She did her postgraduation in Obs & Gynae from Jabalpur Medical College in 1986. She has worked as a Lecturer, Associate Professor & Postgraduate Teacher in Wanless Hospital, Miraj Medical College, Maharashtra, India. My mother is 48 years old and she has a problem of osteoarthritis in her right leg. As we showed to doctors, they say the cartilage between joints of knee is almost finished i.e there is less space and which restricts my mother to walk fast, to use stairs ets. Also they said that the left knee is good enough for now but too much , but with time that will also get affected as whole weight will be on left leg. They have given some medicines for making of cartilage like "CARTIGEN-DN" and some calcium doses, some painkillers (if required). Also they said do rest as much as she can. The reason for such problem is being overweight. She weighs 100ks but she eats normal food and she drinks lot of water but still her weight is this much. Also she has now started going to physician for some affective exercises but from 2-3 day she is facing some kind of pain in her one side hip bone. I just want to ask for diet plan to take and what other measures are there for such problem.

At 48 metabolism slows down, menopause sets in causing physiological weight gain. Get opinion from ortho regarding joint replacement. Walking is not the exercise for her, her knees will get weaker. Reduce sugar and salt to bare minimum. No sweets. Lemon juice + spoon of honey in warm water on empty stomach everyday in morning. Apple cider vinegar diluted with water, as much as she likes. Green tea/clear soups/warm water every 2 hours to wash away accumulated acids in stomach to avoid acidity. Seasonal vegetables and fruits to suit her constitution-as much as she likes. Gentle massage with any oil to improve circulation and to burn the fats. Yoga under a trainer or guidance of a cd or physiotherapist only 1 meal per day in evenings with less fats, more proteins like toned milk, curd & salads. Reduce weight @ 5 kg per month only. Do not reduce her calcium intake. Work like a team taking help of ortho, physio, nutition therapist.

All About Gestational Trophoblastic Disease

Gestational trophoblastic disease is a rare condition. It only happens when trophoblast cells abnormally grow inside the uterus. Also, this only happens after conception. These cells surround the egg which has been fertilized in the uterus. It is also worth note that the trophoblast cells usually connect the fertilized eggs to the uterus' walls and also form a part of the placenta. It is only when there is a tumor that this disease is diagnosed. There are many forms of gestational trophoblastic disease. Here they are:

Types:

  1. Complete hydatidiform moles
  2. Partial hydatidiform moles
  3. Invasive moles
  4. Choriocarcinomas
  5. Placental-site trophoblastic tumors (PSTT)
  6. Epithelioid trophoblastic tumors (ETT)

It is worth note that most of these diseases have different stages. The stage of how far the cancer has developed can be found out using the following techniques.
Testing for cancer:

  1. Chest X-ray: This is simply an X-ray of the chest.
  2. MRI: An MRI is an abbreviation of magnetic resonance imaging. It makes use of a form of magnet which transfers radio waves to a computer to find out what is going on within your body.
  3. CT scan: This is similar to an X-ray except that more detailed and larger pictures inside the body can be taken and the scan has a slightly different procedure. There are several ways to treat it depending on how far the cancer has spread into the body. Here they are:

Treatment:

  1. Surgery: Surgery is usually done while the mole is still non-cancerous. The chances of the mole becoming cancerous are increased by pregnancy. Therefore, it is crucial that you do not become pregnant until the surgery is complete.
  2. Chemotherapy: This is a less-ideal option but has to be taken if the mole has become cancerous.

If you have to lose weight, you might as well enjoy the process and do it in a healthier way. Following are ayurvedic tips for a healthier and systematic weight loss:

1. Hot water

Hot water combined with lemon juice and ginger or herbal teas acts as a natural detox. Sip on hot water throughout the day to cleanse your entire internal system from impurities and blockages. It helps to improve digestion and staves off hunger in between meals. It is one of the easiest ways to lose weight and stay healthy at the same time. It is advisable to drink boiled water as it is considered to be more effective than hot water.

2. Eat warm and cooked foods for lunch

Your lunch should consist of warm and cooked foods as they are easily digestible and provide the right amount of nutrients for your body. You can include a variety of cooked food in your lunch because the body metabolism gets adequate time to process the food. Eating cold food has a reverse effect on your body as they lead to weight gain. Avoid a diet consisting of only carbohydrates and proteins as they do not nourish your body but simply make you crave for food in between meals. Instead go for green vegetable and lean protein.

