Dear sir, multivitamins are not scientifically proven to have any benefit. If you are a healthy person, able to take regular diet, no dietary restrictions, then you don't need these supplements. Because your diet will provide for them. Take your medicine regularly, eat healthy and do some exercises like walking or jogging, avoid stress and smoking and you will be fine.

Weigh if in pounds is normal. Chances are as much as in a careless person who smokes, is exposed to pollution on road, eats bad fats, does not eat fruits and vegetables, takes every stress to heart and has high bp and blood sugar levels. Take care. Instead of having anxiety disorders, it is better to learn about heart, practice the precautions to prevent and teach others also.

Mr. Lybrate-user, your lipids all of those readings look to be pretty low. Both total cholesterol and ldl are fairly low, even hdl is also low. You have not mentioned about blood sugar levels secondly whether you exercise regularly. One of the reasons could be taking rosuvastatin 10 mg daily. It looks like there is no need of that drug at this moment. So you may discontinue the same and then check lipids after about 3 months. Also exercise daily that will also help. You also are close to be obese with a bmi of 29.41 kgs/m2, hence exercising should be beneficial. With regards.

Go for 30 minutes of casual walk in the evening every day. That's all you need. You will get blood pressure and may be other diseases if you neglect your health. Check your blood sugar, thyroid also. Nowadays people in 20 get sugar.

Mr. Lybrate-user, pyorrhea is invariably due to unhealthy food habits, not taking enough care to clean the mouth, lack of vitamin c and infection due to injury to gums etc. Proper brushing and regular massaging the gums and use of astringent gels helps in controlling bleeding in gums. Plus regular vitamin c supplement should be used. Use mouth wash regularly to control oral infection. Better to consult a near by dental surgeon.

How can we cure the patient from diabetes and what happened to the patient when he get suffered by diabetes and high blood pressure together and how can we cure them by using daily domestic treatments?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
How can we cure the patient from diabetes and what happened to the patient when he get suffered by diabetes and high ...
Diabetes affects all organs in the body ? Eyes, kidneys, nerves, reproductive system all are affected, In fact, from toe to hair. For diabetic control, patient and doctor should be in constant touch for regular follow up and advice. It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose ? SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance... if you keep in touch.

Sir am a 33 age old male, I have cholesterol, total cholesterol 231, HDL 43, LDL 161.2 what do now?

BHMS
Homeopath,
Sir
am a 33 age old male, I have cholesterol, total cholesterol 231, HDL 43, LDL 161.2 what do now?
Dear Lybrate User, Cholesterol is naturally produced inside the body of every living animal. Human beings are no exception to that. But when we take mutton, chicken, yellow part of a boiled egg, ghee, butter etc we intake cholesterol from external source. This extra cholesterol from external sources increase the total cholesterol content of human body. You should always keep your cholesterol level within normal limits as high cholesterol serves as a precursor to various cardiac diseases. Avoid the aforesaid food. Walk at least 1 hour in a day without any interval. Also you can take Homoeopathic Mother Tincture FUCUS VESICULOSUS Q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water.

What is the age at which we have high risk of heart attack?

B.H.M.S., Senior Homeopath Consultant
Homeopath,
Certain traits, conditions, or habits may raise your risk for coronary heart disease (chd). These conditions are known as risk factors. Risk factors also increase the chance that existing chd will worsen. Women generally have the same chd risk factors as men. However, some risk factors may affect women differently than men. For example, diabetes raises the risk of chd more in women. Also, some risk factors, such as birth control pills and menopause, only affect women. There are many known chd risk factors. Your risk for chd and heart attack rises with the number of risk factors you have and their severity. Risk factors tend to" gang up" and worsen each other's effects. Having just one risk factor doubles your risk for chd. Having two risk factors increases your risk for chd fourfold. Having three or more risk factors increases your risk for chd more than tenfold. Also, some risk factors, such as smoking and diabetes, put you at greater risk for chd and heart attack than others. More than 75 percent of women aged 40 to 60 have one or more risk factors for chd. Many risk factors start during childhood; some even develop within the first 10 years of life. You can control most risk factors, but some you can't. For more information about chd risk factors, go to the health topics coronary heart disease risk factors article. To find out whether you're at risk for chd, talk with your doctor or health care provider.

I would like to know the difference between Heart Attack, Cardiac Arrest & Stroke? And when heart explods like a bomb?

MBBS, MD-General Medicine, DM - Cardiology
Cardiologist, Secunderabad
I would like to know the difference between Heart Attack, Cardiac Arrest & Stroke? And when heart explods like a bomb?
Heart attack is common term for Myocardial infarction, when there is 100% obstruction to blood flow in one of the blood vessels supplying heart. Cardiac arrest is sudden stoppage of heart leading to stoppage of blood circulation. This can occur with or without heart attack. Stroke is a term variously used. Some people use it for heart attack(Heart stroke) some people use it for brain stroke. There is no condition in which heart can explode like a bomb. If you swallow one, then its a different matter!!!
