All of us desire to possess a healthy and glowing skin but factors like unhealthy lifestyle practices, inadequate sleep, extreme stress, anxiety and poor dietary choices tend to damage the health of your skin, giving it a dull and tired appearance.

The following are some tips that will enable you to revitalize your skin:

  1. Quit smoking and alcohol intake: Smoking reduces blood circulation to the interior of your skin layers, which makes your skin look dull and tired. Alcohol tends to reduce blood circulation, nutrients and quantity of oxygen supply to your skin. Hence, it is essential to limit the usage of both alcohol and tobacco.
  2. Drink lots water: Water is essential for the smooth functioning of your system. It is extremely important to hydrate your cells, to enable effective elimination of toxins from your system. An adequately hydrated body will add a healthy glow to your skin as well.
  3. Eat a balanced diet: A diet that is rich in carbohydrates and fats tend to cause more wrinkles. Green leafy vegetables and fresh seasonal fruits have antioxidants and essential vitamins, while food like fish, tofu, white meat, beans, lentils are rich in protein, all of which tend to make your skin appear younger. A balanced diet that incorporates essential nutrients is good for your skin cells and its rejuvenation. Eat mixed nuts to increase the elasticity of your skin; most nuts contain fatty acids that enable your skin to repair and rejuvenate itself.
  4. Use sunscreen:  Almost ninety percent of the wrinkles occur due to extreme sun exposure. It is advisable to use effective sunscreen and sun protection techniques to prevent sun damage. It not only protects your skin from harmful UV rays of the sun but also protects it from sun burn and sun tans.
  5. Remove your make up prior to sleep: When you go to bed without removing your make-up, the accumulated dirt and sweat tend to clog your skin pores. It is extremely necessary to remove your make up prior to sleep to lessen the risk of pimple and formation of rash on skin. 
  6. Go to bed early: Inadequate sleep tends to lower your blood circulation, which is responsible for making you look washed out and pale. Proper sleep not only gives your body the required rest but also enables your skin to rejuvenate itself through involuntary renewal process.

The reason of dark circle around eyes is either hb deficiency or excessive stress, late night sleeping etc. So check out your hb. Also do not take excessive work load, try meditation atleast for 20 min in a day. And do oil massage to head at night it will help to relax mind & lowering stress.

Hi lybrate-user. Healthy skin is coated in a thin layer of natural lipids, or fatty substances. They keep in moisture, leaving the skin soft and supple. Usually, something in the environment - or something you're doing to your skin - is stripping away these fatty oils, leaving your skin unprotected. Less often, the cause is internal; a health condition, menopause or genetic predisposition is making your skin dry out and causes pigmentation. Ayurveda refers this condition as vyanga. So here by I am advicing some medication along with some general tips to follow. Medication:- 1. Regular massage with tavishi (cold pressed coconut oil) daily twice a day, before bath and in before going to bed. 2. Regular applying a face mask. Arjunadi churna-with honey and leave it for 30 mons 3. Applying kumkumadi lepam daily in the night as a night cream general tips:- 1. Avoid:-a. Alcohol b. Junk food. C. Red meat. D. Dairy products. E. Condiments. F. Citrus fruits. 2. Avoid spicy & more salty food. 3. Take plenty of fruits. 4. Clean & clear face at least 3 times a day.

Hello there, I am 18 years old female, having stretch marks on my abdominal area and below back. Some are in white and some in dark red lines. Please tell me the difference between them and is there any way to get ride of them. Plus I would like to add that those white lines or marks started to occur when I reached Puberty (at the age of 12). And these dark red lines are from 1.5 year. Hi, for reducing dark circles take a cotton and soak with rose water and apply around eyes and keep it overnight. Do this daily take ferrum met 200 4pills to be sucked twice a day for 15days. Use this cream calendula and aloevera cream (dr wilmar shawbe) include fruits, green leafy vegetables, salads in diet. Drink plenty of water 3-4liters per day.
