Hypertension is a lifestyle disease which require only a lifestyle solution and dietary changes and does not need medicines. They may have vested interests Detailed medical, dietary, occupational ,social, family, and environmental history taking is important to find the root cause. Reduce Salt, Reduce stress, Exercise daily-Sleep for 8 hours, reduce weight if you are over weight Has your Dr. done inflammatory panel tests, thyroid panel testing .Mineral and vitamin deficiency testing and their results. Get educated about the disease you have and question your doctor .You should have complete control over your health and not your Dr. Has your Dr. Excluded reversible causes of hypertension which when detected and treated completely reverses your BP otherwise you will be taking medicines lifelong unnecessarily without finding out the root cause. Always get at least 2 extra opinions about your disease management. So Get the Right tests done, so that you do not get bad surprises later. Get the Right Advice from the Right doctor who takes a detailed history and educates you before medicating you. Try to reverse your BP by diet and lifestyle and few food supplements without any medication. I am a Lifestyle, and wellness Consultant from USA . I treat the root cause and not the symptoms your high TGL needs only lifestyle and diet and not medicines Treat your personal trigger for high BP to fix the root cause and get off BP medications for ever provided you do not have any structural heart disease proved by cardiac tests like Echo, TMT etc.

Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Physiotherapy Treatment for Knee Pain!

Physiotherapy Treatment for Knee Pain!

Knee pain or injuries are very common and have numerous causes. Knee pain can emerge from delicate tissue wounds like ligament sprains and muscle strains. Bone conditions like knee joint pain, Osgood Schlatters, and biomechanical dysfunction can also cause knee pain. Treatment can include basic knee mobilization techniques, taping, massages or knee strengthening exercises completely through a careful recovery method after knee replacement or reconstruction.

Physiotherapy can help you overcome the pain and increase your strength and flexibility. A physiotherapist can suggest you a number of treatments and also help you understand your issue and get you back to your everyday routine. Physiotherapists are said to be successful in getting rid of the source of the knee pain by diagnosing a cause. This includes tightness around the knee and treating it with stretching and exercises.

Following are some of the exercises a physiotherapist might generally recommend for knee pain:

  1. Hamstring stretch: Stretching keeps you flexible and increases your scope of movement, or how far you can move your joints in different directions. It additionally helps you reduce your chances of injuries and pain. Continuously warm up with a five minute walk first. Lie down when you are prepared to stretch your hamstring. Circle a bed sheet around your right foot, use the sheet to pull the leg up and hold for twenty seconds and then lower the leg. Repeat twice and switch legs.
  2. Calf stretch: Use a chair for balance. Bend your left leg. Step back with your right leg and gradually straighten it behind you. Press your left heel toward the floor. You should feel the stretch in the calf of your back leg. Hold for 20 seconds. Repeat twice and then switch legs.
  3. Straight leg raise: It helps build muscle strength to give support to the weak joints. Lie on the floor. Twist your left knee, foot on the floor. Keep the right leg straight, toes pointed up. Tighten your thigh muscles and raise your right leg.
  4. Quad set: With these, you don't raise your leg. Just tighten the thigh muscles, also called the quadriceps, of one leg at once. Begin by lying on the floor. Keep both legs on the ground, loose. Flex and hold the left leg tense for five seconds and then relax. Do three sets of ten repetitions. Switch legs after every set.
  5. Cushion squeeze: This move strengthens your legs from the inside so that they can support the knees. Lie on your back, both knees facing inwards. Place a cushion or a pillow between the knees. Press your knees together, squishing the cushion between them. Hold for five seconds and then relax. Do three sets of ten repetitions. Switch legs after every set.
  6. Heel raise: Stand tall and hold the back of a seat for support. Lift your heels off the ground and rise on the toes of both feet. Hold for three seconds. Gradually lower both heels to the ground. Do three sets of ten repetitions. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Physiotherapist.

Your left vestibular apparatus which helps in maintaining equillibrium and posture when neck movements occur, seems to be at fault. There is misplacement of Calcium particles in the semi circular canals of this apparatus. You may need a special maneuver, called Epley maneuver to be done on your neck. This will need help of another person who understands this properly and then employs it exactly as directed. You may see this on YouTube by typing Epley maneuver in search and the follow the maneuver for Left side problem. See it many times, study the steps and then do it with assistance of another person.
