Smoking mothers do affect the health of growing babies in their wombs, so does environmental pollution and low levels of oxygen in the blood. Regarding augmentation surgery, since implants are kept on the chest muscles, not on the glands, theoretically it does not affect lactation, but there is no research or date available about lactation after breast enlargement surgeries. Ask her to give up smoking, it is a small sacrifice made by a mother to be for the sake of baby.

there are good chances of her getting pregnant, but considering her age she might not be having good quality eggs although she is having enough eggs which is why it is taking time for her in getting pregnant. Have faith in your doctor and do as her advice, still if she does not conceive within 3-4 months then should think of IUI or IVF.

BHMS
Homeopath,
Problem regarding periods. What should I do?
Hello, Kindly explain me what type of Mentrual problem is there - are you getting periods frequently/ getting delayed/ much bleeding during the menses? Since how long you have been suffering from this problem? Any associated symptoms or complaints? Any medical condition do you have? Have you got your investigations done (if yes, share the reports with me)? Answer all these questions for proper diagnosis and proper treatment. Any nutritional deficiency can also lead to Menstrual problem/ irregularity. Take more of green vegetables, nuts, salads, seasonal fruits, yellow coloured veggies, milk & milk products, plenty of water and enough of sleep & rest. Take homoeopathic medication – Schwabe's Five Phos. And Alfaalfa Tonic – both thrice daily for 1 month. There after revert me back..take care.

No she is not pregnant and she cannot be pregnant as there are no chances of pregnancy while doing intercourse during periods and you guys have even not tried that also. So be relaxed and calm, your gf will get her periods soon as it is only the hormonal imbalance due to stress which is delaying her periods if she is not suffering from delayed menses problem -----------------

I have pox for 1 week. I noticed brownish vaginal discharge. Is it because of pox or is it something else? What should I do?

Brownish vaginal discharge should not be related to pox. If it persists I would advice you to consult a Gynaecologist.

I recently went through an abortion through suction method 20 days back. Can you tell me some medicines for getting relief from pain (as I get pain often). Medicines that my 2 doctors wrote are not worth working. I am having bleeding also. Suggest me some medicine to stop bleeding also.

Prolonged bleeding and pain after suction are mostly indication of retained products of conception in uterus you probably will have to get the d&c done again please consult the same gynaecologist who did suction on you again.

6 Quick and Handy Remedies To Treat Burns

6 Quick and Handy Remedies To Treat Burns
Home remedies to treat burns

A lot of pain, burning and hurt can be relieved by knowing properties of a few things from your kitchen. While minor burns and injuries can scare the wits out of anyone, young or old, the cure to relieving the pain and ensuring speedy healing lies in your cabinet.

Here are few things to do and to avoid:

1. No Ice on a Burn: ice is known to restrict the flow of blood to the skin. What you should do instead is put the burnt area immediately under running water. The idea is to cool the area. The water used should be cool and not ice cold.

2. Soothe with Aloevera. Aloevera is known to be a good remedy for burns and while it stops the pain, it also reduces the swelling and repairs the skin. Aloevera gel can be applied in sometime, but the gel should not be contaminated and should be clean.

3. Use Mint for Relief: After running cold water on the burnt area, pat it dry gently and apply a layer of crushed mint leaves, do not apply mint toothpaste over it. As toothpaste can get dried or stuck there and cause further injury. If mint leaves are used they should be clean and be thoroughly washed with water.

4. Try Tea Bags: If you have black tea bags at home, they can be of help. Moist wet, cooled tea bags, depending upon the area of the burnt skin and place over the area. Wrap with clean gauze. This can be used on slightly raw skin as it is astringent.

5. Puncture the Blisters: If there are blisters, never peel them off completely, you may puncture them to drain the fluid but do not remove the top layer of skin, as that serves as a natural protective dressing.

6. Apply Honey: A natural antibiotic, honey is used to prevent the burnt area from getting infected.

7. Rub Coconut Oil: Coconut oil has vitamin e and anti-bacterial properties which also stop the burnt area from getting infected. However, this should be used in healing phase when there are no blisters or they have started healing.

I have polycistic ovary syndrome. I am trying to get pregnant. But having irregular periods. Can you please tell me when to try for baby so that I get a positive report.

MBBS, MS OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY, DNB OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY, MRCOG PART1, PGDMLS

The main problem with pcod is absence of ovulation, leading to irregular cycles and difficulty in conceiving. It has strong corelation with weight, so keep your wt in control, and do regular exercise, and consult gynaec to start ovulation induction with follicular sonography, once ovulation happens you have chance of conceiving, and periods will be regular.
