Usually, dental pain is because of infected pulp. And taking painkillers will not help much. If you need a permanent relief, you have to consult a dentist. Get your xray done and let him advice the necessary treatment. For the time being, you can take any drug having paracetamol 500 mg 2/3 times a day to manage pain. Remember, with medications pain will subside but it is not a permanent solution. Or may be you are suffering from sensitivity. Most of the time, pain stops in few mins if it is sensitivity problem. Consult a dentist & get your full mouth examination. There are many reasons to have sensitivity. Your doctor will prescribe you some desensitizing paste or he may advise you some fillings to treat the problem.

After Radiation for oral cancer, I got dry mouth and burning sensation on tongue, can it be restored? If could be restored then how?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Mouth dryness and burning sensation may continue after therapy. Salivary flow will gradually increase, but may not completely return to normal. To add moisture to your mouth it is helpful to Carry a water bottle to wet your mouth as needed.Drink at least eight glasses of water or juices per day.Keep caffeine at a minimum.Avoid alcohol and tobacco products.Moisten foods with gravies or sauces.Chew sugar free gum or suck on sugar free sour drops.Try artificial saliva.Ask your physician, dentist or nurse to recommend commercial products that are available for dry mouth.Use a cool moist vaporizer.

Hello lybrate-user, a histopathological examination will be run on this specimen. A pathologist studies the whole specimen, soft tissue and bone and provides a report. The surgeon looks for the margins of the resection to be ideally "free" of tumor, or "close" margins or "positive" margins. These margins refer to the involvement of the tissue by the cancer process. Also the lymph nodes from the neck are examined for involvement. Based on these results the surgeon further refers the patient for Radiation therapy in case of positive or close margins. Hope you find this helpful. I suggest you stay patient and wait for the report.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continuously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

Hello sir I am Rahul I am 20 yrs old man n I have suffering from cavity problem so what should I do.

BDS, MDS - Orthodontics
Dentist, Howrah
You need to get your cavities filled (restored) as early as possible, if the cavities are deep and have exposed the pulp then you would need to get root canal treatment (rct) done.
