Hi, Going by your description it seems you mean that entire teeth are not seen in mouth and only half of the teeth are seen. It may be a condition where your teeth hv fully erupted but are partly covered by excessive gums giving the impression that your teeth are not completely erupted. You may require crown lengthening procedure. It is a cosmetic procedure with excellent result potential. Pardon me if I hv misunderstood your question. If any other doubts feel free to consult using your free consultation. Send pics of your teeth if possible.

FOR YELLOWNESS OF TEETH: Advise deep cleaning, polishing, whitening (bleaching) procedures, artificial enamel filling or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. FOR BLEEDING GUMS: We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks.

The type of treatment you have for toothache /sensitivity/swelling will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

I have a problem with my inside teeth whenever I eat sweet my teeth get pain. What should I do?

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Secunderabad
Tooth pain could be due to various reasons, the most common being dental caries that forms a cavity within the tooth exposing the underlying nerve. Treating the tooth is the best option for which you need to consult a dentist and emergency treatment includes to run a course of antibiotics and pain killers. But not all pain killers work on tooth pain so please avoid self medication. You can consult me

Hello, you need to visit a dentist and get it checked. Get an x-ray done. If there is infection to the root of the tooth, you need to get it treated. Then get a crown placed over it. If there is no infection then you can also go for veneers. The cost can rage from Rs. 2000-10,000/- depending on the case, the dentist and location of the clinic.

Natural teeth cannot substitute artificial teeth whether its removable or implant. Kindly do not remove your natural teeth just because they are big. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (model study, full mouth & profile x-ray) to decide upon treatment. You may need fixed / removable braces. Requirements may depends on the age, complaint, duration of the treatment & affordability. Cost of cosmetic dentistry (braces) varies with dentist. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I have oral submucos fibrosis in my mouth.
Is it curable? How to cure it?
I completely stopped eating arena nuts.
OSMF is curable. Depending upon severity of OSMF (HOW MUCH MOUTH OPENING IS PRESENT) treatments varies. Since you have already quit the habit, whatever treatment is required in your case will be very very effective. The most basic treatment is to take antioxidants like lycopene, jaw exercises like keeping wooden spoon bundle in mouth at maximum jaw opening for two times daily for 10 to 15 minutes, increasing one spoon daily until required jaw opening achieved. The most advanced treatment is undergoing LASER surgery for cheek fibers which has excellent outcome in ultra short duration compared to conservative approach. For more details you can personally contact me. THANK YOU.

Eating a piece of cheese after a meal helps in pulling away some of the plaque and leftover tiny food particles from meals. And since it contains calcium, it adds to the health of teeth and bones as well.

Saving a fallen tooth can prove to be useful. Wrapping it up in a piece of plastic or soaking it into milk or trying to keep it in place immediately after it has fallen can prevent any further harm. Consult a dentist immediately after undertaking one of the above measures.

Importance of milk teeth
Importance of milk teeth
Most of people are very ignorent about the primary or milk teeth of their children. They think that there is no need to take care of them because they will be replaced by permanent teeth. But milk teeth are very very important. Because during the growth years of a child if milk teeth are not healthy and if there are cavities and pain, it will inversely affect the growth of child due to lack of proper nutrition intake.

On other hand milk teeth act as a guidance to eruption of permanent teeth. Pre shedding or over retained primary tooth can lead to abnormal eruption of permanent successor. So alway pay attention for proper brushing habbits of your children and if milk teeth are carious and painful then get it filled or get a pulpectomy or pulpotomy procedure by your dentist to make your child smile bright always!
