Sperms are highly motile and they enter inside uterine cavity immediately so don't think that liquid discharge from vagina means sperms are coming out. About your irregular period, please get your ultrasound done. You may be having polycystic ovaries which is causing delay in conception.

MD- Homoeopathy
Homeopath,
I can taken homeopathic treatment since last 2 yarr but still my tsh level is 8.4 and my period is not regular,
Your TSH level must come below 5.5. The medicine you are taking is not enough. Request your Homoeopathic physician accordingly or take a second opinion. Your thyroid function also depends a lot on your stress levels. Go for yoga regularly. Avoid eating cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli. Add protein rich food to your diet.

Good morning Dr. My wife is 26 years old now, and she is pregnant for 13 weeks now. My friend suggested NT scan is good at this point in time to know the internal structure of baby and any abnormalities as well. Can you please suggest how effective is that scan. What do you suggest is it plain NT scan or NT scan with blood test. What could be the accuracy of the report. Thank you in advance. Regards, Satish.

NB/NT (Level 1) scan is one of the two most important USGs to be done during a pregnancy, the other being an anomaly (Level 2) scan at 18-20 weeks. Combined with the dual test, it has almost 90% of detecting genetic defects in the baby.

Don't skip breakfast.

Don't skip breakfast.

Studies show that eating a proper breakfast is one of the most positive things you can do if you are trying to lose weight. Breakfast skippers tend to gain weight. A balanced breakfast includes fresh fruit or fruit juice, a high-fibre breakfast cereal, low-fat milk or yoghurt, whole wheat toast, and a boiled egg.

Hello. My friend has a bad smell in her vagina since few months. Even she takes bath with warm water twice in a day. But still she said she has that bad smell in her female part. She s really worried about this issue. Could you tell me the cause and solution for this problem.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
It is most likely a fungal infection which usually causes an offensive smell in female private parts ,so you would need to use candid vag tabs to be inserted in vagina for six nights, she should also maintain good Personal hygeine and drink lots of water. She should change her undergarments two to three times a day or use panty liners.

Dear user. I can understand. Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina that can result in discharge, itching and pain. Vaginitis is usually caused by a change in the normal balance of vaginal bacteria, an infection or reduced oestrogen levels after menopause. Symptoms include an unusual vaginal discharge, itching or irritation, painful urination and pain during intercourse. Treatment usually involves medication that focuses on the underlying cause. I suggest you to consult a gynecologist. Take care.

Tips For Good Appetite!

Tips For Good Appetite!

A healthy appetite refers to a positive sign of a healthy wellbeing. Many factors can contribute to loss of appetite, such as emotional disturbances, mild illness or severe health problems.
Loss of appetite can cause depression, appendicitis, thyroid problems, infections, poor nutrition and some types of cancer.

The following are a few tips to maintain a healthy appetite-

 Daily breakfast:
It is the most important meal of the day. Consume a healthy balanced breakfast like sprouts, roti, idli, dosa, upma, egg, milk and fruits to help your metabolism get active after a long night fasting. Breakfast will give more energy so that you will be more active throughout the day. It should be full of vitamins, proteins and minerals.

 Eat small frequent meals:
Eating small frequent meals rather than three meals a day is an excellent way to build a healthy appetite. It also helps in lessening bloating and sluggishness after eating. Try four to six small meals a day to avoid feeling overly full.

Use aromatic herbs and spices in cooking:
Foods that have very pleasant or fragrant smell might enhance your appetite. Try to add herbs and spices of nice aroma like cinnamon, basil, oregano, asafoetida, etc.

 Water:
Drinking 4 to 5 liters of water daily is the best for body's temperature regulation and keeping it cool.

Snacks between meals:
Try a small bowl of your favorite snacks like nuts, roasted chickpeas, fruit salads, popcorn, etc. Just remember that snacks are not meant to be eaten instead of meals but in addition to them.

 Pick your favorite food items:
Consume those foods, which give satisfaction and that you enjoy.

Eat less fibre food:
It is present in fruits, vegetables and whole grain food and it is an essential component of any healthy diet. It feels like fullness, so the best is to use in moderation.

Exercise:
Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. So, go for a daily brisk walk for approximately 45 minutes, exercises, yoga, meditation, cycling, swimming and always be relaxed.

Dermatologist,
Importance on Breast Feeding
As we are entering the era of modernization many women are avoiding breastfeeding in false notion that it disrupts their image but one thing I wanna to tell you is that breast cancer and uterus cancer can be reduced by breast feeding and it helps to loose fat. For kids it protects against cold and diarrhea thus reducing neonatal death. So join hands in reducing neonatal deaths and improving health standards.
