Tooth staining occurs due to oil and turmeric content of food. To prevent staining make a habit of doing gargles everytime you eat something, also do brush regularly (once in the morning before meals and once at night after dinner, add a mouthwash for better oral hygiene. This will keep your teeth shining and whiter always

We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning, root canal treatment & capping. Until then apply clove oil on the decayed tooth. Rinse frequently with mouth wash.

Pros And Cons Of Patanjali Danth Kanthi

Dentist, Visakhapatnam
Pros And Cons Of Patanjali Danth Kanthi

Hello Lybrate Users,

I am posting on this topic as many of users have been asking on the same issue.

Pros

1. It has nice taste.

2. Freshness lasts longer.

3. Has good antibacterial property of neem and turmeric.

4. Its soothing action on the cavities and gums.

5. Minimum side effects.

Cons:

1. It cannot be an alternative to dental treatment as it cannot reverse progression of disease of gums or cavities.

2. As it soothens (obtundant) effect of clove oil on regular basis misguides the pain response which would end up in the end stages of the disease finally results increased cost of dental treatment in late stages of the disease or the tooth should be removed if caries or periodontal progression goes beyond to save the tooth.

3. The turmeric might cause tooth discolouration in long run.

As far as to my knowledge is concern use it just if you want to give a try but I will never recommend on a daily basis.

I want to overcome to bad breath please give me some medicine to recover fast to this bad breath problem.
Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash (HEX mouthwash) until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.

I am 24 years old. I started chewing tobacco in my school days. But last few months I am not using any tobacco product. Today I found that there were white spots in my gums in corner side. And as I know It can be a symptoms of oral cancer so I would like to know that should I take a checkup for oral cancer. And if yes than what will be the charges.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Well, it may not be oral cancer yet. I would advise that you get this clinically examined by an experienced dentist. If in doubt still, you can always connect with a head and neck oncologist for 2nd opinion. Additionally, please continue with your good habit of staying away from tobacco products. Streamline your diet and lifestyle, and maintain a good oral hygiene. You can take green tea, twice daily. Hope this helps. You can connect for a suitable naturopathic traction should it require anytime. Do take care and all the very best. Sincerely.

I am suffering from teeth yellowness and I brush daily but I don' t get any cure from yelloish teeth. Please give me some home remedy

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Please get a round of scaling and polishing done by your dentist. Once that has been done, you can maintain your teeth just by regular brushing etc. If you are still not satisfied after the procedure, you can consider whitening (even home bleaching options are available for this).

Periodontal Diseases

Bachelor of Dental Surgery
Dentist, Allahabad
Periodontal Diseases
  • Periodontal diseases started with deposition of stain, calculous and bad oral hygiene. Leading to gingival pocket formation, swollen gums, bleeding bums, bad breath, dental caries, pyorrhea, etc. When these problems remains untreated for long time; severity oof the problem increases and develops mobile (loose) teeth, deep carious teeth, severe pain condition.
  • Advice:- maintain your oral hygiene, brush your teeth twice daily. Consult to dentist at every 6 month or one year time interval for regular dental check up. Don't ignore you minor oral or dental problems. Minor problems develops in major problems with increase in time. Be aware for your oral cavity and teeth.

Soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices should be consumed in a limited quantity because they are acidic in nature. Acidic food or drinks often soften the tooth material which leads to the dissolution of minerals from the tooth enamel, resulting in cavities (holes).

Is it advisable to extract all four wisdom teeth in one single surgery or it must be done one at a time? Dentist advised us to extract all four in one sitting but we doubt if it would be too painful to handle after the surgery.

It will not be painful to extract all wisdom teeth at once. But tissue handling, bleeding and healing of wound may be issue of concern. But it all depens on your wife's general health status.
