You can try masturbating 3-4 hours before sex. It will make you last longer in bed. If you r overthinking about your ability to satisfy your partner, you need anxiolytic medicine before sex to overcome this. There are also medicines available in market to increase lasting time 4-5 times. U can consult me if further queries.

Dear lybrate user. Your are mistaking. Every rich man is not fairer with glowing face. Every middle class men are not skinny or darker in colour. Color and complexion depends on many factors like heredity and geographical area. It has nothing to do with drinks they take. Know right and stop worrying. Take care.

I don’t know if you are fully aware: you have mentioned that you are suffering from anxiety, which in itself can disturb your sleep. Instead of worrying too much about causes, why don’t you implement some of my suggestions, because they work effectively. The lack of sleep, i.e. Sleep for less than 6 hours per night, is directly linked to about 86 diseases! So let us first focus on that. In your case particularly, do not sleep during the day; don’t even lie down. Go for regular exercise (breathing through your nostrils only) at a fixed time (at about 6 am) every day, whether you sleep or not. You must develop this habit of sleeping by 10 pm latest every night and wake up at a uniform time by 6 am every morning, even if you do not get sleep. If you do not get sleep, just lie down and if you have a bed lamp (or you could get one) lie down and read something light but not exciting. Your eyes will tire and you will fall asleep. If you like you may also put on light and soft music with the sleep function on. Depending on whether you are a visual or auditory person, you may watch TV in a lying down position until you feel sleepy. Have a warm bath before going to bed (for some people a cold bath at night seems to induce sleep! If you are one of them, please do so). Place the head side of your bed in a North-South position. The room must be as dark as possible and there should be no electronic items that give off even a light LED glow. There must be ample ventilation in the room. Avoid strong odors, except lavender, on your body or in the room, or on your sheets and clothes. There should not be any live plants in your bedroom. Sleep with the lightest of clothes or without any clothing. When lying down to sleep, lie down on your left ear as much as possible. Do not sleep directly under an overhead fan. You must eat a good breakfast, a fairly light lunch, and an early dinner, which should be a very light meal. Whatever you eat in the other meals, have only a pure carbohydrate meal at night with any vegetables, and preferably before 8 pm. Do not drink much liquids after or near about dinner time. When lying down to sleep you may use the 4-7-8 breathing pattern of sleep inducement i.e. Breathe in for four counts through your nostril only, hold for 7 counts, and exhale with a whoosh sound, through your mouth only, for 8 counts. Repeat this four times in the morning and just before you sleep at night. If you know Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT (check this out either on YouTube or Google), then please practice this too for sleep induction. Self-hypnosis and slow relaxation techniques, at night will be tremendously useful. Acupuncture or acupressure will both be very useful too. Pray last thing at night before you sleep.

Hip Replacement Surgery - What Should You Know?

MBBS Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MS - Orthopaedics, Fellowship In Joint Replacement, Fellowship In Minimal Invasive Subvastus Knee Replacement

Hip Replacement Surgery - What Should You Know?

Mobility for a person is very important, and when you look through, the hip is a very important component to this. It connects the upper and lower parts of the body and helps in movement. It is a ball and socket joint, where the hip bone provides a socket, into which the upper part of the thighbone (femur) sits into, allowing for free movement.

Like any other human organ, the hip also is prone to damage. Be it natural ageing, infection, injury, or diseases, hip movement can be affected, leading to limited movement and increased pain and stiffness. For these people, being able to get back a hip which will allow them to be back on their feet is a boon for sure. It helps in relieving pain and improving mobility, almost giving people a second lease of life.

Reasons for hip replacement:

  1. With natural ageing, the hip joint can lose its ability to move, due to normal wear and tear of the hip and thigh bones
  2. Diseases of the hips (infectious or autoimmune) can also lead to hip replacement
  3. Injury or trauma is another major cause that requires hip replacement
  4. Joint problems, leading to repeated dislocations
  5. Tumours of the relevant bones

Understanding the procedure in detail

  1. The affected bones (whether diseases or worn out) are replaced with a prosthesis which is compatible with the normal body tissue.
  2. While some materials fuse to the natural bone, others do not and are simply placed as a separate unit
  3. This is a surgery which requires hospitalisation and stays for up to 5 days depending on patient’s overall health condition
  4. The entire procedure may take a couple of hours and is usually done under general anaesthesia
  5. An incision is made through the side of the hip
  6. Both the hip and the thigh joints are prepared, diseased tissue removed, re-shaped, etc. to make way for the prosthesis
  7. The prosthesis is introduced through the same incision and positioned into place
  8. As noted earlier, there are two types. The ones which fuse to the bone have pores in them into which normal bone eventually grows.
  9. The other variety is the cemented version, and a glue is used to keep it in place
  10. Most doctors now use a combination, that is cement a porous prosthesis, into which bone will grow, and the incisions are closed
  11. The patient stays in the hospital for 1 to 4 days depending on overall health
  12. Once discharged, infection and pain control are continued
  13. Exercise and physiotherapy play a major role in restoring normal function
  14. Weight management is also very important

If you stop wearing retainers then your treatment will relapse, kindly wear retainers on time, initially you will feel discomfort but as time goes it will adapt to you and you will be fine, my advise to you is you need to have patience since retainers takes time to adapt, initially you feel little discomfort and irritation. But you have to wear it.

Hello, I have a strong problem of body smell especially when I am out of my comfort zone. I feel irritated with my body odour. It comes from my armpit and due to this, no one wants to sit by my side. I put lot of deodorants and perfumes but this is a temporary solution. Please guide me how would I not get such odour?

B.Sc.(Hons), P.G.Dietetics
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
Hi , Body odor can be treated with over-the-counter medicines or by practicing good hygiene. Here are few home remedies for body odor. Baking Soda As baking soda helps absorb moisture from the skin, it can absorb sweat and reduce body odor. Plus, it kills bacteria and works like a natural deodorant. Mix one tablespoon each of baking soda and lemon juice. Apply it to your underarms and other body parts where you sweat excessively. Leave it on for a couple of minutes and wash it off with water; do not scrub. Then take a shower or bath. Do this once daily for a few weeks. Cut one fresh lemon into two halves. Rub one half of the lemon on your underarms. Make sure the juice gets onto your skin. Allow it to dry on its own, and then take your shower. Follow this remedy once daily until the odor is gone completely.
