Girl aged 17 irregular periods thyroid check was normal, five months ago my pill was prescribed after that there was a relief but now the same problem is again please advice.

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda, Gulbarga
A number of factors can cause this problem, such as eating disorders, significant weight loss or gain, anemia, menopause, thyroid disorders, hormonal imbalance, liver disease, tuberculosis, irritable bowel syndrome, diabetes, recent birth or miscarriage, polycystic ovarian syndrome, uterine abnormalities, and other health conditions. Lifestyle triggers like increased exercise, smoking, alcohol abuse, caffeine, travel, stress, and certain medications and birth control pills can also contribute to this problem ginger is highly beneficial in regulating menstrual cycles and also relieving menstrual pain. It promotes menstruation and hence is good when dealing with delayed or scanty periods. 1. Boil one-half teaspoon of freshly ground ginger in a cup of water for five to seven minutes. 2. Add a little sugar. 3. Drink this three times a day after meals. 4. Do this for about one month or more. 2. Cinnamon cinnamon is considered useful for regulating menstrual cycles and reducing menstrual cramps. According to traditional chinese medicine, it is believed to have a warming effect on the body. Also, it contains hydroxychalcone that helps regulate insulin levels and is suspected to have an effect on menstrual regularity. A study analyzing the effects of cinnamon extract on menstrual cycles in women with polycystic ovary syndrome is currently underway? simply add one-half teaspoon of cinnamon powder to a glass of milk. Drink this daily for several weeks? you can also drink cinnamon tea, sprinkle cinnamon on your foods, or chew cinnamon sticks regularly. Any queries consult me privately.

I am 35, I am trying for my first baby. I have 17 days late period but still negative test what is the region behind this?

Diploma in homeopathy, B. Sc
Homeopath, Gurgaon
For starters, 35 is leaving it a bit late for your first baby - it not only becomes more difficult, but can cause complications. However, you can bolster your system with selected vitamins, minerals and essential elements.

I am not on any medication for thyroid. This tym I missed my date by 5 days, I do not know I conceived or not but I do not find any symptom of vomiting or heaviness. We ar planning for baby, what you feel I sud to do further? Shall I wait for any preg test as there may be chance of delay in Periods due to hormonal changes. Please revert.

Irrespective of whether your pregnancy test tests comes out positive or negative, I would optimize your Thyroids and other relevant hormones and continue treatment right through pregnancy. I would also like to rule out Autoimmune Thyroiditis. These are important to improve your chances of conceiving and preserving pregnancy.

Why Neutrogest 200 use pregnancy? Is it safe to intake oral instead of vaginal. I am having 7 weeks pregnancy with twins. And I am pregnant first time. So in this case this tables is safe to intake.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
These tablets are natural micronised progestrone tablets which are meant for maintainence of pregnancy. You have twin pregnancy and therefore you have been advised to take them so that your uterus remains relaxed and the babies grow well inside. The vaginal route is the preferred mode for micronised progestrone. So, keep these tablets vaginally. All the best and take care.

I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend on 12/5, 3 hours after which she took i-pill. Infact, she also took another i-pill the next day. She had her last period on 1/5 and till now, she hasn't got her periods till now. Is she pregnant or are her periods delayed but to i-pill overdose?

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Ludhiana
Hi overdose of I pill will definitely cause hormonal disturbances but you must rule out pregnancy first. If test is negative, wait for another 15 days for periods to come spontaneously and if it doesn't happen, report back. Take care in future, I pill is only for emergency, not to be taken casually.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS

She is 13, though girls are starting at 10 even but right age range is from 10-14. Wait for a year, if she does not get periods, get her checked for other associated signs for a 13 years old girl.

In 5 months of pregnancy if pain is there in lower part of abdomen and Your abdomen is tense ,and you are feeling pressure in lower abdomen means premature Labour pain has started .for this you have to start cap duadilan retard once a day till date so as to prevent premature Labour. And rest in bed, avoid constipation and if possible meet your Dr. personally.

Homeopath, Gulbarga
Dear patient, irregular menses, pcod are because of hormonal imbalance. You can now safely use homeopathic medicines to get rid of pcod or irregular menses. You need" mensoreg" syrup with" mensoreg" medicine to get rid of pcod or irregular menses. This can also be successfully used to painful menses.

I am 33 years. I have irregular periods problem. I have done all test like thyroid and harmonal test. All reports are normal. Gyne said it is pre menopause syndrome. There is no remedy on this problem. Is it true?

FRAS, MD - Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Ernakulam
If your periods r irregular, it doesn't mean you're nearing menopause since you're aged 33 only, take ayurvedic medications like asokaristam, sukumara kwatha, chandraprabha tablet, rajapravartini vati, ovarin syrup, consult me private for dosages

Im 28 years old. I'm getting severe pain during periods why this has been happening please advise me any pain relief remedies.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
Hi lybrate-user. The pain you have during periods is called dysmenorrhoea and it can be due to many causes. It could be due to endometriosis, hormonal disturbance, etc. Get an ultrasound scan of pelvis done to see for any pelvic pathology that be causing the pain. Meanwhile try tablets meftal spas during periods for the pain.

She had sex 6 days back on the same day of her periods she thinking tat she could be pregnant she was unmarried at present she does not want to be pregnant she was studying she just wants to continue her education she want to take medical abortion.

General Physician, Cuttack
Chance of pregnancy is very less since she had sex just before period. However do a pregnancy test 10 days after the missed period next month and consult doctor with report for advice and treatment.

Hi sir/mdam already I said that I have a hypo thyroid, I have one doubt in that I got a married last year, I am trying to conceive still there is no result in that, and one more thing I have no irregular periods it is regular, can you give me the suggestion,

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
lybrate-user, Hypothyroidism if not well controlled does not allow conception to occur. Primary need is to achieve a very strict control with TSH remaining below 2 mU/L for conception to take place. Even through the pregnancy also TSH levels have to be maintained around 2 mU/L. Hence, please check and come back. Thanks.

I am suffering from period in a month only one day it us to be before it us to be for 3-4 daya what are the solution?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
If this has happened for the first time, then there is no need to worry and no need for any medicines also. Sometimes because of hormonal changes or stress or weight gain such things happen. If this is recurring again and again then you should get ultrasound with hormonal tests and then 3 months course of medicines will help you get back to normal menstrual flow.
