Sir, My mother Aged 58, Sugar patient, Maintained sugar levels in between 120 and 160, having a severe pain in her Second Molar teeth in upper teeth. There is a small hole near the root of the teeth. The pain is aggravating when any food particles enters in to the hole. When tested, it is observed that the root is strong and the tooth is not oscillated. Glove is used for temporary relief. Kindly advise me whether to remove the tooth or not? Thanks,

Please get the RCT done if possible or else you will have to get the tooth removed. Keeping glove or some other measures are very unhygienic. Your mother is known diabetic therefore you have to be over cautious as she is prone to infections. Without further delay get the tooth treatment from your dentist.

I have a teeth which is having germs and it needs root canal treatment, what should I do?

Hello whatever your age be. Saving a tooth is always recommended as extraction can be done anytime in life but chance for saving that tooth would come only once. I haven't seen the xray but if a dentist has advised root canal better do it.

For healthier teeth, flossing daily in a sawing motion is highly recommended. Take the floss to the point where the teeth meet the gums.

I am getting wisdom tooth which is erupted but 1/4th part of tooth is covered with gum tissue and it's painting alot. One Doctor suggested for removal of tissue while the other suggested to extract the tooth. I am suffering from its pain in the jaw neck ear n headache. I couldn't eat or drink easily. Pls advice me what to do to get relief. With pain killer I am getting only temporary relief. please do advise me.

Wisdom teeth can erupt anywhere between the age of 17 years and the mid-20s. It is usually accompanied by pain, sensitivity, and discomfort in chewing food. The pain also may radiate to head, neck and ear. For transient relief, you can go for pain killers and any antibacterial mouthwash, to keep the area clean, which may be difficult to clean otherwise with a toothbrush. Permanent treatment usually involves either removal of the gum tissue covering the wisdom tooth (if it is present in your case), or extraction of the tooth. Extraction will not cause you any problem with eating food, and it doesn’t need to be replaced, unlike other teeth.

Her permanent are in state of eruption, before milk should. This is what going on in her case. This is normal, nothing to worry. Get her check up if permanent tooth takes too long to erupt after the milk tooth goes.

Hi, there are various reasons for bleeding gums like poor oral hygiene, vitamin deficiency, physical injury to gums, hormonal changes, medications etc. You have to visit dentist for professional cleaning and check-up to know the exact cause and solution of your problem.

Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

There might be wisdom teeth causing this. consult with your dentist for OPG X ray and thorough check up. Start rinsing with warm salt water twice a day and brushing regularly

I have ulcer problem in mouth. I cannot eat my food because of this problem help to relief from this problem?
Thank you for writing to us. Please note that it could be due to eating unhealthy foods/not taking green vegetables in your diet regularly/chewing tobacco-pan masala/lack of vitamin b/irregular bowel movements, etc. Please note the problem and get treated. For the time being you can take vitamin b-complex once daily for 7 days. If this does not relieves you get back to me. Thanks.

Getting a good night sleep before the root canal treatment is the best way to go as it would reduce anxiety and maintain the overall well being.
