Gradually start an exercise program, eat right and continue breast-feeding to help shed those pounds. Breastfeed Your Baby. Breast-feeding your baby can help you shed pounds. ... Start Exercising. Walking after a C section can speed recovery. ... Eat Healthy. Eat a healthy breakfast. ... Limit Unhealthy Foods. Breast-feeding moms lose more weight three months post-partum than moms who don’t breast-feed. If you continue to breast-feed after your baby is 4 to 6 months, you will continue to lose weight. Speak to your doctor first, but after six to eight weeks you can gradually increase your activity level and start an exercise routine. Start slowly and engage in aerobic and toning exercises. Eat five to six small meals a day and never skip a meal. Drink eight to nine glasses of fluid a day – preferably water. Every new mom should be able to indulge in dessert now and then, but do so sparingly. Cakes, cookies, ice cream and candy contain a lot of saturated fat, sugar and calories, which will make the numbers on the scale creep up rather than down. Snacking is important, but avoid salty snacks, such as potato chips, and choose fruits and vegetables instead. Steer clear of soda, juice and other sugary beverages. Their sugar and calorie content can add up, preventing you from losing weight.

Dear doctor. My son is now 2.5 yrs old. We got our son after 7 yrs of our marriage through iui treatment. Till now he is not able to eat any solid foods properly. We consulted with lots of doctors and of no use and we dont now how to proceed further. We need your valuable suggestion regarding this thanks

M.D.( Pediatrics), DCH
Pediatrician,
What is his weight? What do you mean by" not able to eat any solid food properly" what is your idea of proper eating? These were the questions which came to my mind when I tried to look at your problem. Because every individual has different expectations based on his experiences in past. I know you are genuinely anxious, but did not really understand exactly what it is?

My baby girl was born on 3rd october premature at 32 weeks. She was in NICU for 3 weeks due to infection. Her OAE test results REFER however the child responds to sound of rattles. Apparently she has no hearing loss. But the OAE test detects the loss of hearing to serai frequencies and may repoat it at a later stage he 4 types of otoacoustic emissions are as follows: Spontaneous otoacoustic emissions (SOAEs) - Sounds emitted without an acoustic stimulus (ie, spontaneously) Transient otoacoustic emissions (TOAEs) or transient evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to an acoustic stimuli of very short duration; usually clicks but can be tone-bursts Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to 2 simultaneous tones of different frequencies Sustained-frequency otoacoustic emissions (SFOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to a continuous tone. Pure-tone (PT) audiometry measures throughout the outer ear, middle ear, cochlea, cranial nerve (CN) VIII, and central auditory system. However, OAEs measure only the peripheral auditory system, which includes the outer ear, middle ear, and cochlea. The response only emanates from the cochlea, but the outer and middle ear must be able to transmit the emitted sound back to the recording microphone. OAE testing often is used as a screening tool to determine the presence or absence of cochlear function, although analysis can be performed for individual cochlear frequency regions. OAEs cannot be used to fully describe an individual's auditory thresholds, but they can help question or validate other threshold measures (eg, in suspected functional [feigned] hearing loss), or they can provide information about the site of the lesion. Using current technology, most researchers and clinicians find a correlation between frequency-specific analysis of TOAEs/DPOAEs and cochlear hearing loss. However, at this juncture, the correlation cannot fully describe auditory threshold. Naturally, a correlation would not be expected for noncochlear hearing loss.

It's normal for babies to develop rashes from as early as a few days old, as their sensitive skin adapts to a different environment. Most rashes are harmless and go away on their own. But if your baby has developed a rash and seems unwell, see your local pediatrician to find out the cause and receive any necessary treatment. Your feedback matters. Thank-you.

Do kids need antibiotics? If yes how often they have to be given if they are falling sick almost once or twice every month.

Do kids need antibiotics? If yes how often they have to be given if they are falling sick almost once or twice every ...
It depends on what kid is suffering from. Antibiotics acts against bacteria. So if child is suffering from some illness caused by bacteria he should be treated with appropriate antibiotics. In children frequent episodes of common cold (viral) is quite common. If they are growing normally they just need comforting measures during the episode not antibiotics.

Hello, How to make arrowroot paste for weaning infants, poor digestion, diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome – Arrowroot powder 2 teaspoons – Sugar 1-2 teaspoons – Water 1 cup – Mix them in a pot – Heat the pot on a stove in low heat – Stir it till it thickens – Remove from the stove – Serve while warm Arrowroot powder is safe to eat. Instead of boiling in water, it may be boiled in milk. Please note, arrowroot has mild effects to help treat poor digestion, diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome. Basically, it is a food, not a medicine. If you suffer from a serious diarrhea, you should seek medical care.

Dear Sir /Madam, My daughter is 5 months old. Last few days her foot (lower portion) and palms are turning red frequently for 15 to 20 minutes after which it is getting normal. We also noticed the same in her forehead. These things are happening most in the night before sleeping. Is anything serious in it? When consulted with doctor, he told that my daughter has low hemoglobin (12. 2 gm%) for which she is taking medicine now. Is it the reason for which she is getting this problem. Please clarify & suggest what need to be done. I'm very worried for my daughter's health.

Hb can't be reason for this change. If baby is active n taking normal feed there is no cause of worry. Since doctor has already examined n observed no problem I suppose redness may be due to atmospheric change of temperature and/or feeding before sleep.
