Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? (facility provided by lybrate. Com) try & loose some weight. It will possibly take care of your sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. For leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

First and foremost is to treat neuropathy by methycobalamine injection weekly one for 2-3 months and other vitamins as supplement. Then next to treat your prediabetic part by lifestyle modification by taking proper diet + exercises/physical activity. In Diet avoid binge eating, breat the food taking habit to decrease calorie intake. Take food 4 times daily but calorie intake should be low. Physical activity should be for an hour two times daily. Follow food pyramid.

I am 65 yrs old and an accident one year before. There were fractures in my pelvic bone. I was advised bed rest and physiotherapy. But now since last two months I am unable to sit at one place not more than half an hour. All my muscles are paining. I get tingling in the morning. Also suffering from fever which is 99 to 100, my routine is disturbed. I have done blood tests and on vit b 12 and d 3 injections. Almost now more than a month but no improvement. Kindly suggest what must be the reason and what medication I should take.

If u have fever, we have to find the cause of fever and site. Get hb, tlc, dlc, esr and pcr for tb and uric acid levels (blood tests). X rays of the painful joint will have to be done. Treatment will depend on the cause of fever. Get your bone density 3 sites. Done too, maybe pain is due to weak bones. The above scan will be done when you' re off calcium for a minimum of 3 days. Vitamin d and b12 supplementation will continue.

I am 78 and have a problem with my right knee. I can not afford a joint replacement. My both legs have developed black spots with severe itching. Blood tests are fine. Is there any cheaper solution? 8 years ago I had taken the magnetic treatment Cytotron but this too was not o much help. I am on thyronorm 100 mcg, Plavix and Ecosprin 75, I am allergic to egg and fish.

this back pain is due to no back exercise.... due to this muscle get stiff .... when suddenly you get move fast that time this stiff muscle get break and pain start..... in ayurved there is mentioned one procedure KATI BASTI ....DO THIS FOR FIVE DAYS WITH MEDICATED OIL if you want to do it you should do it under doctor observation .... so consult ayurvedic doctor near you ... you will definitely get good result ..

Please prescribe physical exercises to remove knee-pain being felt only on climbing or downing stairs. No pain during morning-walking for an hour.

I would suggest u incorporate static bicycling on a recliner bike for good 20 mins without resistance for 6 weeks and then see the change and then start adding resistance as suited.

If pain is not improving and numbness increasing, surgery may help, but if you want non surgical treatment try at least for 3 months before resorting to any other treatment.

I am 36-year-old man, I use to sit 8-10 hours infront of computer daily, sometimes have back pain and not sometimes, what should I do?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned backache as only problem you have right now. Since you are young, if you have only localized backache with no other associated symptoms like radiating leg pain, numbness, paresthesias etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping because sitting in front of computers for 8-10 hours requires your posture to be good otherwise you will start developing mechanical back issues. - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc in case you are having back pain. If you do not feel better with these measures in 2-3 weeks time, we will need to evaluate you further. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards

Tiredness may be due to indigestion, low hb and low bp. You may take at present arnica 200 (homeo medicine) thrice a day five drops each time with water only one day. After two days give me the report.

I am suffering from an ACL tear from past 6 months. For the first 2-3 months I was unserious about the tear but after that I consulted a doctor and he told me to consult physiotherapist and everyone agreed that it could repaired without surgery but after 2 months of physiotherapy their was only improvement of 1-2 % in ligament and knee started paining and before that in 3 months it never pained after that I consulted some other and stopped the physiotherapy now I am taking medicine of some other ortho doc from last 1 month and doing some strengthening exercises which he told bt I was experiencing pain in the need what should be done to get back on track as I am athlete .

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
