with FBG < 100 mg, PP 170 to 180 mg & HbA1c% <7. That means there has to be a change in the current treatment. New drugs have to be added or Insulin may have to be started. There are other options also, but in this communication we are supposed to give general guidelines only. No prescriptions are allowed. If you are keen for improving her blood glucose levels and achieve better control, please come in a private conversation with following details: FBG, PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, dietary pattern extent of exercise or physical activity, lipid profile, BP readings. Based on those details I will be able to guide specifically and help improve the condition. There is no need for C- peptide testing. Thanks.

Dear, you can get a healthy muscular body by following methods: - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid smoking & alcohol drinkg completely. 6. You can try protein powders like milk powder, soya protein for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day. I assure you that you definitely gain weight fastly by following them. First you should follow low calories food for weight loss. * In morning, take 1-2 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of lemon water with it *In Lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *In evening, You can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *In Dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes.* You can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * Work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, You can try skipping for 15 minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, Raise your legs without bending your knees, Do it for 3-5 times daily * Do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised.

Have you followed a personalized diet plan prescribed by a registered dietitian? I am both a registered dietitian and a doctor who will help you in losing your weight as well as solve your other health problems through diet. Let me know your food intake details. The best diet is one which is healthy and well balanced with foods from all the food groups, and one which is varied and that you can stick to weight loss on some diets can be dramatic in the short term, but there's more of a chance of rebound weight gain. Set yourself a realistic target and aim to lose between (0.5-1.0kg) a week I being a registered dietitian strongly accommodate the patients own preferences without the patient feeling that they are on a diet not compromising the weight management goals. Don't fall for self dieting or fad diets availiable online they have harmful effects in the long run, if you lose a lot of weight very quickly, you may not lose as much fat as you would with a more modest rate of weight loss. Instead, you might lose water weight or even lean muscle tissue, since it's hard to burn that many fat calories in a short period. I will need to carry out detailed assessment in your case, after assessing your personal challenges to weight loss, I will recommend a strategy to gradually change habits and attitudes that have sabotaged your past efforts. Also the overall objective should not be to drastically reduce weight but doing it gradually and help rebuild body tissues and to maintain ideal body weight. Hi lybrate-user, Losing inches and losing weight is not actually similar. Weight comprises of bone, muscles and fat mass. If you are losing through inches surely means you are losing fat. If it is not visible on scale it may be because you have heavy bones. Just get your BCA (body composition analyses) done. It will show exactly how much fat and lean mass you have.

To reduce fat do regular exercise like swimming,skipping,plank,push ups.sit ups,yoga after taking lukewarm water with lemon juice.If you want to add honey then add it.Eat small amount food frequently.Avoid sugar,sweetened juice.Avoid fast foods,junk foods,processed foods.Eat lots of watery fruits,vegetables,unrefined foods.Eat more protein for better health.Drink lots of water specially before meals.Use lukewarm water after meals.These will help to reduce fat.

Dear user, burning more calories that you take is the best way to lose weight. 1. Controlling your diet and exercising regularly is the key to losing weight. Taking the following could also help in accelerating the weight loss process: taking pranacharya medohar rasayan (1-1) twice a day; taking medohar guggul (2-2) twice a day; pranacharya slim capsule (1-1) twice a day. 2. It is advisable to avoid junk, fried, fermented or oily food. You should also avoid the intake of alcohol, sugar, dairy products. 3. You should increase the intake of oats and cereals. You should incorporate a walk of at least 45 minutes in your daily regime and prayanama every morning. It is advised not to sleep immediately after taking a meal.
