Acne/pimples and acne scars on face and pigmentation on face, and puffiness around eyes.
Dip a clean cotton swab in fresh lemon juice and apply it to the pimples before going to bed. You can also mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and put it on the pimples overnight. In the morning, wash the skin well with lukewarm water. Peel an avocado, mash it up and apply the juice on pigmented skin. Massage cocoa butter on affected skin twice a day for about two to three weeks. Mix a few drops of lime juice with honey and leave it on for 10 minutes. Applying the juice of raw potatoes is another simple remedy to treat pigmentation. Apply the mixture evenly on the affected area, leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this regularly, once a week. You can also massage vitamin E oil into the affected skin for 10 minutes twice daily to reduce hyperpigmentation.

Do you have pain on cheek bones on pressing it? hot fomentation is really helpful in sinus besides drink fluids, such as water or juice. This will help dilute mucous secretions and promote drainage. Avoid beverages that contain caffeine or alcohol, as they can be dehydrating. Drinking alcohol can also worsen the swelling of the lining of the sinuses and nose. Moisturize your sinus cavities. Drape a towel over your head as you breathe in the vapor from a bowl of medium-hot water. Keep the vapor directed toward your face. Or take a hot shower, breathing in the warm, moist air. This will help ease pain and help mucus drain. Apply warm compresses to your face. Place warm, damp towels around your nose, cheeks and eyes to ease facial pain. Rinse out your nasal passages. Use a specially designed squeeze bottle (sinus rinse, others), saline canister or neti pot to rinse your nasal passages. This home remedy, called nasal lavage, can help clear your sinuses. If you make your own rinse, use water that's contaminant-free distilled, sterile, previously boiled and cooled, or filtered using a filter with an absolute pore size of 1 micron or smaller to make up the irrigation solution. Also be sure to rinse the irrigation device after each use with contaminant-free water, and leave open to air-dry. Sleep with your head elevated. This will help your sinuses drain, reducing congestion. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

Baking Soda for Chicken Pox Scars Baking soda, due to its alkaline nature, maintains the pH level of your skin. As it soothes itchiness and irritation, it is a great remedy to prevent yourself from scratching the scabs so that you do not get scars at the first place. Even when you get the scars, baking soda comes to your help as a natural exfoliating agent. YOu have to do the following .Take: Baking soda- 2 tbsp Water Take the steps Add a drizzle of water to the baking soda. Apply this paste like scrub to the scar affected areas. Gently rub it there for 1-2 minutes. Wash off with water. Coconut Water for Chicken Pox Scars Coconut water is a treasure house of nutrients which includes vitamins, minerals and a host of trace elements. It is a rich source of magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium and phosphorus along with many other trace elements. But what is more important when it comes to skin and its problems such as scars, wrinkles, dehydration etc. Are the lauric acid and cytokines present in coconut water. Cytokines help regulate cell growth and pH balance along with maintaining the connective tissues. Coconut water is also an anti-viral, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal agent that helps heal and soothe skin. When you use coconut water daily, you may be able to lighten the pockmarks and pits that you get from chicken pox and even those from small pox and acne. Ways to Use Coconut Water for Chicken Pox Scars Apply coconut water directly on your scars. Start doing this just after the chicken pox infection has run its course. You may use a cotton ball to apply coconut water to your marks or just pour it over your skin where the scars appear. Repeat this several times a day. Add 2 glasses of coconut water to your bath water. Drink a glass of coconut water every day. However, if you suffer from low blood pressure,

I have a hair fall for 3 to 4 months on frontal side of the Head. So, can I use Minoxidil or Tablets?

I have a hair fall for 3 to 4 months on frontal side of the Head.
So, can I use Minoxidil or Tablets?
Hi Lybrate user, you can use minoxidil but it takes 1- 2 months to start action also it has few adverse effects. So it is always better to take safe herbal ayurvedic medicines. For better & healthy hairs follow some ayurveda tips - -Ayurvedic Oils to Give your Scalp a Hot Oil Massage. -Hair becomes more prone to breakage when it is wet. So, you must avoid combing your just after a bath. - take atleast 7 hours sound sleep in night, avoid day sleep. It is during sleep that most of the tissues are regenerated and rejuvenated. - avoid using hot water to wash hairs. - Anuloma viloma pranayam is also useful for healthy hairs. - take natural calcium suplements, avoid hot air hair blower to dry your hairs. Consult Doctor for proper evaluation & medicines.

Diabetic Patients - How They Are More At Risk Of Heart Problems?

Diabetic Patients - How They Are More At Risk Of Heart Problems?

Diabetes mellitus is a condition affecting the way one’s body utilizes blood sugar (glucose). Glucose is essential to your health since it is a vital energy source for the cells that make up the tissues and muscles. Diabetes is characterized by excess blood sugar levels. The complications might get aggravated and turn fatal if it is left untreated over a period of time.

Diabetes mellitus can be of two types - Type 1 and Type 2.

In Type 1 diabetes, the pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin to metabolize sugar and starch from the foods that you consume while Type 2 diabetes affects the way the body processes the blood glucose.

Diabetes substantially increases the risks of numerous cardiovascular disorders (a condition that affects the heart’s blood vessels due to fatty deposits within the arteries) such as atherosclerosis (narrowing of arteries), stroke, heart attack (wherein flow of blood to the heart muscle gets blocked all of a sudden), heart failure (inability of the heart to pump blood throughout the body) and angina (chest pain).

Why are diabetic people at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases?

The following factors are associated (could be the common reason as well) with both diabetes and cardiovascular diseases-

  1. High blood pressure and hypertension.

  2. High triglyceride level (a kind of fat present in the blood) and abnormal cholesterol level.

  3. Obesity.

  4. Lack of exercises and physical activities.

  5. Uncontrolled blood sugar level.

  6. Smoking.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
