Hello, all pregnant women have an indirect coombs' test during early pregnancy. At the first prenatal visit, your blood is tested to see if you have been previously sensitized to rh-positive blood. If you are rh-negative and test results show that you are not sensitized, a repeat test may be done between 24 and 28 weeks. An abnormal (positive) result means that the mother has developed antibodies to the fetal red blood cells and is sensitized. However, a positive coombs' test only indicates that an rh-positive fetus has a possibility of being harmed. A positive test cannot indicate the amount of fetal harm that has occurred or is likely to occur. If test results show that antibody amounts are increasing during pregnancy, the fetus may be at greater risk of harm. A fetus who is rh-negative will not be harmed, even if the mother is sensitized.

I recently was treated for syphilis however 3 months later while on my period I noticed a small bump. 2 days it turned into a open sore. It is very irritating when I urinate or if anything touches it so it seems impossible to heal. I went back to doctor who said this isn't syphilis nor any.

Those who have pcod should change their lifestyle and reduce weight by avoiding junk foods, taking more and more salads, high protein diet, sprouted beans, fruits, vegetables, dry fruits etc. As well as you should also start treatment for pcod and continue at least for 3 months followed by ultrasonography to confirm that pcod has been cured.

Dear lybrate-user. Cyst of 1.5 cm is alright. Most of them resolve without any medical intervention in course of couple of months. If she doesn't have any symptoms you cab simply Repeat and scan after 2 months and look for the size. If it is increasing in size, consider taking medications to decrease the cyst.

Parenting

Right now we have a generation of kids who are going into high school, college and even the workforce who have never really experienced failure before. This is a generation of kids who have been bubble-wrapped since birth. The first generation of kids who weren't really allowed to play outside. The first generation where every drawer and cabinet was safety locked. The first generation to not only wear safety belts, but to also ride in a car seat until kindergarten. This is the first generation to wear helmets when riding their bikes. Mom and dad have stepped in to stop anything that could possibly hurt their kids. Unfortunately, in mom and dad's protectiveness, they have also protected their kids from some very important life lessons. Like failure.

This generation of kids that are arriving into adulthood or who will be quickly in its ranks have never been allowed to fail at anything in life. Even the little things like little league (where trophies are passed out with juice boxes) have been sanitized to make sure that everyone's feelings are safe from harm. Now these kids are becoming adults with unrealistic expectations for what is going to happen in the future. On what reality is like. And generally, what life is like.

I am not saying that the parents are bad people. Or that they were protecting their children with some malicious intent. In fact, I know the exact opposite is true. These parents were doing everything within their power to protect the things that are most precious to them. Their children. The parents only wanted to keep their children safe and happy. The layer of bubble wrap protection was done from a place of love and care. But what started out as loving protection has put these kids into an unexpected predicament. Because mom and dad were so quick to protect their child from anything negative (physical, mental and emotional), these kids never developed the ability to handle life's little messes. And we all know that life likes to dole out messes.

So, what can we do to help these young adults (and soon-to-be adults)? and more importantly, what can we do to not let this happen again with future generations? i'm not suggesting that we get rid of seat belt laws or that there weren't very good reasons for not giving kids free reign of their neighborhoods like we once had. I get those reasons. I am a parent. I watch the news. The world can be a scary place.

Starting now. We need to learn to stand back. We need to learn to stay on the sidelines when our kids are facing something difficult. Or when they have already messed up. We need to stand back and give them the space to clean up their own mess. They will never learn to do it, if we rush in like an assaulting army taking out everything in its path. Yes, your kids won't like it that you are not running to their defense. There may be tears. There may even be some accusations that you are ruining their life. But guess what? you aren't. You are actually doing them a huge favor. They just may not realize it yet.

You see, as strong and able as you are today, you are not always going to be around. And what happens then when your kid is facing a huge screw up or failure? who is going to fix it for them then? if you do not allow your kid the space to learn to deal with failures starting with the smallest of failures they will never develop the tools necessary to deal with those moments in life.

So, when they are facing a big ole screw up that has the potential of changing the trajectory of their life and you aren't around to fix it, what do you think they will do? run and hide? maybe. Deal with it? probably not. They will more than likely allow that one (albeit huge) screw up to define the rest of their life. And I know that as a parent who has spent the better part of your own adult life protecting this child of yours that you would never want that for your kid. So, take a step back. Take a deep breath. They can do this. (and so can you.) believe in them. Be their biggest cheerleader, but please, for your child's sake, don't step in and be the quarterback of their life. Allow your kid to have that win.

I am 32 years old girl. Got married 2 months before, got treatment for pus cells. My problem is of dry vagina duvets which have painful intercourse as well difficulty in sex arousal.

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda, Gulbarga
Normally, the walls of the vagina stay lubricated with a thin layer of clear fluid. The hormone estrogen helps maintain that fluid and keeps the lining of the vagina healthy, thick, and elastic. During menopause, the drop in estrogen levels reduces the amount of moisture available. It also makes the vagina thinner and less elastic. This is called vaginal atrophy other causes of vaginal dryness include: sj gren's syndrome (an autoimmune disorder that attacks cells in the body that produce moisture) allergy and cold medications and certain antidepressants douching lack of enough foreplay before sexual intercourse no matter what the cause, vaginal dryness can be extremely uncomfortable. It can lead to itching, burning, and painful intercourse. Insufficient arousal. In some cases, vaginal dryness may be caused by a low libido or sexual problems with a partner? if a partner has poor performance and early ejaculation, it can contribute to vaginal dryness? treatment lubricants? there are a plethora of lubricants that can help vaginal dryness? says goldstein. They include silicone-based, oil-based, and water-based products. Lubricants are usually used to make sex less uncomfortable rather than for long-term vaginal lubrication. Moisturizers. Over-the-counter vaginal moisturizers can be an effective way to minimize vaginal dryness over several days with one application? moisturizing agents help introduce water into the tissue of the vagina? says goldstein. After pregnancy test with preganews kit ,how to identify her pregnancy week means 6 week ,8 week, 14 week.

