I'm 25 year old female and I have a lot of back ache for past few days. I sweep the floor daily by bending for at least 15-30 mins daily. Do you think that is the cause for the problem?

Hello Stop the activities which are aggravating pain... like bending and sweeping for few days and take rest. You can start physiotherapy sessions and learn specific exercise for your back pain. Meanwhile take hot fomentation for 20 min. at every 3 hrs. interval. Do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan Best wishes.

Hello, I am 22 years old female. Got married about 75 days ago. I am getting very often headache, back pain and I feel weak. When I was 20 years old I was diagnosed as having Kidney stones of small sizes. I took some medicines. I am feeling erased about my ill health. Will this problem of my present symptoms are due to kidney issues. If so can this problem be permanently cured. Can I conceive normally and bear children with out complications. Please advice.

Your back pain is radiating in legs do back isometrics- keep a towel roll under your lower back & press it hold for 3 sec then relax, 10 times twice daily slr- lying straight lift your leg straight up, upto 30-45 degrees, hold for 3 sec then relax, 10 times each leg twice daily same exercise will also be done on lying on stomach, this is called prone slr spinal extension- lying on your stomach & hands on your side lift your chest upwards, hold for 3 sec then relax after exercising apply hot fomentation avoid long standing take care of your posture while sitting ensure that your lower back is well supported with cusion or thin pillow.

I am 28 years old I have delivered a baby on 16 feb. My sole of the foot which does not touch the floor only that part pains a lot. As I touch that than it pains a lot. This has been started since my pregnancy. When I do lots of work my joints of hand and leg pains a lot and even back part.

You should do regular exercises Morning & evening walk Take care of your posture Take rest breaks while doing work Avoid being in one position for long duration (eg standing for long hours) Do back & knee isometrics Active movements of all joints Apply hot fermentation on painful areas/joints of body For feet do contrast bath therapy Take hot water in 1 bucket & cold water in another then immerse your feet in hot water for 3min then in cold water for 1min, keep repeating for 20min, twice daily.

I am 68 yrs old and diabetic for the last 22 yrs. Had a fracture, calcanium left, in 2003 ; ok now even though wound is 99% closed still has a little pain while walking or doing yoga. Now started with a pain on my right shoulder. Sugar level is 148/168 (on medicine) pls advice how to get rid f this shoulder pain and pain at the fractured joint. And also for diabetes thanks,

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You calcaneum pain could be due to degenerative changes in ankle or the subtalar joints, and also your shoulder pain could be due to degenerative changes setting in the joint and affected soft tissues. Latest x rays of ankle and affected shoulder can help us in understanding what grade of degeneration is there but if there is only localised pain with no other s/s of inflammation or infection, no swelling etc, the best way to go ahead is with - intensive physical therapy - short course of anti inflammatory medications which suits your body - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement we will monitor your progress in 2 weeks time how you are doing with conservative treatment and can then take your case ahead. Take piece of paper write your strenghts and weaknesses. Then you write what three things you want without which you cannot live. If you already have then write next two and if you do not have then start thinking how best you can get it.(please do not want those things which are not feasable at this momments) considering your strenght and weakness. Do your real self analysis.

When leg pain occurs after strenuous physical activity, you can simply apply cold compresses. This will help reduce the pain by numbing the affected area and control swelling and inflammation. 1. Wrap a few ice cubes (or a bag of frozen peas) in a thin towel. 2. Apply this pack on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes, while keeping the leg (s) elevated. 3. Do this a few times a day. Note: do not apply ice directly on the skin, as it may cause frostbite. Also take a glass of milk daily. Also do a x-ray of the right leg. Get back to me for further treatment.

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

I have hypothyroidism. And I am taking medication for it. In a recent test the tsh has come a little lower than the minimum. These days I feel a pain in the knees and sole after sitting for a long time or after getting up from breed after sleep. Dear , you are taking tab thyronorm, but not mentioned dose. Now pain may be due to muscle spasm because of posture. So please go for s tsh, free t4. If possible go for dexa scan for calcium in bone. So please inform me details and contact me at private question.
