Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise. Hamstring stretching towel hamstring stretch lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. Seated hamstring stretch while sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds repeat 3 times for each leg.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 1 wk, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

1. Start with Physiotherapy treatment. 2. Learn spinal exercises. 3. Always stretch your body when you travel. 4. Don't lift heavy things. 5. Don't sit on floor. 6. Apply volini cream before sleeping. 7. Take calcium, vitamin D 3 and Methylcobalmine supplement for one month.

You need to give complete rest to the part effected and take tab lyser D twice a day for a few days you can also apply volini gel on that part and apply a crepe bandage on it

Take paracetamol 500mg one tablet 2-3 times daily after food, drink plenty of water, take rest. If no relief, do blood examination after consulting doctor

My mother is 70 years old, recently she had a hair line fracture on hand, she had a PLASTER on hand, she is taking heavy dose of pain killer, she got relief for some time but again the pain get started. Also she is having arthritis. Doctor said after 6 week plaster will be remove, so my question is as a arthritis patient she get ok after 6 week, also WHY SHE IS HAVING PAIN WHEN THE plaster IS THEIR. Pl guide me.

Hi Since an orthopaedic doctor is caring, after plaster removal, physiotherapy exercises, fomentatiin shall restore movements. Arthritis has to be confirmed for type. Commonly,its osteoarthritis. Your doctor shall assess what medications would be further needed to control it. Do not worry. If diagnosis of arthritis type isn't clear, blood tests ,x-rays for arthritis profile shall be done to diagnose and give specific treatments.
