Healthy Summer Diet Plan

Summer is at its peak and the mercury level is rising by a notch every day. The scorching sun gives even more reasons to constantly hunt for some cooling and soothing foods which can comfort us. It is the time of year when you get dehydrated easily due to excess sweat and perspiration and that's the time when you want to reach out for something cold like sodas, beverages or even cold water. This is where we go wrong because anything extremely low in temperature can actually constrict our blood vessels and affect the heat loss process in our body. Here are a few tips you need to keep in mind to keep yourself cool:

  1. Increase your water intake: In high humidity conditions, you do not sweat adequately due to which you cannot release heat efficiently from your body. That is the reason why you need to drink enough water at regular intervals even if you are not thirsty to cool your system.
  2. Have eatables high in water content: Eat a lot of fresh fruits, raw salads and lightly spiced foods. Fruits and veggies are easy to digest and high in water content and hence help in hydration. Avoid fried and junk foods as they take time to digest and require a lot of water. Spicy foods can also increase body heat.
  3. Grab naturally cooling drinks: Drink naturally cooling beverages like coconut water, lemon juice, buttermilk and sugarcane juice, etc. Rather than aerated soft drinks, caffeine, and alcoholic beverages as they contain sugar and other preservatives which act as diuretics and can cause loss of water from the body. You can add sabja (tulsi seeds) to drinks as it has a cooling effect on the body.
  4. Have curd: Curd is excellent as it increases friendly bacteria in the gut and improves digestion and boosts immunity.
  5. Include veggies in diet: Add veggies like cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, spinach, beet etc to add to the extra water in your diet.
  6. Small meals: avoid heavy meals at one time as it can cause acidity and affect digestion. Rather eat small meals to feel light and keep your system active.
  7. Don't forget raw mango: In the summer season, raw mango is a special fruit and is extremely good to prevent sunstrokes and weakness. Raw mango juice also known as aam panna can help balance electrolytes in the body. You can also have raw mango in any form like adding it in bhel, salads or making a dish out of it.

You can divide your day's meals as per regular timings like:

Breakfast: 2-3 fresh fruits (this can help to neutralize your stomach acids and make you feel light and active as they are natural sources of energy).

  • Mid morning: a glass of buttermilk/ coconut water (to refresh you).
  • Lunch: salads + 1-2 rotis + veggies + thin dals (you can add or subtract the rotis as per your appetite and requirement).
  • Evening: fruit yoghurt/fruit smoothie (they are filling, nourishing and cooling).
  • Dinner: stir fried veggies/ chilled soups + grilled chicken/ steamed fish/ low fat paneer/ tofu + jaljeera/ lemon juice (to keep your dinner light and help you wake up afresh).

Stick to the plan and stay cool this summer!

I have geographic tongue and fissures which makes me uncomfortable for past 6 years. Is there any remedy to that. Even tired zinc and vitamin tables. No use.

Geographic tongue and fissured tongue are two different conditions of tongue, but both of them are almost asymptomatic. So, there is no pain or discomfort in these conditions. If you are having any discomfort please visit a Dentist for some topical ointments or gels. But the conditions are asymptomatic. No need to worry.

I am suffering from nightfall then it goes daily in the night then how can I come back from this doses.

Nightfall or wet dreams is a very common occurrence among men, especially among adolescents. 1. Should start jogging or brisk walking for at least 30 minutes every day. 2. Should avoid consumption of any liquid for at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 3. Should go for urination just before going to bed. 4. Should avoid watching porn or erotic chats etc. 5. Start listening to soothing music which gives peace of mind and gives soothing effects like the meditation gives. 6. Should start reading good books at the time to keep the brain relaxed for a sound sleep. 7. If nightfall happens then one should not worry about this, because if people keep on thinking about nightfall or have the fear of night fall at the time of sleeping then you get more chances to have the night fall again. 8. Should avoid constipation because an upset digestive system also sometimes causes night fall. 9. If the person is having the habit of taking milk at night then they should take milk in the evening instead of at night. 10. Start doing masturbation once in awhile may help control nightfall.

Hi, take tab. Dolo 650 mg 1-1-1 after food for 1-2 days. Keep recording your temparature. If it is too high, do tepid sponging. Wear loose cotton garments. Drink plenty of fluids. Consume light and easily digestable food. Drink boiled and cooled water.

You do this small exercise: sleep with legs raised up from waist against the wall making 90 degree angle straight with wall for 10-15 mins. And sleep calmly without any thoughts. Your headache will be relieved with 10 mins and you will get sleep too. And have light food and more water.

I am 30 weeks pregnant. I am feeling too much discomfort and pain in my chest. May be because of the baby pressing the diaphragm. The pain is intolerable. And making me cry and is more intense when lying on bed even in the side position. Cannot sleep because the discomfort. Its severe.

My daughter has got grade 2 anterolisthesis in her L5-S1 vertebrae. What exercise should she do?

Anterolisthesis is another term for spondylolisthesis. Anterolisthesis is a spine condition in which the upper vertebral body, the drum-shaped area in front of each vertebrae, slips forward onto the vertebra below. The amount of slippage is graded on a scale from 1 to 4. Grade 1 is mild (less than 25% slippage), while grade 4 is severe (greater than 75% slippage). Patients are advised to stop the activity or sport that evokes the back pain for up to 12 weeks, and may need a brace if pain is not adequately relieved. Usually most orthopedic experts recommend a non-operative management to begin with. Customized exercise and pain management programs to help the patients to get back to as normal as possible pain-free life. These programs generally (2-3 times/week) last for approximately 1-2 months based on individual response. These consist of electrical stimulation, ultrasound, or modalities such as massage, heat, manual therapy, ice, and graduated core stabilization and strengthening exercises to recondition the back and abdominal muscles. Re-aligning the spine by postural training, ergonomic changes to decrease straining at work, injury prevention, back safety education on proper lifting and repetitive motion, support braces as needed, breathing/relaxation techniques to reduce pain & muscle tension and, and lifestyle modifications are other strategies often employed. Operative management may be needed in some of the following situations - If a trial of non-operative management fails, - if dynamic radiological assessment shows excessive abnormal mobility of the involved verteba (during flexion and extension, or - if there is progressive neurological deficit. So far exercises in this condition are concerned, they should be customized as per individual. In general, when there has been slippage, the vertebrae tends to slip "forward" (towards the belly button) over the one below it. Due to the structure of the lumbar spine, it just makes sense that the vertebrae would slip "forward" and not "backward" Don't do any bending forward. Do a lot of extension exercises (arching the back) But keep the arching within limits, because extreme arching for is not good.

* you can take methi seeds water to control sugar. (overnght saoked 1tsp methi seeds in 1 glass of water and take it nxt morning) * take more of veggies in your diets and fruits which are low in sugar are- apple, papaya, gauva, jamun. * take plenty of water (2.5-3 litres per day) * avoid skipping of meals. * choose whole grain like - jowar, bajra, oats, barley, ragi, wheat. * take 3-4 almonds and walnut (1/2) (overnght saoked)

First of all you should follow some basic thing 1.avoid=hot and cold at time 2.less the sugar as much as possible if you want to eat sweet take juggery which is black not drink water after meal drink at the time of meal sip by sip up to 150 ml 4.avoid late night sleep 5.panchamrut parpati 1 tab before lunch and dinner 6.audumbaravleha 2 tsp before lunch and dinner.

For her lower platelets please give her juice extracted from papaya leaves 1 teaspoon of it in morning. Continue it for a month. Her platelets will start increasing within 2-3 days only.