3. Light evening meal

The body metabolism and digestion slows down as you reach the end of the day so it's recommended to have light evening meals. Heavy meals in the evening are often poorly digested and accumulate as excess fat. All your efforts of weight maintenance throughout the day goes in vain if you eat a meal of processed foods or foods rich in refined carbohydrates. It is recommended to eat a vegetarian meal or a meal consisting of complex grains like brown rice. Avoid binging on leftovers and high calorie desserts.
 
4. Exercise

It goes without saying that exercise is a key to a healthy mind and body. Do away with a sedentary lifestyle as that is one of the primary causes of weight gain. If you don't have time to workout it will help even if you take a walk daily. Exercise will not only help you to lose the extra kilos but will keep your energy up and increase your body's metabolism. It also improves bone and muscle health.

Hello- No it not. Natural exercise such as dancing , sporting activities running etc. provides a smooth and from muscle tone to the each and every muscle of the body, so it will make your vagina tight and more flexible, which is good thing in the case of females. Today , i am going to reveal the 3 most easy tricks to keep yourself hale and healthy.

  1. Consume atleast 2 seasonal fruits ( Oranges/ black grapes/ strawberries). Donot worry these foods would not cause you cold. These fruits infact help you to safeguard against common cold owing to its rich nutrient content. Do consume it in fresh form .

  2. Toss up you salads and soups with lemon or amla juice as both are potent source of Vit C and antioxidants. Increase the intake of soup to control your hunger pangs

  3. Reduce the intake of Dairy products as it is known to produce cough especially in cold seasons.

Ensure you keep the area clean. Do not use soap or dettol locally. Drink 2.5 litres of water daily. Eat a well balanced diet. Avoid fried and junk foods. Use multivitamin supplements. You can use a local wash like intiwash and see if it helps. If nothing works you will need a course of antibiotics.

If you are overweight you need to reduce weight ; this is most important. Also get a hormonal assay and USG done to see if you have polycystic ovaries. Actual treatment will depend on these results. Usually a low dose hormonal pill is given to help regularise your periods.

8 Tips for Losing your Post-Baby Belly

1. Eat Frequent and Small Meals
Overeating has to be avoided to keep the metabolism in a high calorie burning state. Taking frequent and small meals, like five to six small meals throughout the day would be ideal.

2. Breastfeed
Reports suggest that breastfeeding helps in burning upto 500 calories a day, which would aid in losing those pregnancy pounds.

3. Drink lots of water.
Hydration is helpful for weight loss, helping digestion and suppressing appetite. Normally skin coils back quickly, when it is pressed. If it does not happen, it may be sign of dehydration. Target at least for eight-ten glasses a day depending on weather.

4.Snack Smart
Sugary or deep fried foods are to be avoided. Keep washed and cut fruit and veggies on hand for easy picking. Try frozen grapes or apples with peanut better for a satisfying alternative. Store your cupboard/refrigerator with high-fiber an low fat snack and dump the chips and ice-cream. The likelihood of eating unhealthy food increases if it is stored and easily accessible.

5. Eat lean protein
fatty meats may be replaced with leaner options like chicken and fish. In case of meats. Red meats are better than white meats. Fish is a rich source of omega 3 fatty acid which is helpful in many ways. Vegetarian options like soya chunks and skimmed mild are also good source of low fat proteins.

6. Think Ahead
With a baby at home it is sometimes hard to get time for cooking. Instead of bringing in outside food frequently, spend a few hours on sunday preparing food for the week if a maid is not available. Then divide it into individual servings and freez them. Help may be taken from family and friends to help you come back to action.

7. Get moving
A physiotherapist may help about easy exercise. Whenever it's time to get moving, take small steps to get started- try a walk around the neighborhood or look for local classes like post-partum yoga or aerobics, or even small walks with baby in a stroller. Try to bet 30 minutes of exercise, at least three time a week.

8. Load up on fiber
fiber not only makes you feel full, it also clears the bowels. Eat lots of soluble fiber foods such a oatmeal, fresh fruits and vegetables would be ideal.
