10 Bad Habits That Are Killing You Slowly!

10 Bad Habits That Are Killing You Slowly!

Most of the time people are not even aware of the bad habits which can harm their health in several ways. However, we do them persistently without realizing that these habits are actually harming our health and can lead to problems like heart diseases, sleep or eating disorders, stress, etc.

Here are 10 of those bad habits.

  1. Smoking cigarettes and nicotine addiction: Everybody knows that cigarettes cause cancer, especially when smoked excessively. Very few people know that nicotine also can lead to shrinking of brain and diseases like Alzheimer's. Therefore, one must quit this bad habit right away.
  2. Skipping the most important meal of the day: These days, all of us lead a busy lifestyle which involves skipping breakfast or lunch on a daily basis. Incidentally, many people are not aware of the fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and one should not skip it at any cost.
  3. Eating without being hungry and overeatingJust as you should not skip the important meals in a day, overeating is bad as well. There are many of us who love food and are habituated with eating while watching or reading something. Very soon, this habit of overeating can make them obese or popularly known as ‘couch potato.’
  4. Extremely bad food habits: Quite often, we prefer to include only those kinds of food items which we love. On the contrary, one should follow a healthy and balanced diet including carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamin, minerals and water, as per individual body demands.
  5. Skipping exercise and leading an inactive life: Having a balanced diet is not enough, if you want a healthy body and mind. There is no alternative to physical fitness and exercises. Being physically inactive can lead to heart diseases, cholesterol problems, arthritis, obesity, etc.
  6. Sleeping disorders: A person must have seven to eight hours of uninterrupted sleep to maintain the proper sleep cycle. The sleeping disorder can cause severe health problems.
  7. Watching television or using mobile before going to bed: To get a relaxed sleep, you need to quit the habit of watching any video, television series, movies, playing with mobile phones. Our minds tend to reminiscent of those videos, and that can disrupt our sleep. Instead, you can read a bit.
  8. Excessive consumption of alcohol: An inordinate amount of alcohol in our body might make us excited, and that is not good when you are going to drive or sleep. Always keep a check on your alcohol consumption.
  9. Stress and fatigueTaking stress can cause us fatigue, sleeping and eating disorders, etc. Therefore, you need to learn how to manage stress o maintain a balance between your private and work life.
  10. Not relaxing or enjoying your leisure: Since we live in a stressful environment, we need to value recreation. Overworking can cause severe stress and psychological problems. Avoid that by doing whatever you like, such as, reading, traveling, etc.

Get rid of these bad habits which can cause harm to your health and start enjoying a healthy and happy life.

7 Steps You Must Follow To Keep Your Kidneys Healthy!

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Nephrologist, Noida
7 Steps You Must Follow To Keep Your Kidneys Healthy!

If you are concerned about your health, it is important for you to keep your kidneys protected from several harmful conditions. There are several types of kidney disorders, which may develop if your kidneys are not well cared for. This may include overload of toxins, acute renal failure, chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. Kidney cancer is another fatal threat.

Steps to keep your kidneys healthy
There are several ways you can undertake for keeping your kidneys safe. They include the following:

  1. Take certain tests for obtaining the panel reading of your BUN or blood urea nitrogen and creatinine levels. The estimated glomerular filtration rate (EGFR) must be determined as well. The scores obtained from these tests will tell you about the condition of your kidneys at that point of time.
  2. Lower the amount of phosphorous intake. When the kidney does not function properly, phosphorus accumulation is likely, which causes serious conditions like heart disorders and calcification of the tissues. You should avoid phosphorous-rich food items and abstain from drinking carbonated drinks.
  3. You must consume several kidney-supportive food items, which may include watermelon, cranberries, cabbage, cauliflower, blueberries, strawberries, apples, garlic, onions and olive oil.
  4. Obesity is linked with kidney cancer and hence, you must maintain a healthy weight. Carry out regular exercises.
  5. Several pain relievers such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDS may have harmful side effects on the kidney and may lead to kidney cancer. Try to avoid these medicines.
  6. You can take an Epsom salt bath. This is a common measure for detoxification, and the wastes and toxins get removed, improving the kidney’s health rapidly. Have regular checkups of blood and urine along with ultra-sound to know kidneys are working good.
  7. You should keep your blood-sugar level and blood pressure under control as they are triggers for kidney failure. You should quit smoking and stop using tobacco in any form as the toxins from nicotine harm the kidneys.

With proper care and management of your kidneys, you will be able to prevent several harmful conditions. One should get Kidney function test and Ultrasound done to check that the kidney is functioning normally.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Miss, unless you tell your future husband about your past relationship, it is unlikely he will find out. Vagina is elastic, in the absence of regular sex, it is likely to go back to its original size. AS far as the darkening is concerned, Indians are dark skinned people and some amount of darkening is age related. At the age of 30 not many Indian women will have a pink vaginal orifice. I think you should put your fears to rest, and face your new relationship with an open mind. Do not carry your baggage with you. If the environment is not liberal and friendly, do not volunteer to discuss your past. If at all the past needs to be discussed, let both partners discuss it.

Four months is a very short time pregnancy happens by chance when your egg is released and it meets the sperm at that time if your periods are regular then you should have sexual relations from 10th day to 20th day of your menstrual cycle every day or every alternate day that is the time when ovulation occurs.

There are very little chances of her getting pregnant as per your history. Regarding testing, 26sep will be good enough to rule out pregnancy.
