Hey! There is a white layer that has covered almost my tongue! What should I do to cure that! Please suggest me some remedies! Home remedy preferable!

BDS, MDS oral medicine
Dentist, Thrissur
From the description you said I feel its candidal (fungal infection) on tongue. It will be good if you can show a dentist and get a proper diagnosis. Once diagnosis is done it can be treated. If fungal infection there are lot of anti fungal drugs available as mouth paint which can be used under supervision of dentist. Home remedies I suggest get it diagnosed what it is then you can select which treatment suits you best. Improving oral hygiene and usage of mouth washes under dentist supervision can help you.

Dear lybrate-user, the bleeding gums and foul smell are due to accumulation of food debris, which is a result of inadequate maintenance of oral hygiene. I suggest that you get thorough professional cleaning/scaling done from a dentist, and use antibacterial mouthwashes thereafter. Following all these measures will solve your problem. You must also use medicated gum paint for healtheir gums. Regards.

How to solve the cavity problem?

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist,
Cavity or caries is a progressive process. Once it starts it can't be stopped. You should go for an x-ray. This will help to find out the extent of the cavity. If cavity is in outer layer filling will be done. And if it reaches to pulp rct will be the option.

Whenever anyone undergoes orthodontic treatment (braces), the teeth are shifted from their position to a new position. In doing so, the teeth undergoes remodelling in the bone. It takes a lot of time to complete. Till the remodeling process is over, your teeth will still be loose in their socket and will have a tendency to move. After your braces treatment, the orthodontist gives you a retainer which keeps your teeth in the corrected position. You should be having a fixed retainer behind your teeth which is supposed to be permanently there. Also, removable retainers for night time wear. If you are not using those or you don't have them, ask your orthodontist for it. Otherwise, your treatment will relapse and your teeth will shift back to its old position or may be worse.

I think this is the gap between the two molar. Food stucks in between the two molar & decays. So the other molar tooth is also infected. Pl. Consult Dentist nearby. Properly brushing two times. Gargles with warm water+salt two times is must. Avod chocklets, pestries, sweet things, smoking, tobacco, pan gutakha should be stopped if you're having.

Doctor, my teeth are green type pls tel me that how my teeth are wight in good smile. Answer me doctor.
Hi lybrate-user, for better looking teeth, the first and most important thing is that your teeth should be clean, and free from plaque (accumulated food debris) and stains. For that, you must get professional scaling/cleaning done from a dentist. After that, you can head for tooth whitening procedures such as bleaching and laser tooth whitening. Home remedies such as lemon peel and apple cider vinegar can be used, but being acidic in nature, they eventually wear off the outermost layer of teeth (enamel) making them weak in the long run. So better to go for trusted scientific procedures. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your query. The soreness over the gums and your mouth can be because of the aphthous stomatitis or lichen planus. Consult an oral physician and get it evaluated. Once the diagnosis is confirmed we can treat accordingly with topical anesthetics like lignocaine and topical steroids like triamcinolone acetoide. Do saline gargling. I hope I have answered your query. If you have any queries reply me back. Take care.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,
Sir in my teeth there is a big hole so please tell what should i do?
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.
