Hello. I am having a problem of vomiting. I used to vomits everyday in the morning while brushing my teeth. I don't know why. Please help me as soon as possible. Thank you.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The vomit sensation you are talking about is known as Gag Reflex. It is a protective mechanism of the human body to avoid the entrance of any unwanted material down the throat. In your case, you are experiencing the reflex while brushing, that means your brushing pattern might be wrong. You are taking your brush to much deeper areas than required. Also, you might not be cleaning your tongue properly. Visit your dentist and ask him about some correct brushing patterns and start using a tongue cleaner. Whenever you experience gag try to focus on some other activity or object, such as your big toe. It diverts you and thus the gag stops. Avoid mouth breathing, that increases the gag. If the problem persists even after changing your brushing/cleaning pattern and avoiding mouth breathing there is more to it. Pay a visit to both your dentist and gasteroenterologist.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures are done with lasers too. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Get an x-ray done to know about the position of wisdom tooth. It can be there is less space for eruption of wisdom tooth. If it is troubling then its bettere to get it extracted.

I have sensitivity in my teeth. It pain also. What should I do. I am using colgate sensitive pro relief pest for a month. But not cured.

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist, Jamshedpur
Try thermoseal ra toothpaste for one month. Rub gently on sensitive area wait for 5 minutes and then rinse. If you cant get relief then you need to go for laminating or veneering. Sometimes enamel layer of teeth get eroded because of bruxism, hard brushing, age, and after an orthodontic treatment. Avoid too much cold food like icecream till the symptoms subsides.

There are various causes for mouth ulcers: *diet *deficiency *irritating fillings *stress/ allegries *late night *wisdom tooth *broken teeth etc. You need to find out the exact cause. It could be one of the above. You need to see your nearest dentist at your earliest. Till then you can apply this gel called rexidin m forte on the affected area twice a day.

Flossing is as important as brushing on a daily basis. Taking the floss all the way down to the point where the teeth and gums meet is the appropriate way of doing it.

Patient immensely satisfied.

I have some vocal problem. Actually when I speak saliva secretes in my mouth an it disturbs my pronunciation. Please provide a genuine soln for this Hope you will reply soon.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Although excessive saliva is not too common, there are a number of conditions that can cause it - some harmless, others more serious. It is possible that your saliva problems are just a result of the way you speak. Some people speak faster or slower than others, just as some people blink more often, breathe faster, or have a more rapid heartbeat. This may just be what's normal for you. Since it is negatively affecting your life, I suggest your problem can be ignored. However there are medical conditions that causes excessive salivation Injection Glycopyrrolate reduces secretions in the mouth, throat, airway, and stomach.

Hello Good Evening Doctors My Mother has been facing the problem of Blister in her mouth for last 5 years. please tell me the solution. Thanks.

BDS, Non-Resident J.R. in Dept. of Orthodontics, Certified oral implantologist, Advanced Aesthetics, Digital Smile Designer
Dentist, Jammu
Does the ulcer/blister is in the mouth for the last 5 years or it comes and goes. If the blister is there for the past 5 years, you should get a biopsy done of the lesion and get a histopathology report from the laboratory. Also if the ulcer comes and goes, it might be due to nutritional deficiency or dehydration or sharp edges inside the mouth. Please get it evaluated with a dentist.
