Do you keep your mouth covered while playing sports? If no, please start using a full-face helmet or a mouthguard so that any unnecessary injury can be prevented.

it looks like infection due to decay on tooth. .. if decay is deep then you have to go for root canal treatment. . visit to a dentist for examination and proper treatment. .

I think you should show it to your dentist. If he feels correct, he can do some necessary feelings to cover those sensitive areas. Sensodyne is not the solution to all kind of sensitivity. Avoid self medication and consult a dentist.

Can I do facial yoga exercises like blowing balloons while undergoing orthodontic treatment that is while wearing braces? I clench a little as well.

You can do yoga to relieve stress. Clenching is damaging not only teeth but also TMJ (jaw joint) in long term. You can divert it by slow down it by always having something in your mouth like sugar free chewing gums. Whenever you clench try to chew on so that clenching urge can be diverted. Drink plenty of water to relax your body and mind. If this is not helping there are other things you can do at home. You can consult me personally if needed. THANK YOU.

I'm having pulpitides on my two wisdom teeth. Now I'm taking antibiotics for three days. And I'm going to get my teeth removed 3 days later. The problem is that my heart rates keep accelerated, and I have some headaches too. Looks like my infections are not 100% under control. Q1, Can I still go for teeth extraction 3 days later? Or can I still wait for 3 days? Q2, What should I do to minimize any complication during and after the surgery? Thanks a billion.

Hello, it is a systemic problem. You need to consult a physician, and get your blood pressure and cardiac levels checked. Under the physician's recommendation, you can get your tooth removed or not.

Between my rt. Canine tooth and the next tooth there occurred a gap up-to the deep inside my gum and all time I feel an irritating sensation, some time I notice a trace of blood also in my spit.I am consulted that this gap can not be filled and my Dentist prescribing me a medicine of trypsin + chymotripsin repeatedly! Is there any permanent solution?

BDS
Dentist,
It would be to get an x ray done and check for pockets In between the teeth. According to what you have mentioned You might require deep scaling or maybe even a minor gum surgery. Trypsin chymotrypsin may not be the best option.

Dear Lybrate user, if you're facing indigestion issues or nasal drip, you should consult a gastroenterologist and pulmonologist (respiratory specialist) in your area. You might need to modify your diet a little. The doctor might prescribe you medicines to get rid of this problem. Try to take your meals well in time and don't lie down for at least 1 hour after eating. You can try some homeopathic or ayurvedic treatments as well. First get the check up done, get to the root cause of your problem and pursue the treatment accordingly.

Hello lybrate-user, this is gum infection which develops due to deposition of plaque and calculus around teeth. This infection leads to gum swelling and bleeding. I advise you to visit a dentist soon for professional cleaning of her teeth. This will help in removal of these layers. Further swelling will decrease slowly and infection will subside soon. Meanwhile, she can use antibiotic mouth rinses twice a day for two weeks. But only professional help or treatment is not enough. She needs to follow proper oral hygiene habits because this problem is recurring in nature. Brushing twice a day, flossing teeth, rinsing mouth after every meal, and cleaning tongue will help preventing it's re-occurence.

Dental Emergency

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Accidents happen, and knowing what to do when one occurs can mean the difference between saving and losing a tooth.
Here are some tips for common dental emergencies:

• For a knocked-out permanent or adult tooth, keep it moist at all times. If you can, try placing the tooth back in the socket without touching the root. If that’s not possible, place it in between your cheek and gums, in milk, or water. Then, get to your dentist’s clinic right away.

• For a cracked tooth, immediately rinse the mouth with warm water to clean the area. Put cold compresses on the face to keep any swelling down
.
• If you bite your tongue or lip, clean the area gently with water and apply a cold compress.

• For toothaches, rinse the mouth with warm water to clean it out. Gently use dental floss to remove any food caught between the teeth.

• For objects stuck in the mouth, try to gently remove with floss but do not try to remove it with sharp or pointed instruments.

When you have a dental emergency, it’s important to visit your dentist or an hospital as soon as possible.

Here are some simple precautions you can take to avoid accident and injury to the teeth:
• Wear a mouthguard when participating in sports or recreational activities.

• Avoid chewing ice, popcorn kernels, beetle nut ( supari ) and hard candy, all of which can crack a tooth.

• Use scissors, NEVER your teeth, to cut things.

Most dentists reserve time in their daily schedules for emergency patients. Call your dentist and provide as much detail as possible about your condition.

How to increase calcium level in our body. Which is the best tooth paste for our teeth.

How to increase calcium level in our body. Which is the best tooth paste for our teeth.
Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.
