My face is so oily and I want oil free skin and glow on my face so what can I do for it.

My face is so oily and I want oil free skin and glow on my face so what can I do for it.
Dry and flaky skin is a common complaint in the winter time. Cold, dry winter air sucks the life out of silky, smooth skin. Other factors that contribute to dry skin include aging, nutritional deficiencies, and a genetic predisposition. There are many lotions and moisturizers on the market to combat dry skin. But most of them come with a big price tag. Natural home remedies are not only cheap, but also quite effective in nourishing and hydrating dry skin back to a healthy state. Milk cream the lactic acid present in milk cream helps exfoliate dry skin. The soothing nature of milk cream also helps preserve the skin? s delicate ph levels. Milk cream is also an excellent moisturizer mix a few drops of lemon juice, one teaspoon of milk and two teaspoons of milk cream. Rub it on your hands and legs. Leave it on for a while before you take a shower. Do this once daily add enough milk cream to three to four tablespoons of gram flour to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on your face, hands and legs. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do this once daily.

Symptoms And Treatment Of Boils!

MD - Dermatology, Fage, MBBS
Dermatologist, Delhi
Symptoms And Treatment Of Boils!

Boils are a bacterial infection that inflames the hair follicles. They are usually painful and filled with pus. Boils appear as red lumps and quickly fill with pus as days go by. They eventually rupture and drain. A cluster of boils at the same place or in patches is known as a carbuncle. In case a single boil makes an appearance in any part of the body, it should not rupture as it can quickly spread the infection in other parts of the body as well.

Symptoms:

Boils mainly occur in areas such as armpits, thighs, face, neck and buttocks. Their appearance mainly occurs in places covered with hair and tends t
o sweat a lot. Some of the common symptoms include red bump the size of a pea, reddish appearance of the skin near the bump, increase in size of the structure and eventually rupturing.

When to consult a doctor?

A doctor must be visited when there is more than one boil in a particular area. Some other areas of concern include:

  1. If the size of a boil is more than 5 centimetres.

  2. If the boil causes fever.

  3. If the boil doesn’t heal in more than a couple of weeks.

  4. If the boils increase in size and become extremely painful.

  5. If the boil appears on the face.

Risk Factors of Boils:

Boils are caused by a bacterium known as Staphylococcus aureus. They get entry to the skin where it is broken. Some of the common risk factors of this infection include diabetes, long-term infection, weakened immune system and other skin infection such as eczema, and acne.

Diagnosis:

A doctor is likely to diagnose boils just by having a look at it. In the case of any confusion, he might send the sample to a pathology lab for the purpose of testing. It is most likely to happen when the boil isn’t responding to any treatment. In case the boil becomes resistant to standard treatment, a doctor might take a different course of action.

Treatment:

Boils can be treated at home itself with a warm compressor. It not only relieves pain but helps in natural damage. If the boil doesn’t go away, a dermatologist must be consulted. On consultation, the dermatologist can make an incision in the infected area in order to drain the pus. For deep infections, the pus is drained with the help of sterile gauze. In case the boil is severe in nature, a doctor prescribes antibiotics to heal the infected area. For prevention, it should be ensured that the hand is washed frequently and especially so before a meal. The wound should be covered at all times and personal belongings should not be shared.

How to apply castor oil It’s best to use castor oil as a hair mask. This is particularly helpful if you’re trying to regrow hair or give it more moist and shine. 1. Castor oil has a thick consistency, so you can mix it with coconut oil, olive oil or jojoba oil in a half and half ratio. This will make the mask easier to distribute throughout your hair. 2. Use your fingers or a brush and start applying it onto your scalp with circular motions. This gentle massage increases the blood circulation, rejuvenates the hair, and stimulates hair growth. 3. Part hair into sections and apply the oil (mixture) to each section until all your hair is covered properly and evenly. 4. Wrap your hair in a warm towel (you can also use a shower cap) and leave it for two to eight hours. You can also leave it over night. This will give the oil enough time to penetrate the follicles and hydrate your scalp and hair thoroughly. 5. Wash your hair as usual using shampoo and conditioner. Make sure you rinse all the oil out of your hair. How often should you use castor oil? This depends on your objective and type of hair. If your aim is to treat hair loss, you will need to do it at least twice weekly, but even better if you can do it three or four times per week for several weeks. For split ends and increased shine, you can use the oil as a conditioner once weekly. Be careful not to use too much of it (a pea-sized amount should do) or you can end up with an over-oily scalp. For best results use unrefined castor oil, as it contains more nutrients and healing properties.

How Sugar Affects Your Skin?

How Sugar Affects Your Skin?

Unbeknownst, you often consume a much higher amount of sugar than you actually realize, as it is widely added in a very high number of foods and beverages. Research suggests that this excessive sugar consumption may ultimately be very harmful for your health - and that it may completely wreck your wishes for smooth and supple skin. Experts believe that overeating sugar can make your skin appear to be wrinkled or dull, and also lead to a host of other skin-related disorders. Here are the ways in which excessive sugar consumption affects your skin:

Causes inflammation:
Inflammation, caused by excess sugar intake, can be really damaging for the body - especially because it negatively impacts your immune system, and may lead to frequent breakouts on the skins and increased chances of pimples or warts.

Increases wrinkling:
Sugar's inflammatory properties not only lead to breakouts on the skin, but also cause wrinkles. Collagen, which is essential for healthy, supple skin, is broken down by sugar, which makes the skin look dehydrated and dull, also increasing chances of premature wrinkling.

Causes imbalances in blood sugar level:
Excessive sugar consumption causes irregularities in blood sugar levels by initially increasing sugar levels, which then reduces when insulin in released into your cells. It often ends up making you hungry, moody or shaky and increases stress levels leading to dull looking skin.

Leads to occurrence of acne:
Increased intake of sugar results in stimulation of hormone levels which raises sebum production and in turn affects growth of skin cells. This may be reason of acne.

Causes dehydration and irritation:
Sugar consumption in high amounts causes rashes or redness chiefly due to inflammation, which leads to yeast imbalances in your system. It also causes dehydration, by drawing out the water from your cells amounting to dry and puffy skin. Drinking adequate amounts of water and reducing sugar intake is essential in this regard. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
