I am 6.2 feet tall, Gym free, but from some days by back is aching. I alsk used the back support belt still no relief. Tried some google and found some exercises little bit relieved but not fully recovered. What should I do next. Bed rest or some physiotherapy.

What would help you may be a course of 10 days of physio in a clinic. You take. Will relieve your pain. Then slowlyand ift or ust. That will first reduce your pain and then start on exercises. Exercises have to be taught bu the physio. So tht yo the right you do it the right way. As of now start a hot water fermentation for our back. The pain will reduc slowly.

Hi, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc and with no other associated constitutional symptoms like evening rise in temperature, loss of weight, excessive sweating at night etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Hello lybrate user, - try to look at the cause why you are getting that pain - initially you have to change the lifestyle like sitting straight while working travelling, avoiding sudden jerks or humps during two wheeler driving - adopt some exercises which relaxes your back muscles and bones - it's difficult to say whether it's muscles relaxed or bone related just by symptom of pain both of that may go chronic - better to go for application of mahanarayana taila with sahacharadi taila and hot fomentation for 15 min or go for kati basti it's an ayurveda panchakarma treatment, with this you will relieve better thank you.

Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for Back Pain:-Along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight. Hello, medication like methylcobalamine with muscle relaxant and analgesic will reduce pain; you can take them. I will advise to check your vit b12 and vit d3 level. Hope this answers your query. I have started morning running+walking from yesterday. And when I go today and started running then I was getting pain in my leg muscles. I was not able to run and only walk slowly and come back. But I want to continue it don? t want stop but also I want to release from this pain every day. Want to tell you that my age is 29, height is 5. 1 and weight is around 50 kg. I am not under weight and not over weight but still I have little fat on my waist. I have little belly fat and having two fat wrinkles on my waist. Also my stomach is not flat, I am having belly fat. I want to remove it totally. I am going to get married after 1 month and want to wear lehenga and sari. For that I have to remove my fat. Kindly suggest how can I remove my belly fat and how can I release my leg pain with continue running.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You appear to be a very determined to be bride. Anyway what I understand from your history is that you have 2 issues: one is leg pain and other is belly fat. Your leg pain started because your leg muscles are not used to this kind of load. Normally you should always start with less and increase it gradually over a period of time with regular muscle strengthening. Also you need to do a pre-exercise regime wherein you stretch your muscles and do a light warm up before actually starting to run. Normally it builds up over a period of time, but process has to be a slow and a steady one. Now since you have pain: please start with ice packs, limb elevation, restriction of your physical activity tom as much as possible, gentle otc anti-inflammatory as per your suitability. Your pain should settle in about 5-7 days time. Your weight in any case is not much, so do not worry about burning those extra calories please. Back problems could be bacause of a lot of reasons, bad posture, muscle weakness, heavy weight lifting, trauma or accident. You should go to an orthopaedic surgeon and ascertain the cause first. If medicines are not giving you any relief may be you have weak back muscles for which you should learn some exercises and do them daily. Visit a physiotherapist and get your back assessed. Also maintain a good posture. Avoid sitting for a long time, take small breaks, get up and walk, do exercises for back, avoid heavy weight lifting.

When leg pain occurs after strenuous physical activity, you can simply apply cold compresses. This will help reduce the pain by numbing the affected area and control swelling and inflammation. 1. Wrap a few ice cubes (or a bag of frozen peas) in a thin towel. 2. Apply this pack on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes, while keeping the leg (s) elevated. 3. Do this a few times a day. Note: do not apply ice directly on the skin, as it may cause frostbite. Also take mag phos 6x - twice daily. Consult me for homeopathic treatment. Check for uric acid problems if found that you need to take low purine diet. There are many lifestyle and dietary guidelines that can be followed to protect against future flares or prevent gout from occurring in the first instance: maintain a high fluid intake (2-4 liters a day) avoid alcohol maintain a healthy body weight eat a balanced diet limit fish, meat and poultry intake. If attempting to lose weight, avoid low-carbohydrate diets. If carbohydrate intake is insufficient, the body is unable to burn its own fat properly, releasing substances called ketones into the bloodstream. This results in a condition called ketosis that can increase the level of uric acid in the blood. It is most important to avoid foods that are high in purines, to ensure that the levels of uric acid in the blood do not get too high. Take healthy n protein rich diet ..avoid oily spicy and junk food ...drink plenty of fluids take fruit diet only once a week...massage your body before bath twice a week with coconut oil..exercise daily or walk 1-2 km daily early morning.
