CLEANING Cleaning your teeth is much better & healthier than deposits on teeth. You can be certain that the dentist could not remove enamel with his/her scaler (The cleaning kit). The more likely scenario is that the dentist will remove some calculus or tartar build up between & around the teeth that the gap was being filled in by it & henceforth removing the tartar successfully makes an existing space visible. The other scenario is that your teeth are beginning to move (shift). You may consult me in person. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Whether broken tooth can lead to oral cancer? Enamel has changed colour. How to make it white again?

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Chandigarh
Yes chronic irritation by a sharp broken tooth can lead to oral cancer, and also infection from that tooth can pass to nearby spaces and can lead to ludwig angina. Which can lead to death. And yes enamel can be whitened by dental bleeching.

Pediatric Dentistry!

Pediatric Dentistry!

PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY:- Pediatric dentists are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. They have the experience and qualifications to care for a child’s teeth, gums, and mouth throughout the various stages of childhood.

Children begin to get their baby teeth during the first 6 months of life. By age 6 or 7 years, they start to lose their first set of teeth, which eventually are replaced by secondary, permanent teeth.
Without proper dental care, children face possible oral decay and disease that can cause a lifetime of pain and complications. Today, early childhood dental caries—an infectious disease—is 5 times more common in children.

Treatments Provided for pediatric patient:

Provide comprehensive oral health care that includes the following:

• Preventive dental care including cleaning and fluoride treatments, as well as nutrition and diet recommendations
• Habit counseling (for example, pacifier use and thumb sucking)
• Early assessment and treatment for straightening teeth and correcting an improper bite (orthodontics)
• Repair of tooth cavities or defects
• Diagnosis of oral conditions associated with several diseases.
• Management of gum diseases and conditions including ulcers, short frenulae, mucoceles, and pediatric periodontal disease
• Care for dental injuries (for example, fractured, displaced, or knocked-out teeth)

How do I know if I have gum disease?

How do I know if I have gum disease?

How do I know if I have gum disease?
Gum disease is generally painless, even though it damages the bone supporting the teeth. Gum disease (gingivitis) will usually show itself as red, swollen gums that bleed when you brush or clean between your teeth. Many people are worried when they notice their gums are bleeding and then brush more gently, or stop altogether. In fact, it is important that you continue to clean regularly and thoroughly if you are to fight the gum disease. If the bleeding does not go away within a few days see your dental team to ask for their advice.

Home remedies and medications won't help much, pain will be reduced but to get rid of pain necessary treatment has to be done, I think caries has progressed deep and you may require Root canal treatment, kindly visit your nearby Endodontist soon.
