1. Do warm saline gurgling 3-4 times daily 2. Take Viscodyne D syrup 2tsf thrice daily 3. You may have to take antibiotic along with it if no relief and carry out investigations like Blood for CBC,ESR ,X ray chest after consulting doctor 4.Avoid smoking if you smoke 5. consult me for further advice

Had a heart attack in october 2012, one stent was put in and then my mitral valve started leaking, had my mitral valve replaced in October 2014 by amechanical valve. My ef rate has come done from 35 to 25, what could be the reason for this?

Mitral insufficiency always overestimates the LVEF plus post MVR if the chordal preservation is not done properly, EFs do come down by 5-10%. Is this LVEF making you symptomatic

Having low cholesterol is a sign that your arteries are healthy. However, atherosclerosis, the buildup of cholesterol on the walls of arteries, happens naturally throughout a lifetime. Ways to reduce the speed of buildup is to reduce overall saturated fat intake. Saturated fats have been shown to increase LDL (low density lipoprotein) levels, whose function is to carry fats and cholesterols through the blood vessels. This is necessary because fats and cholesterol are lipids, and cannot dissolve freely in water, or in this case, blood. During times of stress, the cholesterol becomes sticky due to cortisol and sticks to walls of arteries, over time, this buildup can clog arteries. (this is one reason stress is affiliated with poor cardiovascular health). In contrast, regular exercise and a healthy diet have been shown to increase HDL (high density lipoprotein) levels. Their function is to clean cholesterol from arteries for various uses, such as producing bile in the liver. So to sum it all up, having good cholesterol levels ie. high HDL to LDL ratio, is a good indicator that your arteries are in good condition, however it can't tell you for certain that there isn't some atherosclerosis taking place.

Dear lybrateuser, -first try to stop smoking completely since one or two cigarettes occasionally can lead you to more numbers slowly -slowly -for your problems take a healthy diet & do regular exercises --eat vegetables, fruits, whole grain foods like oats, dalia, dairy products like milk, eggs, paneer, nuts, non-veg like fish, chicken, have yoghurt daily -start doing exercises to increase your strength & stamina, do brisk walking, jogging, swimming, yoga, after sometime your problems will go away.

this is a common problem now. Most important is do an annual health check up particularly SUGAR,BLOOD PRESSURE,CHOLESTEROL,THYROID,ECG etc.as these diseases don't have any symptoms ,people ignore it.

1. For your age pain chest could be due to anxiety, stress, depression, physical and mental strain, hyper acidity, muscular problem 2. Avoid stress and strain 3. Do regular exercise, reduce your weight if over weight. 4. Control your diet. Avoid oily/spicy/fried and junk food, high calorie and cholesterol rich diet. Take small frequent meals (5-6 meals/day instead of three heavy meals. If you have hyper acidity take one tablet of pan 40 in the morning before breakfast daily for few days 5. Do yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercise like pranayama etc. It will calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve stress. 6. Have sound sleep for 7-8 hours daily. 7. Avoid smoking, alcohol, excess tea/coffee, if you are having 8. Drink plenty of water and take rest 9. Takecrocin advance one tablet sos after food up to a maximum of three tablets per day at the time of chest pain 10. If you have recurrent attack of chest pain check your bp, take ecg, x ray chest and consult physician for advice and treatment.

No, It is not true. Only some medicines of thyroid disorder or diabetes are taken empty stomach.You can take the hypertension medicines after meals.

If you cardiac tests all came out negative, it could be caused due to anxiety and stress. You may need medications for that but try these as a first resort. Tips to reduce anxiety and stress 1. Sleep well and regular. Irregular sleep can have some serious consequences. It affects both our physical health and also contributes to anxiety and stress. Anxiety as such also leads to disruptions in sleep. When feeling anxious, always try to get a full 7 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep and it can work wonders to improve your condition. 2. Always keep smiling. Take a quick break in between your hectic work to get some laughs with your friends. Laughter can reduce depression and anxiety and has proven benefits. 3. Tidy up your living space or workspace. Keep your things clean and clutter-free. That helps us think clear and thus reducing levels of anxiety. 4. Say thank you often. Expressing your thanks for something helps reduce anxiety. 5. Eat smart. Eating more of foods which are rich in vitamin b and omega-3 fatty acids and also healthy whole grain carbs. As portal hypertension usually manifests with chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis in dogs, please evaluate the hepatic enzymes and function. Check if there is any ascites as well. You get commercially available hepatic diets. Alternatively you could choose sodium restricted low fat and protein, but balanced carb food - which however is difficult to formulate.
