My wife is very fond of having rice all the time day or night without faliour it is good for health daily eating rice...
Hye, Really thank you for this query. This is the most common misconception and query people have today. Carbs are bad, or rice has starch or its fattening, etc are nothing but fads of people trying to follow a culture that goes against our traditional wisdom of food. There are a few things that you must first know about rice. Rice contains negligible fat. It eases bowel movement and rids you of distention. Rice has starch but understand that starch is a source of energy for our body, so we need it. Rice, when eaten with proteins and healthy fats like dal/sabzi/meat/dahi, etc reduces the sugar increasing property of the meal and hence won't raise your blood sugar. It has amino acids which when consumed with dal or dahi, for example, completes the amino acid profile of the meal. Thus, for a vegetarian even rice with dal or kadhi or curd can become a complete protein food. Rice is carbohydrates so most people are told to avoid it in dinner.  No food should be viewed in isolation considering a single nutrient from it. Rice has essential nutrients. Carbohydrates are also essential for our body is much more easy on the gut, therefore great as a dinner option. Rice has in fact fat burning properties. Eat the rice that is, hand pounded or single polished rice which is pale whitish. So, no need to opt for brown rice or rotisserie just to lose weight. Let go off your fear or guilt of eating rice or for that matter any food that you have grown up eating. It is not rice but many other factors that are responsible for weight gain. So, eat rice and feel happy. Is that not what eating food should be, happiness.

The eruption of pimples, dark spots, black marks and oily face are due to excessive sebum secreted by sebaceous glands and hair follicles especially on the face.. Precautions- * Don't scratch or pinch your pimples This will cause more damage and scars. . * Avoid fried and oily foods. * Prefer fruits and green vegetables. * When you apply any cream, sun screen and the like, clean your face at the earliest, so that there will be no adverse action of the chemicals on the delicate skin of face. Is there any sidr effect of taking viagra or manforce 100 before sexual intercourse?

Is there any sidr effect of taking viagra or manforce 100 before sexual intercourse?
At your age (26yrs) you have enough desire and capacity to do sex. Why would you need any support for the sexual activity. These drugs are given for people who are sick and require medicines for sexual activity. These drugs will loose it's effect on long run and would not help you when actually you require them.

I suffer from severe migraine at times. How do I overcome from this health problem? Please do suggest some remedies that I can practice from home. Thanks.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Avoid triggers. If certain foods or odors seem to have triggered your migraines in the past, avoid them. Reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake and avoid tobacco. In general, establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals. In addition, try to control stress. Exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent migraines. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming and cycling. Warm up slowly, however, because sudden, intense exercise can cause headaches. Obesity is also thought to be a factor in migraine headaches, and regular exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight or lose weight.

My mother has recently started facing a chest pain which stretches from her chest till elbow of her left hand. Plus her sugar level was recently jumped to 500 day before yesterday. Later on the same day, it came down to 440 on taking a medicine which is jalra M 50/500 mg. Yesterday, I took her to a heart hospital which is located nearby, in emergency. The cardiologist which was on duty suggested to admit her. As her blood sugar level was 312. There was a change on ECG which was taken at that moment. I am attaching the ECG report for your reference. Please suggest what measures to be taken for my mother. I would be realy thankful for all your tips and please suggest what action to be taken?

Hi I am not able to read your ECG here but if the on duty cardiologist has advised admission then I am a assuming that ECG would be having some changes also your mother's blood sugar levels are quite high and having diabetes along with chest discomfort puts you with a very high risk of heart problems so I will advise you to get her evaluated thoroughly for cardiac issues. She would need the following tests 2d echocardiography Cardiac enzymes (trop I and CPKMB) And repeat ECG if there are any changes in the ECG or these other test then she will need angiography and you should get her admitted under a cardiologist near by as soon as possible.

Stress is one of the main reasons for people losing weight. So if you are dealing with a stressful situation at work or home, take up yoga or master breathing techniques to help you de-stress your body. Once you learn to de-stress and relax, you will find it easy to put on weight.

I have pain in my ankle & heels, it will be more when get up at morning & start walking it can't easily keep a step is their any medications for this?

BPTh/BPT
Podiatrist, Mumbai
Hi, you might be suffering from plantar fasciitis. The exact line of treatment can be determined only after a physical examination. I suggest you 1. Apply cold pack on the heel and the surrounding areas 15 min, 2-3 times. 2. Do stretching exercise for calf and ankle. 3. Wear footwear at all the time. 4. If you are going for walks or any other form of exercise then take rest for a few days. 5. Avoid long standing, take frequent gaps in between activity. 6. Avoid wearing heels or absolutely flat footwear. 7. Do basic movement of ankle every 2-3 hour, (up & down, in & out, rotation clockwise and anticlockwise) 8. If the pain does not go with cold pack and exercise or keeps reoccurring then you should consider using an orthotic in your foot wear.
