Women: Keep Your Lady Parts Healthy

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Women: Keep Your Lady Parts Healthy (And Happy)

Every part of the body needs care in order for the entire body to work properly. And one of the most intimate parts on a woman?s body, should be no different. See some simple, but effective tips for vaginal health.

1. Wash with warm water only.
Maybe this may sound strange but PSA: your vagina hates soap! A healthy woman?s vagina stays quite clean on its own without the help of harsh chemicals and cleansers. Like many parts of the body, your vagina has a pH level that needs to be maintained. Soap and other cleansers such as douches or feminine sprays not only create an imbalance in your pH often causing the growth of unhealthy bacteria, they rid your lady parts of the good bacteria that helps you fight off infections! So ladies, lets not underestimate the power of H2O.
2. Stay EXTRA clean during your period.
Your chances of getting a vaginal infection increases when you are menstruating due to the blood and pH imbalance that comes because of it. When your time of the month comes make sure you are being even more cautious of your hygiene habits, especially when it comes to how long you are wearing sanitary items. Make sure you are changing your tampons and pads several times a day.
3. Wear cotton underwear.
Cotton underwear dries quickly and allows air to flow freely through the fabric. This prevents the development of damp conditions that promote the growth of yeast and unhealthy bacteria that might lead to an infection. Underwear made from synthetic fabrics, silk, lace or other materials doesn?t breathe as well. F you like wearing underwear made from fabrics other than cotton, make sure the section of the underwear that will be touching your vagina has a cotton liner.
4. Pee after sex.
At the very least, pee after sex, even if you intend on washing, too. When you have sex, unwanted bacteria can travel up the urethra, which is connected to your bladder. Peeing after sex can help flush the bacteria out of the vaginal area, promoting general health and helping you avoid UTIs.
5. Eat lots of fruit.
Cranberries, pineapples, strawberries and other fruits help to freshen the smell of the liquids secreted by the vagina. Eating fruits won?t make your vagina smell like a tropical island, but it can help you develop a more pleasant scent if that?s something you?re concerned about. Fruit also has a high water content, and staying hydrated helps flush the body of toxins that can lead to bad smells.

My female friend of age 23 years had her successful marriage few days ago, they want to enjoy their married life not ...
If they had intercourse during her fertile period that is 12-16 day of her periods then chances of pregnancy are more. Like if she had periods on 5 Jan then her fertile periods is 5+12=17. 17-21 Jan is her fertile periods when she has maximum chances of getting pregnant.

Dr. I am suffering from irregular periods. What to do. What can be the cause of this.

Dr. I am suffering from irregular periods. What to do. What can be the cause of this.
The exact cause cannot be known without a detailed investigation. In most of the women it's normal to undergo some irregularity in menstrual periods at some point in life. So focus on eating healthy food (balanced diet) with more of natural foods and less of junk and processed foods. Have daily fruits and vegetables which are easily available in the market. (have organics if possible ). Exercise everyday as it can naturally balance your hormonal secretions. Sleep properly (7-8 hrs daily ). Learn yoga which is the best option to invest your time for overall well being. Please go for regular medical check up with your doctor at least once a year. Go for some basic tests along with thyroid tests. If needed you can add Homeopathy later. Homeopathic medicines can stimulate the healing in a natural way without any side effects. You can contact me online for the details.

Ailments From Change Of Weather

Ailments From Change Of Weather
  • Temperatures are beginning to rise gradually and soon we will be welcoming summers. But this change of weather phase often leads to a fresh spurt of infections mainly viral with symptoms such as headaches, bodyache, cough cold and flu like symptoms. Also respiratory and skin allergies tend to get worse at this time.
  • With the days being hot and nights and early mornings cold it is difficult for the body to adjust to the environment. It is essential that we keep warm at these times to avoid sudden temperature drop in the body and exposing it to infection.
  • Also eat healthy and avoid outside food at all times. Keep away from cold water and cold drinks yet. It will again mess up with your body temperature.
  • There are quite a few homeopathic medicines which help in ailments from change of weather, or cloudy weather, or when the days are hot and nights cold.
  • It is advisable to take homeopathy treatment for chronic or frequently repeating ailments as they can be kept at bay with homeopathic treatment.

Healthy women, below 38 years old, with normal follicular status at day 3 of the menstrual cycle, have AMH levels of 2.0 - 6.8 ng/ml (14.28 - 48.55 pmol/L). High levels are found in patients with PCOD. So you are normal.

When you get the blood tests done, get your fasting blood sugar, post prandial blood sugar, cardio lipin antibodies, lupus anti coagulant (CLA, LAC), thyroid profile done too. Review with these tests.

15 Questions You've Always Wanted to Ask Your Gynaecologist

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Noida
15 Questions You've Always Wanted to Ask Your Gynaecologist

There are many questions a woman may have in mind for her gynecologist, but never asked them. Here are 15 such questions along with their solutions.

  1. Does my vagina smell unpleasant?: You should shower it with water and gently wipe it with a wash cloth before any test. Applying perfume makes the smell even worse.
  2. What to do in case the feet stink?: You should wear fresh and clean socks before going for the test and getting in the stirrup, which is a metal device for convenience of gynaecological tests.
  3. In case of a period, should I cancel my test appointment?: A gynaecologist is not afraid nor disgusted by blood as blood is a part of the specialist's profession. If you have heavy bleeding, you can call up the nurse for suggestions.
  4. What if the doctor or nurse judges my body?: Your gynaecologist does not care about your body and is more concerned about your problems and how to solve them.
  5. What if my legs are unshaved?: Your gynaecologist really does not care about your legs or underarms or any part of your body. Your problem is the only concern for the doctor.
  6. What if my shaved hair looks ugly?: As stated before, the gynaecologist is only concerned about your problem and nothing else. Use a sharp razor to prevent bumps or ingrown hair.
  7. What is the speculum?: It is a device used by your gynaecologist for opening your vagina in order to observe the cervix or look for infections on the vaginal wall.
  8. Why do I urinate in my pants if I sneeze, laugh or cough?: This is a common phenomenon for women who have given birth and is easy to treat.
  9. Is my vaginal discharge normal?: Having a small amount of white vaginal discharge is quite normal.
  10. What does the gynaecologist check inside my vagina using hands?: The bimanual exam is done using the hands to detect problems in the uterus.
  11. What if I do not like birth control means?: There are over 50 methods of birth control and many pills you can choose from.
  12. Can I ask about my sexual problems?: Absolutely yes, as it is quite an important issue.
  13. Can my partner or family accompany me to the test?: Yes, they can, but during the time of the test, they should leave the room.
  14. Can I discuss my relationship problems?: Your gynaecologist should know about any issue you are having.
  15. If I am having forced sex, should I tell? :Such matters should be conveyed immediately.

You can ask your gynecologist any question, which bothers you, without fear.

Dear Sir/madam, By doing oral sex (licking vagina) can I give satisfaction to my wife? Because she likes only this.

Diploma in Family Medicine, M.Sc - Psychotherapy

Well, if she likes and you like it. There is no problem at all. Always have clear discussion with your partner. Pleasing the partner in certain ways may rip you a lot of benefits in the future. Just make sure, it does not become just an one-sided gesture!
