After using them (one week) I got relief. In addition he suggested to me that I need yo use for few years. Some doctors suggested me to consult rheumatologist. I have mixed feelings for using tablets for few years. Please, suggest some guideline to recover from my problem.

Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hello Sir, I am a 28 years old female suffering from acute neck and back pain from last 4 years. I have gone through several MRI’s and - which shows cervical disc bulges and degeneration in lumbar and thoracic spine. All my blood tests for HLA B-27, RA factor, Anti CCP, CRP, ENA profile comes out to be negative. Also, physiotherapy does not help at all. Last year, I started feeling pain in lower back which showed annular tear at L5-S1. I was put on pain killers and tryptomer, nortriptyline several times in these 4-5 years. They gave me just temporary relief. My whole back pains a lot and I too feel severe morning stiffness and last year I had a viral fever after that I started getting pain and numbness in hands and feet. Before that I was not having any problem and stiffness in my hands and feet. I checked with a number of doctors who are unable to diagnose the exact reason of my problem. Also, by god grace for the past 3-4 months after a period of break from office and some ayurvedic medicines I was completely relieved from pain and stiffness. I was leading an active life from February 2017-April 2017 without any painkillers and any other allopathic medicines. But suddenly from past 10 days I started feeling acute pain in whole body, back and lower back, hips. 3 months without any medicine and pain and again I am suffering with so much pain and stiffness that I am not able to do daily activities. All the doctors I visited including a known rheumatologist in Delhi saw my reports, MRI etc few months back ruled out any big disease like RA, AS etc. But now pain has come after 3-4 months and this time my lower back, and hips are hurting too much. Please seek your advice as my marriage is getting fixed soon. Last year also, my marriage got cancelled due to the pain and uncertainty that what it could be and again this is happening. Please help.

Hi, Good that the arthritis is ruled out through lab investigation reports. The pain appears could be due to soft tissue damages like muscle stress, myalgia. Further the muscle spasm at the level of spine may cause pressure to tissues in between lead to IVDP kind of situation. Confirm you are not over weight and do regular soft exercises like walking 3 kilometers in 30 minutes at a stretch. Myalgia may caused due to mental stress, dehydration, cold exposure, wrong postures and few deficiencies of Vitamine D or B12. The cramps may aggravate during menstrual periods. Ayurveda treatments like oil application, navarakizhi etc are very helpful.

Soak in a Tub. A warm bath cures many ills, and always helps ease stiff muscles. You'll also sleep better after a bath, helping you awake refreshed. If you're brave, try a hot/cold treatment, alternating water temperatures every couple minutes, to open blood vessels more.

Hello sir I am 38 years old I have a pain in my left knee on pressing so please give me prescription.
As arthritis is very common that you get generally bilaterally. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. If your knee is paining since 2 weeks, then you have to rethink whether you had any injury in the previous years. I also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. As arthritis is very common if anyone would've neglected any injury in the previous years. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation.

Ankle Instability - Can Compression Ice Pack Help With It?

Ankle Instability - Can Compression Ice Pack Help With It?

The ankle, despite being one of the smaller joints, plays a crucial role as it bears the brunt of a person’s weight. Due to improper gait or injuries, the ankle often gets sprained. This can be a recurring problem in older people. Therefore, over a period of time, the ankle gets unstable and can cause chronic symptoms including pain, imbalance resulting in recurrent falls. Read on to know more about some causes, symptoms, and management techniques for ankle instability.

Causes: The ankle has ligaments which stretch to allow for ankle movement. When this ligament stretches beyond the limit, then it can tear or stretch. Therefore, sportspersons like basketball and football players, gymnasts who tend to use their ankle a lot are at a much higher risk of developing ankle instability over a period of time.

Symptoms: The most common symptom of ankle instability is when a person is unable to stand firm. This pain is worse in people wearing heels or walking on uneven ground. Patients may experience swelling, stiffness, and excruciating pain.

Management: Ankle instability is an acute problem but the recovery time is limited too, so the symptoms disappear over a period of time. However, in some people, especially sportspersons, it may lead to a chronic condition which needs immediate attention. Few remedies for getting relief from ankle pain are mentioned below:

  1. Ice: For pain relief, icing the ankle is an excellent option. Applying a cold pack for about 10 to 15 minutes about 2 to 4 times per day is an effective way to relieve the pain, stiffness, and swelling.
  2. Rest: Ligament injuries often heal on their own, and sportspersons may be advised to stay off of the game for about a week or two, to give it time for self-repair.
  3. Compresses: Using an elastic wrap or compression ice wrap for a few hours can help in relieving ankle instability.
  4. Pain killers: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen can help in reducing both the inflammation and pain from the ankle injury.
  5. Exercise: Increasing the strength and flexibility of the ankle via exercise is a great way to reduce chances of further sprain. Rotating the ankles, standing on one leg, etc., are some effective ways to do this.
  6. Surgery: If none of the above-mentioned remedies work, a surgery may be required which is only in severe and/or chronic cases.

Ankle instability is quite common but is equally easy to manage. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
