Hi lybrate-user. These symptoms are indeed of early pregnancy. I suggest you do a pregnancy test at home and see. If negative then most likely it's either due to a urinary tract infection or hormonal disturbance. Let me know the result so that I can guide you further. All the best.

If pregnancy test is negative but if you have any doubt for pregnancy then get serum beta hcg test for completely sure about pregnancy. If you think there is no chance for pregnancy then it may be due to hormonal imbalanced some times.

I am 37 years old. I came to know recently that I have a subserosa uterine fibroid measuring 6*8*6.8 cm (vol: 170 cc). Is there anything I can do to reduce size without going surgery.

I am 37 years old. I came to know recently that I have a subserosa uterine fibroid measuring 6*8*6.8 cm (vol: 170 cc)...
Yes your fibroid which is a growth inside uterus can be treated homoeopathically before resorting to surgery as you know very well fibroids are caused by hormonal imbalance and the fact is no fibroid will become cancerous and most of the fibroids will disappear after menopause. Homoeopathic approach is to find the cause of this hormonal imbalance that it altered immunity and homoeopathic medicines will improve the altered immunity to balanced resulting in cure.

Hi, I am having irregular periods and I dint get my periods in the last 8 months and when I consulted doctor, they mentioned that I have PCOS and prescribed T-Regestrone for 3 days (3 times a day). I got my period after 5 days. 1. My doubt is, is there a chance of me conceiving this month (as its been long time I got my periods)? 2. And if I conceive will the baby be healthy? 3. Is there a chance to conceive if we take Regestrone tablets regularly to regularize my periods?

To clear your doubts you can get your urine checked for pregnancy and follow up with reports and you can conceive once regesterone tablet course is over and remember your ovulation day through multiple ultrasound so that you can plan sexual activity accordingly.

My mother is 50 year old. She has itching on her vagina from two days. What is thecreason behind this? How to prevent itching?

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS
Homeopath, Ahmedabad
Dear lybrate-user vaginal dryness is one of the most common symptoms of menopause and the itching can be because of that most probably. Mucous membrane of vagina produce a fluid or natural lubricant that keeps the vagina moist, elastic and strong. Oestrogens in the body encourage the vaginal tissue to produce this lubricant this helps to protect the vagina from bacterial and fungal infection. And oestrogens level fall during menopause so the opposite of above written is produced. What you need to do is apply oestrogens application, vaginal moisturizer for regular rehydration. Thank you.

Hi if she has missed periods means her menses did not come on due date than she can be a pregnant otherwise not. She should do urine pregnanacy test after 5 days of missed period to know weather she is a pregnant or not. If its comes negative than be relax nothing to worry thanks.

Taking 5-6 times contraceptive pills after unprotected intercourse, would it effect health and pregnancy in future?

Taking 5-6 times contraceptive pills after unprotected intercourse, would it effect health and pregnancy in future?
These pills are for emergency and not regular use as contraception they do disturb your natural hormonal balance and that can cause some health issues if you stop using them now and then try for pregnancy later may be after 6to 12 months then it should not cause any problem in pregnancy but immediately it may.

Hi lybrate-user My suggestion is that you should wait till you cross at least 6 weeks after your last periods. Once this period is over then you must go for scan to confirm the pregnancy status. B hcg evaluations by self are sometimes misleading as they need to be co related with your clinical parameters. Otherwise also, the confirmation of baby on imaging is most definite way of confirming pregnancy.

Infertility- Stress Could Be the Cause

Infertility- Stress Could Be the Cause

Have you been trying to have kids for a long time? Is inability and delay giving you sleepless nights?  It is important to know that Stress alone is a major factor for infertility.

Can Stress Have an Effect on Your Fertility?

If your mind and body is under stress your body is signaled to release a hormone - Adrenalin. This is a stress relieving hormone and gives your body the rush to face the stress. This hormone inhibits the utilization of the hormone Progesterone, which is essential for fertility. Also during stress Prolactin, another hormone, is relapsed which also interferes with infertility. Hence to conceive its essential that your anxiety levels are under control.

Chronic Stress also decreases libido:

Chronic stress may cause lack of libido as well as a decrease in general fertility. This has become such a common issue that they have created a name for it Stress Induced Reproductive Dysfunction. These facts are very important to consider if you have been trying to conceive with no results. It also shows that stress relief should be a part of every couple's conception plan even if they are going through IVF.

Ways to reduce stress & improve fertility:

If you are having difficulty to conceive, it's imperative that you get fertility tests done and also evaluate your life. Look out for the stress points that may be hindering a relationship. Remember defeating the stress may be the solution to your worries.

  • Reduce stress in your life: The issues in your life may be work or result related. You need to learn to balance your personal and professional life. The sooner you do it the better; after all you are preparing yourself to welcome a new born in your life.

  • Change your reactions: Get a hang of the situation and react accordingly. Over reaction to a situation can harm your body and mind. Stop bothering so much about the future.

  • Let few things be the way they are: Stop getting bothered about people. Remember by nature everything will fall in place. Let few things be the way they are.

  • Make it your habit to reduce stress: Call it an obsession or a practice, train your mind to choose options where there is less stress.

  • Sleep well: A good rest is essential for a healthy mind and body. Meditate, do yoga or seek counseling. Go for facials if it sooths you.

Please note that if your fertility reports are normal, then it's just a matter of time. Give you, your partner and your body time. There are certain medical complications or disorders that can also be responsible for infertility. Be calm and composed so that you are able to face the rough waters clearly with your partner.

My age is 23. I was diagnosed with a cyst formation. Epidydimal cyst of 7*8mm. Is there any homeopathic treatment for this instead of operation.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, DNB
Urologist, Bangalore
Epididymal cyst by itself means nothing, unless you are any additional problems, like unable to procreate, or pain, fever, etc. Hence there is no need for any treatment, let alone homeopathic.

Hi, will have to find out the exact cause in your case with all the details and symptoms to find a right homoeopathic medicine which could help him. Medication: take homoeopathic medicine - schwabe's damiaplant/ thrice daily for 4 weeks. Management: regular exercising keeps you fit and healthy, so don't forget to do it. Practice pranayam regularly for half an hour preferably in a garden early in the morning. Not to do these exercises within 4 hours after meals. One can have meals not within 15 minutes after finishing these exercises. These exercises are good for gaining and maintaining good health. Also, practice pelvic floor exercise or kegel exercise, consists of repeatedly contracting and relaxing the muscles that form part of the pelvic floor. In order to locate your pelvic muscles try to stop and begin the flow of urine as using the bathroom. You can perform kegel exercises with the empty bladder as exercising pelvic muscle with the full bladder might result in urinary tract infections.
