Hello, sinusitis is a common affliction these days occuring as a result of either a structural deformity in your nose cavity or complication of diseases like common cold. The problem you are facing can be solved adequately by a proper course of antibiotic, nasal decongestants and steam inhalation. However if the symptoms persist, or if you problem is because of some structural deformity such as a nasal polyp, surgery maybe necessary. In case of repeated attacks of sinusitis, please consult a qualified ent specialist to seek out the cause. For this, a nasal endoscopy may be necessary. Please go prepared for that. Thank you.

It might be a case of tinnitus and after clinical examination if the cause is not treatable than you will have to live with it.

Hello and welcome to lybrate, regarding your condition, but might lead to inflammation and infection. Sometimes complete block also occurs. Looking at condition and reports if your doctor advises surgery, then it will be better for you to undergo the surgery. Thanks and take care.

Hello, I am 22 years old male, recently I started having a slight burning sensation inside my throat when I am eating something. After going online and looking based on symptoms, I find it is something related to acid reflux. Is it something serious? What can I do to stop it?

Hello- yes burning sensation is duue to acid reflux from the stomach generally occurs due to over eating, eating spicy foods, junk foods, indigestion, waking up late at night, using pain killers and antibiotics etc. Yes it can be serious as it can cause ulcer in your digestive tracts. Follow these tips- 1. Avoid the above factors. 2. Take a cardomom with clove for instant relief. 3. Drink cold milk as it dilutes the acid and decreases the reflex. 4. Use amlapitta mishran 2 tsp twice before meals.

I am 52 year old man. My left nostril seems to be partially blocked. But sometimes breathing is normal. I am very often feeling pain in left side of my head and neck. I could feel flow of liquid like sputum from back head through neck. I can collect in my throat and spit out. I am suffering by this nearly ten years. I saw many doctors alopathy.

This could be because of a nasal septal deviation along with sinusitis. Treatment for this is readily available and successful. Kindly consult an ent specialist and if required get a ct scan done to find out the nature of the problem. Regards.

3 Exercises to Prevent Snoring

3 Exercises to Prevent Snoring

Just like there are exercises to lose weight, there are simple exercises, which you can do to stop your snoring completely. Snoring is a common condition and it generally takes place more in men than women. It mostly affects individuals who are overweight and the condition gets worsened with age. Though it is not a serious condition, it has to be dealt as it affects the sleep of your sleeping partner. The main cause of snoring is an improper flow of air through the mouth or nose.

The airflow to the nose is obstructed by factors like:

  1. Obesity
  2. Pregnancy
  3. Genetic factors
  4. Sinus Infection
  5. Congestion

How to Prevent Snoring:
It is very essential that prior attention is given to this condition before it turns out to be a serious problem. The self help  tips that can be used by individuals to stop snoring include proper exercising, losing weight, quitting smoking and not drinking alcohol as well as setting up an ideal sleeping pattern. There are devices available in the pharmaceutical stores like the mouth guard device which are specially designed to help stop snoring. There are medications also available that help to stop snoring and have good quality  sleep.

Amazing and Simple Exercises to Stop Snoring:
You can cure your snoring problem easily by practicing vocal exercises without the need of even going through a painful and expensive surgery.

  1. Singing: Singing is an excellent exercise that is very good for your vocal passage and that can cure the snoring problem. It is best that you start singing in a warm shower and the moist steam of the warm water would soothe your throat. The benefit of singing is that it tightens the muscles and it is an excellent and natural way that would cure your sleeping problem. You can practice singing at least 20 minutes in a day, and you would surely experience the difference.
  2. Yawning: The second simple exercise that can be done to stop snoring is yawning, which involves opening and closing of your mouth. The exercise done in a yawning motion would strengthen both the inner and outer neck muscles. It is very necessary that the mouth is opened widely, and this activity can be done anytime of the day.
  3. Chewing: The third exercise that is helpful to get relief from sleep disorders is chewing. You can fix your throat by chewing the tip of a pencil.  You don't have to bite the pencil, and you just need to fix your throat muscles to make certain that your airway is clear. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ent Specialist.

There are two groups of antibiotics. Bactereostatic. Means they stop the germ to multiply and hence infection can not grow. The other group is called bactericidal. This means it kills the germ. Lincomycin belongs to the first and amoxycillin to the second. Customarily we prefer not to combine drugs from these the groups {except while treating duodenal ulcer by h. Pylori where amoxycillin and clarithromycin (bactereostatic) are used.}. I would suggest you to notify your doctor that you are already taking a course of lincomycin which perhaps you forgot to inform him.
