Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There are many causes of pain in lower back region. It can be due to faulty posture, related to weak muscles, issues with intervertebral disc, narrowing of spinal canal, any bony instability besides many other, so accurate diagnosis is the key to proper management of the condition. You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Kindly send me relevant x rays and mri lower back region so that I can see and advise you accordingly. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Sir, their is a continuous cracking sound coming out from my right elbow while moving it in a particular way. But it is absolutely pain free. I would like to ask you what must be the causes of these sounds. And the sound is like rhymed tic collision between bones or tendon.

Hi thanks for query Repititive sounds in elbow without pain might be a normal phenomenon. But to rule out other causes better consult orthopedician and get an Xray.

Hi Lybrate User... This pain is called sciatica pain. No need to worry. It will get OK.... Try doing some back stretching and strengthening exercises..... 1. Lie down face down and lift left leg and then right leg..... 2..Same position, lift both legs together for 5 seconds and drop.... 3. Lift left leg and right hand and then the opposit..... Basically if you practice back exercises regularly this pain will go. This is not a long term pain.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Ankle stretching. Ankle strengthening exercises. Avoid squatting. Quadriceps exercises. Core strenthening exercises. Stretch calves get a custom made insole. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation.

I am just 20 years old & my knee pains (only right knee) mostly when I sit with folding legs for longer time. It started recently about 2-3 months ago when I came home after started playing cricket after a long time. I thought pain will disappear as time goes on but its still there.

Dear , I am Dr. Saseendar, specialist orthopaedic surgeon from chennai. Where exactly in the knee is your pain? is it on the knee cap in front of your knee? or is it below the knee cap? do you have pain during playing or when you kick a ball or run? I suspect it is a strain on your patella or your patellar tendon. Kindly let me know the details. Since the pain has been there for so long, it is advisable to get x rays for your knee.

Sir I m 34 yrs male. I had knee pain from last 6 months. Now feeling little better after taking vitamin D3 injection + homeopathic & ayurvedic medicine, but swelling and little sensation (including some sound while sitting) is still there. One thing more, is there any side effect of masturbating/sex along with back pain. Thank you sir.

Rest. Take a break from your normal activities. Ice. Place an ice pack or bag of frozen peas on the sore area for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day. Compression. Use a compression bandage to reduce swelling. If masturbation is causing you more pain, you should avoid it for a few days.
