Health tips. Superfoods: nutrient rich food-soybeans. Whether eaten directly from their pods (aka edamame), topping a salad or mixed into a grain-based dish, soybeans offer tremendous healthy benefits, including complete plant-based proteins, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. The lean, readily available protein source is inexpensive, and you only need to consume a small amount to reap the nutritional benefits.

I had sex on the 30 the of December but my partner did not cum I side me I still had unwanted 72 but I had sex yesterday again that is 2 Jan do I need to take an ipill or you wanted 72 again? Are there chances for me to get pregnant?

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
You cannot take unwanted -72 with every act of unprotected intercourse. this will just lead to hormonal imbalance in your body and yes, it is not 100%effective also . You take this pill now but better resort to some other reliable method of contraception if you don't want to be pregnant.

I am 28 years old. I had my lmp on 16th april 2015. I checked on 24th may I was one week positive. After dat doctr started with folic acid and duphastone. Den I had a light brownish spot on 4th. Doctor gave hcg and increased the dose of duphastone and also gave susten 200 to keep in for 7 days. On 9th may I had my first ultrasound. In dat doctor could not see the heartbeat and foetal pole. She said I had a missed abortion. Please help shall I wait for some more time for the 2nd ultrasound or what should I do?

MBBS, MD Obs & Gynae, FNB Reproductive Medicine
Gynaecologist, Jalandhar
No harm in waiting for a week and repeating the ultrasound to see for cardiac activity to be sure. Was the scan done on 9th may or 9th june? If u otherwise have irregular cycles there may be all the more benefit of waiting. As on 9th june it is 6 weeks and 4 days pregnancy but its always wise to wait. No foetal pole however is a bad sign but waiting for 1 week will not do any harm

Am a married person & three years have gone, but after having many inter courses my wife has not yet conceived. Pl let me know as what will be the reason i. D because of less SEMEN going inside Or less food intake by both of us? When we approached the gynecologist they told us to go for DNA test so what is a DNA test for me & for her doctor has given a GEL which she has to apply Is t because I used to masturbate & in this connection I want to know as whether due to this Will this affect my family planning as I used to have sexual relationship with my wife but so far she has not become pregnant.

Homeopath, Bareilly
Less food intake and masturbation does not causes infertility. Dna testing is done to know the any genetic defect causing infertility. But before this other causes of infertility should be ruled out like blockage of tubes, defect in ovum formation, imbalance in hormone level, anatomical abnormality of genital tract, low sperm count and motility etc. If every thing is normal, tell her to lie down on bed for some time with legs high after intercourse.

Castor oil application will help but as far as possible please avoid anal sex as it is risky and addicting.

Dear user. FERTILE PHASE is the phase of a female's menstrual cycle when an egg (ovule) is released from the ovaries. In humans, ovulation occurs about midway through the menstrual cycle, after the follicular phase. The few days surrounding ovulation (from approximately days 10 to 18 of a 28 day cycle), constitute the most fertile phase. So if you have ejaculatory sexual inter course from day 10 from the first day of period and to day 20, the chances of pregnancy are much more. There are many determinants of pregnancy. You should be sexually matured. Your partner should be sexually matured. The period of your partner should be in the fertile stage. Her egg and your sperm cells should healthy enough. Then her uterus should be capable to get conceived. If all these were satisfied, the pregnancy could be a result. Take care.

Is there any medication or treatment in allopathy to cure male infertility. If yes then how long the treatment will go on Pls help us out.

Male infertility management shall depend on the severity and cause. There are certain medically & surgically correctable causes, and the remaining would require need of assisted reproductive techniques like intrauterine insemination and ivf.

On what time is the safest time to do intercourse with my partner from her period, what i'm trying to say is, we don't want pregnancy now, but i'm not satisfy with condom, so which time is the correct time to do intercourse in between 1 period to another period time.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, FCPS, DGO, Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning (DFFP)
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
This method is called" safe period" method and because of failure of method (high failure meaning more chance of pregnancy) it is called unsafe method. Even no condoms there are other methods so meet family planning advisor or gynaecologist and learn. To come to your question in a woman having regular 28 days period safe days are 1-10 and 17-28. Different type of periods need calculations.

I had protected sex with my husband 15 days before my periods. My date was 9 October. I had my periods by the date but those were not usual as they ended within two days. My periods were used to be for four days. I am feeling some headache also. Is there any chance of pregnancy. I am in doubt.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, FMAS, DMAS

Hello, As the intercourse was protected and you had your menses on time, pregnancy is unlikely and scanty menses can be stress induced, which is common.

How to have safe sex without using any protection (Condoms or Pills) and how many days we can have sex before or after period?

Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S)
Sexologist, Chennai
As we all know, the safest sex is with a disease-free partner in a mutually monogamous relationship. For some people, however, this is not a realistic option. The next best thing is to use condoms. Using a condom every time you have intercourse, and using it correctly, drastically reduces your risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Making careful choices when it comes to sexual partners is a key element of safe sex. Men who have sex with men, intravenous drug users, and former prisoners and their sex partners -- no matter what their sex -- are all at higher risk. Get to know your potential sex partner before you actually have sex. Talk to your partners about their sexual history, and about yours. Don't assume that younger partners are less risky. Quite the opposite. Two thirds of STDs are diagnosed in people under thirty-five. When it comes to safe sex, remember three rules: 1. Look out for yourself. Always. Don't depend on your partner for protection. No matter who your partner is or what your partner says, make sure you use a condom. No matter how it feels at the moment, don't take needless risks. 2. Talk before you act. Talk honestly and forthrightly with your partner about sexual history and safe sex before you ever get to the bedroom. Trust is an important part of sexual intimacy. 3. Don't believe your partner. As I just said, trust is an important part of sexual intimacy. Honest talks and full disclosure of past behaviors are essential for practicing safe sex. However, that isn't enough. Your partner may tell you in good faith that he or she has no sexually transmitted disease (STD), but he or she may be wrong. Since many STDs are "silent" (not apparent), a person may be unaware of the infection for years but still be capable of transmitting the disease. Also, many people have problems talking about STDs, a potentially embarrassing topic. Surveys show that a large percentage of people say that they would lie if asked about past sexual behavior. A recent study of sexually active human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive patients showed that four of ten had not told their partners about their disease status. Always wear a condom