M.B.S.(HOMEO), MD - Homeopathy

After pregnancy test with preganews kit ,how to identify her pregnancy week means 6 week ,8 week, 14 week.
6 th Week pregnancy: Your Growing Baby: The heart begins to pump blood, and the neural tube that will become the spine closes (which is why taking folic acid early is essential). The embryo takes on a C-shape; arm and leg buds begin to form; and the skin is translucent. Length: about 1∕4 inch. Fetus fact: The heart will beat 54 million times before birth! 8th Week pregnancy: Your Growing Baby: Brainwave activity starts. Fingers and toes begin to form and are webbed. Lungs, ears, eyes, upper lip and nose start to form. The body is beginning to straighten, and subtle movements begin. Length: about 1∕2 inch. 14th Week pregnancy: Your Growing Baby: Your baby is about 4 to 4 ½ inches and about 1 ¾ of an ounce. If you could see your baby's face, you might be able to see her wince and grimace, because her facial muscles are developing and flexing. All of her tiny organs, nerves, and muscles are starting to function. The intestines have moved farther into the baby's body; her liver begins to secrete bile, which will later aid in the digestion of fats; and her pancreas begins to produce insulin, a hormone which turns sugar into energy. ALL THESE IDENTIFY BY THE ULTRASONOGRAPHY A qualitative HCG blood test checks if there is a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin in your blood. HCG is a hormone produced in the body during pregnancy. Other HCG tests include: HCG urine test. Quantitative pregnancy test (checks specific level of HCG in your blood) Levels can first be detected by a blood test about 11 days after conception and about 12-14 days after conception by a urine test. Typically, the hCG levels will double every 72 hours.

You must engage in longer foreplay so that you are adequately aroused. Without adequate arousal, appropriate lubrication of the vagina does not happen and results in pain. If this is not possible for some reason use artificial lubricant or ask your husband to use a good condom.

Natural ways to avoid pregnancy after having an unprotected sex within 5 days of having such sex.

DNB (Diplomate of National Board of Examinations ), DGO (Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology)

Natural ways to avoid pregnancy after having an unprotected sex within 5 days of having such sex.
Hi, natural ways work only with precautions. If you had intercourse in first and last week of period then remote chances are there. Natural ways are to calculate safe period which you can define by deducting 18 from shortest cycle and 11 from longest cycle. The time period will define duration when you need to have protection. After intercourse there is no natural way to avoid pregnancy (if happened around ovulation) but you have to take medicines.

Causes, Symptoms and Treatment of Cervicitis

Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Bangalore
Causes, Symptoms and Treatment of Cervicitis

The inflammation of the lower part of uterus in the reproductive system is called Cervicitis. This lower part of uterus eventually leads into the vagina in the female reproductive system in humans is called the cervix uteri or in simple words, cervix.

Causes: Inflammation in the cervix is caused due to irritation, infection or injury to the cells, which align the cervix. Any one of a number of infections, mainly sexually transmitted diseases can cause cervicitis, of which the most common are chlamydia , mycoplasma , ureaplasma and gonorrhea. Chlamydia accounts for almost 40% of the total cases. Less common causes of cervicitis are Trichomoniasis (Trichomonas vaginalis) and Genital herpes. Other than STDs, causes for Cervicitis include allergies, bacterial imbalance, injury or irritation resulting from pessaries, tampons, hormonal imbalance and even cancer or its treatment (radiation therapy).

Symptoms: Some cases of cervicitis in women can be symptomless. However, in most cases, symptoms are present, and they include:

  1. Persistence of gray or white vaginal discharge that may or may not smell
  2. Vaginal bleeding under certain conditions eg. in between periods or after sex
  3. Pain during intercourse
  4. Backache
  5. Difficulty or pain during urination
  6. In rare cases, fever or pain in the abdomen

Treatment: Cervicitis has no typical form of treatment. Treatment may not be needed in cases where the cause is not a sexually transmitted infection. On suspicion of an infection, the main objectives of the treatment are the removal of the infection and obstructing its spread to the fallopian tubes and uterus, or in case of pregnancy, to the baby.

The medical prescription issued by your doctor would depend on the organism, which is causing the infection. It may include Antibiotics, Antifungal medications or Antiviral medications. Cryosurgery, a process, which freezes the abnormal cells in the cervix using freezing temperatures, may also be performed by your doctor. In severe cases, where there is damage to the cervical cells, your doctor can apply silver nitrate (destroys abnormal cells).

Your doctor may also recommend your partner to take the treatment, so as to prevent recurrence of the disease and to avoid intercourse as long as the treatment is in process. Treatment is mandatory if you are tested to be HIV positive. Moreover, having cervicitis makes you more prone to receive the virus from a HIV positive partner.
