Full body pain. Diabetics, cholesterol, weak eyesight, chickengunia two years ago. Age 60 years recommend home medicine.

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
I don't know any home medicine. But remedy what you can use is reduce your body weight, do regular physical exercise with 45 mins of aerobics / brisk walking, dietary management and monitor diabetes control. Lipid insatiability can be accepted in diabetes. Monitoring for control of diabetes complications, including eye complications like diabetic cataract or retinopathy, are also very much important. Medicine part shall be taken care by your diabetologist. I believe your body pain shall go with exercise gradually.

High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. Hi there. See there are many drugs available for diabetes, hypertension and high cholestrol. But all the prescriptions should be individulised. It depends on the exact values of lipid profile and sugar values and the blood pressure and ideally medicines cud only be given by checking patient in person. I advise you to please see a doctor. Thank u.

Hi. If you are suffering from chronic and high grade thyroid dysfunction or autoimmune thyroid disease, in all these cases whether you take allopathic or homoeopathic or any other mode of treatment, it would maintain your thyroid function. Do practice yoga along with these medicines. Yoga-Poses: Kalapbhati: This is a very effective form of pranayama. Sit down on the floor in a comfortable cross-legged position. Take a deep breath & then exhale quickly, while making a sound. Always remember while doing Kapalbhati – you have to forcefully and quickly exhale, but slowly and deeply inhale. Continue doing this for 10 times & then release. Ujjayi Pranayam: Sit down on the floor in a cross-legged straight position. Inhale slowly and deeply by both the nostrils. Try to make a hissing sound while you are sucking in the air. After that, stretch your inhale time for a while & then exhale as much as you can without giving any kind of pressure to your other body parts. This type of pranayama is very effective for those suffering from bronchitis, asthma & thyroid. Yoga Nidra (Corpse Pose) also works well in both hypo and hyperthyroidism in reducing stress and calming down. Foods to be avoided in Hypothyroidism: hypothyroidism causes skin to become dry. Once it is controlled with tsh levels becoming normal, most symptoms will disappear. Carrots and beet root are fine, can be eaten. Only cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts, soy beans and soy containing products and coffee need to be avoided.

You were eating outside food for 3 months. Good to know that ecg is normal at age 21. Get back to eating regular home cooked food-simple with minimum fat, sugar and salt. Deworming-3 tabs of nemocid together + 200 mg metrogyl twice daily after food for 3 days. Walking is best exercise to digest food. Use ginger-garlic as food softeners, heeng, jeera, ajwain + saunf to have better digestion. Get back here after a week.

My grandfather is a 76 years old male. 10 days ago he was affected by an ischemic stroke at the right side of his brain .But now the doctors found an infraction at the right side and also found the infraction to be spreading towards the left. Doctors are suggesting for a surgery .Is that needed for his healthy recovery?

MS - General Surgery, MBBS, MCh - Neuro Surgery
Neurosurgeon, Hyderabad
If the doctors have suggested surgery it is mos likely that the stroke is causing brain swelling and the resultant increase in pressure is causing threat to life. Surgery is therefore life saving. Unfortunately it has no implication on physical recovery since that is dependent on the size of the stroke and part of the brain that is affected.
