Child is having autism. His weight -15 kg, age-5 years old. Please suggest a diet.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Mumbai
Autism spectrum disorders (asd) are developmental disorders that affect children by disrupting their ability to communicate and interact socially. To reduce a child's symptoms of autism, parents often try alternative treatments such as specialized diets. Lately, the gluten-free/casein-free diet has grown in popularity. Some parents report improvements in autism symptoms with this dietary regimen. Little research has been done, though, on the gluten-free/casein-free diet for autism. When following this strict elimination diet, all foods containing gluten (found in wheat, barley and rye) and casein (found in milk and dairy products) are removed from the child's daily food intake.

There are 2 different thing 1.-fracture ankle2.-numbness in ankle .numbness may be because of uncontrolled diabetic status for which he need diabetes control & take neurotrophic drugs I think surgery is advised for neglected fracture ankle which is causing painful ankle now.

I was suffering from viral, doctor advised me paracetamol, on third day the temperature goes up to 103 , doctor advised on phone to take Meftal 250 mg, in the next early morning I was having stomach pain, extreme gas ,and I fainted for few seconds and my son told me I have seizure for few seconds, 5-6 seconds, I never have seizure anytime before, doctor said it might be due to dehydration as I was not eating and drinking fluids much or due to reaction of Meftal medicine. I am better don't have any fever, does that seizure require serious attention? Do I need to worry?

Though the seizure in your case has a fair explanation on the basis if your medical condition (notably hypoglycemia due to loss of appetite and electrolyte imbalance due to dehydration), still it is advisable to completely investigate any" first episode of seizure" consult a physician, get a baseline eeg done and other investigations if necessary to rule out all possible causes of such episode, apart from your medical condition. Take care.

Depends on the cause. If its due to hyperthyroidism treatment may be shortterm but if its familial that is genetic than life long treatment may be needed.
