Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this - 1) You may take medications like this - a) Do mouthwash 4 times a day (hydrogen peroxide-1.5% solution) b) Use (MUCOPAIN dental gel) twice a day for pain c) Do take [Rejuvit Plus caps] once a day at bedtime Do follow lifestyle modifications like this - 1) Try to avoid foods that seem to irritate your mouth. These may include nuts, chips, pretzels, certain spices, salty foods and acidic fruits, such as pineapple, grapefruit, and oranges. Avoid any foods to which you're sensitive or allergic. 2) Choose healthy foods. To help prevent nutritional deficiencies, eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. 3) Follow good oral hygiene habits. Regular brushing after meals and flossing once a day can keep your mouth clean and free of foods that might trigger a sore. Use a soft brush to help prevent irritation to delicate mouth tissues, and avoid toothpaste and mouth rinses that contain sodium lauryl sulfate. Protect your mouth. If you have braces or other dental appliances, ask your dentist about orthodontic waxes to cover sharp edges. 4) Try to reduce your stress. If your canker sores seem to be related to stress, learn and use stress-reduction techniques, such as meditation and yoga. Hope that helps.

I have pain at my jaw joints, its hard for me to close or open my mouth any solutions for that.

Hi, pain in jaw joint at a young age should be treated as early as possible. Get a dental check up as irregular teeth, improper bite or improper chewing pattern can cause that. Also get an opg done so that we can view all teeth and both jaw joints. Meanwhile, have soft food and don't check for pain by repeating jaw movements. Take a painkiller tablet for temporary relief. Visit an oral medicine specialist or an oral surgeon for complete treatment. Regards.

Gum diseases, if treated at the initial stage itself can be reversed easily. By getting the accumulated tartar and plaque removed by a dentist, there is a chance that they can get better without much ado.

Hello, bleeding from teeth can be due to many reasons. The most common being deposition of plaque and calculus which has caused your gums to get inflammed and hence it is bleeding. You may have to visit a dentist and get a professional cleaning done and after that follow good oral hygiene practices of brushing your teeth twice daily and flossing. Hope this helped.

Dear lybrate-user, if your ulcer is occurring at the same spot in the mouth then it may be due to some kind of irritation of the spot like in the cheek by a tooth. For this you have to get a dental checkup done by a dentist. In case the ulcers are occurring in different spots then you have to be careful about dental hygiene. Brush your teeth daily at least twice inaday for at least 2 min each time. Also floss your tongue &rinse your mouth after every meal. Avoid spicy food. Lastly please go & get a checkup done by a dentist.

Hello. Tooth sensitivity — also known as dentin hypersensitivity — affects the tooth or exposed root surfaces. This occurs when the enamel that protects our teeth gets thinner, or when gum recession occurs, exposing the underlying surface, the dentin, thus, reducing the protection the enamel and gums provide to the tooth and root. If hot, cold, sweet or very acidic foods and drinks, or breathing in cold air, makes your teeth or a tooth sensitive or painful then you may have sensitive teeth. Tooth sensitivity can come and go over time. Causes: There are many causes of tooth sensitivity, including: Worn tooth enamel from using a hard toothbrush or brushing too aggressively Tooth erosion due to highly acidic foods and beverages Tooth erosion due to bulimia or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Gum recession that leaves your root surface exposed There are several conditions which can cause pain, but which are not tooth sensitivity: Dental caries A cracked or chipped tooth Grinding or clenching the teeth Leakage around restorations External tooth bleaching Management: Proper oral hygiene is the key to preventing gums from receding and causing sensitive-tooth pain. If you brush your teeth incorrectly, or over-brush, your gums may become sensitive. Brushing properly twice daily for 2 minutes with toothpaste that does not have high levels of abrasives, and flossing once a day, can help reduce the chance of tooth sensitivity. A diet low in acidic foods (tomatoes, pickles, tea, citrus fruits) and drinks also helps prevent tooth sensitivity. Treatment: Apply Plantago Q/ few drops on cotton swab, place it on the affected teeth and press it tightly, do it thrice a day. Orally, take Mag. Phos. 6x and Merc. Sol. 30 - both 3 times a day daily for a month. Do visit a dentist for proper diagnosis, share the reports with me. In case possible, will help you in treating your problem.
