Hello, My room temperature is 35 degree. How long can I keep breast milk on this room temperature?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician, Alappuzha
Refrigerated breast milk can sit out at room temperature for up to 4 hours. Frozen breast milk that has been thawed in the refrigerator, but NOT yet warmed up can stay at room temperature for up to 4 hours. Frozen breast milk taken directly from the freezer should NOT be stored or defrosted at room temperature.Fresh milk. Freshly expressed milk can be stored at room temperature for 6–8 hours. If the room is particularly warm, it's more like 4 hours. There's lots of information available about how long pumped breast milk can be kept for, generally citing different temperature ranges. It's cited that milk thawed from the freezer should be used within 24 hours in the fridge, or 1 hour at room temperature.

A baby of 2.5 months should sleep how many hours? My baby is sleeping 18+ hours, is it normal or should I consult a doctor?

For the first month, you can usually expect your baby to sleep for most of the day. Your baby could sleep for as long as up to 18 hours in a span of 24 hours in a day. Even if your baby does sleep for up to 18 hours, the sleep will not be for an entire stretch of 18 hours. Your newborn baby will sleep in spurts of sleep that will not be for more than three to four hours. It means that your newborn will continue the same way through the day as well as through the night.

My 34 month old baby, was potty trained and was diaper free since she was 27 months. Lately, she refuses to do potty in pot and holds it for 2-3-4 days and ultimately she does it in her pants. I thought it's cause of constipation hard potty and it might be hurting her. I started with prunes, apples, cantaloupe and other fruits. She took whole grain food, daal, curd, veggies and has water regularly. Goes to pee in the pot and says she wants to pee. But potty, until I catch her trying to do potty, like her facial expressions changes, she does not do it in pot. Her stool is not hard nor soft but it's of normal shape and consistency. Please suggest me how I can resolve this problem. Thank you!

Your child probably has developed some fear of potty seat. It could be bcos of constipation and she is more comfortable in passing stool in standing position. Include lots of fibre in her diet sp fruits, vegs, oats etc. Give her lots of water and other fluids like coconut water, lassi lemon water, milk. Encourage her to try passing stool at the same time each morning. For a few days, you sit on a stool in the washroom in front of her when she is passing stool, holding her hand, talking to her, encouraging her, telling her that it's not going to hurt. She shd be ok within a few days. All the best.

My daughter is 6 years. She is becoming arrogant and restless. If some horror picture she observed confirm she will vomit in night during sleep. We (myself, my wife and my only daughter) a flat in kolkata. Our parents live in native. She like swimming but couldn't try to swim without boat.

Don't panic please she is just 6yrs. Few points? she requires love, affection & understanding from her parents? parents should not be scolding the child, due to which child can become fearful? accept the child & then empower? no activities which can make child restless like parents fighting with each other, parents themselves worrying a lot, tv shows and movies of such type? telling & teaching something while child is on bed at bedtime which can make the child calm & peaceful & confident? children do what they observe compared to what we teach. Very long discussion.

Don't worry as it happens and is common in infants. Just make sure that you give water after you feed her anything. Normally this thing happens coz food particles get stuck in the mouth.
