If there is no bony injury documented by doing an x ray of the affected part, then my advice will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - compression bandage can be given by using crepe bandage at home if you can tell me what is the exact site of pain and swelling, like maybe send me a clinical picture pointing towards it, then I can advise you better because management of ankle sprains is different. I am 63 years old male diabetic. I am on insulin both morning and night. Human mixtard 30/70 18-0-15units, insultard 5-0-5 units. Taking following tablets glynace mf 1-0-1tab atrovastin 10mg 0-0-1 tab tested blood sugar hba1c -8 in march 2015. Now a days I am having severe pain in my groin when I put pressure on my left leg. Also my left hip, left knee are paining. What do you advice?

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Neck advice neck exercises. Neck stretching. Postural correction. Shoulder shrugs. Take frequent breaks at work. Core strenthening exercises. Use cervical pillow. Use back support. Self massage the back of neck gentle shoulder stretching. Core strengthening exercises. Gentle neck exercises. Avoid sleeping on affected side.

Since you have to travel on bike for long distance, there must be too many jerks on the road, which affects the spine and in long run can have harmful effects, so better would be to wear a lumbosacral belt if the pain is acute to avoid jerks, but in the long run you need to exercise your core muscles so that any trivial trauma will not cause pain. Do some exercises for the back pain daily like bhujangasan, pelvic lifting, static back exercises, core exercises.

Joint pains with morning stiffness is a common condition. Acute phase can be managed with medicines. Physiotherapy helps in preventing contractures & deformities. Keep your moral up! any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days also. You will need other supportive medicines do knee exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. You could be suffering from cervical spondylosis or disc prolapse. How old are you? Lie straight and Avoid pillows. Use hot water bag over the area. Apply diclofenac gel. If pain sites not improve you need to get x Ray of the neck. Consult your orthopedic dr.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

You need to do morning walk daily for at least 30 minutes. I also suggest you do not sit too long at a stretch - keep changing your position. At lest after 2 hours rise from your seat for 2 minutes and then again sit and so on. Take mag phos 200 - thrice daily 4 pills for next 2 weeks. Give me a feedback.
