I just recently discovered cunnilingus, pls tell is it safe sex, what precautions do we take before doing it.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Cunnilingus is safe kind of sex as compared to vaginal or anal sex. Chlamydia, human papillomavirus (hpv), gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis (multiple strains), and other sexually transmitted infections (stis/stds), can be transmitted through oral sex if the partner is infected with any one of these. But carrying these kind of diseases in a known partner is extremely rare. Risk of sti infection, however, is generally considered significantly lower for oral sex than for vaginal or anal sex, with hiv transmission considered the lowest risk with regard to oral sex.

Homeopath, Pune
Swine flu (swine influenza) is a respiratory disease caused by viruses (influenza viruses) that infect the respiratory tract of human beings. It is an infection caused by any one of several types of swine influenza viruses. Swine influenza virus is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs. The known strains include influenza C and the subtypes of influenza A known as H1N1, H1N2, H2N1, H3N2 and H2N3.

Causes Top

The cause of swine flu is an influenza A virus type designated as H1N1. It has this designation or name because of the two major antigens (H and N) detectable on its surface by immunological techniques (H or hemagglutinin and N or neuraminidase).

Those at higher risk of catching it in general include those with the following:

Age of 65 years or older
Chronic health problems (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease)
Pregnant women
Young children

Symptoms Top

Symptoms of swine flu are similar to most influenza infections or are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing.

Some people have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Symptoms may include all or some of the following : Fever (100 F or greater), cough, nasal secretions, fatigue, headache, sore throat muscle pains, lethargy, runny nose and weakness. Some patients also get nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite and diarrhea.

Some patients develop severe respiratory symptoms and need respiratory support (such as a ventilator to breathe for the patient). Patients can get pneumonia (bacterial secondary infection) if the viral infection persists, and some can develop seizures. Death often occurs from secondary bacterial infection of the lungs.

Environmental Factors Responsible Top

Season – Seasonal incidence is striking, epidemics of swine flu usually occurring in winter months in the northern hemisphere and in the winter or rainy season in the southern hemisphere.

Overcrowding – It enhances transmission. The attack rates are high in close population groups such as schools, institutions, metro stations, hospitals.

Mode of Transmission Top

Swine flu spreads mainly from person to person by droplet infection or droplet nuclei created by sneezing, coughing , talking , touching infected objects, touching nose, mouth and / or eyes with infected hands. The portal of entry of the swine flu virus is the respiratory tract.

Complications Top

Pneumonia
Bronchitis
Sinus infections
Ear infections
Death

Prevention Top

Good ventilation of public buildings.
The avoidance of crowded places during epidemics.
Encouraging sufferers to cover their faces with a handkerchief or mask when coughing and sneezing.
And to stay home at the first sign of Influenza (Cough, cold, sneezing, weakness and so on).
Wash hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

Dear, you must be able to understand concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions. Please understand the above. Change your study style and attitude accordingly. Please post a private question to me and I will help you with" effective learning" techniques. Take care.

Sir, I have itching sensation in my both the legs. I consulted a skin doctor who gave an ointment. It was not effecti...
Itching sensation between legs could be jock itch. Jock itch is a very common groin rash. Roughly half of jock itch is due to fungus. The remainder is caused by moisture, irritation, and bacterial overgrowth. In most cases, jock itch can be treated at home effectively. You can try the following remedies to get rid of the infection: 1.Apply over-the-counter antifungal cream, powder, or spray to the affected area - our best options include Lamisil, Lotrimin Ultra, and/or Naftin. These are more expensive, but they will get rid of jock itch faster. Prefer Lotrimin Ultra which contains Butenafine Hydrochloride over regular Lotrimin AF which just contains clotrimazole. Studies have shown Butenafine can be faster and more effective than clotrimazole. You can also purchase cheaper creams containing clotrimazole or miconazole. These will take a little longer to work, but they will effectively wipe out jock itch. 2.Wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and warm water. 3.Dry the affected area thoroughly after bathing and exercise. 4.Change clothes and undergarments every day. 5.Wear loose cotton clothing. Avoid wearing any clothing that rubs or irritates your crotch. 6.Treat any other fungal infections, such as athlete’s foot. Doing this will decrease the risk for recurrence.

I am suffering from psoriasis since 1975 kindly advise me what care should be taken to keep it under control. I know that it is difficult to get complete cure

I am suffering from psoriasis since 1975 kindly advise me what care should be taken to keep it under control. I know ...
psoriasis is manageable, the traditional approach is to start with the mildest treatments topical creams and ultraviolet light therapy (phototherapy) and then progress to stronger ones only if necessary. The goal is to find the most effective way to slow cell turnover with the fewest possible side effects coupled with a dietary therapy specially designed to manage psoriasis. Researchers found several studies linking obesity to an increased risk for psoriatic disease. These studies indicate that a higher body mass index (bmi) is associated with an elevated risk for developing psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as increased disease severity. Obesity may provide the nudge that triggers psoriasis in people who are already predisposed to it, researchers also found that in overweight individuals, losing weight may improve the effectiveness of treatments. So if you lose weight, you may be reducing fuel for the fire. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

Amla can be taken in diabetic kya? And what we should eat in diabetic. please help.

Amla can be taken in diabetic kya? And what we should eat in diabetic. please help.
Yes amla can be taken in diabetes- it's a good vit c source but not the one preserved in sugar/jaggery (amla ka murraba). Major dietary advice for diabetes is to avoid high fat content - so don't take any fried stuff. Take foods with low or moderate glycemic index. Glycemic index of any food item is the speed at which your sugar rises in blood after consuming it.
