Summer is at its peak and the mercury level is rising by a notch every day. The scorching sun gives even more reasons to constantly hunt for some cooling and soothing foods which can comfort us. It is the time of year when you get dehydrated easily due to excess sweat and perspiration and that's the time when you want to reach out for something cold like sodas, beverages or even cold water. This is where we go wrong because anything extremely low in temperature can actually constrict our blood vessels and affect the heat loss process in our body. Here are a few tips you need to keep in mind to keep yourself cool:

1. Increase your water intake. In high humidity conditions, you do not sweat adequately due to which you cannot release heat efficiently from your body. That is the reason why you need to drink enough water at regular intervals even if you are not thirsty to cool your system.

2. Have eatables high in water content. Eat a lot of fresh fruits, raw salads and lightly spiced foods. Fruits and veggies are easy to digest and high in water content and hence help in hydration. Avoid fried and junk foods as they take time to digest and require a lot of water. Spicy foods can also increase body heat.

3. Grab naturally cooling drinks. Drink naturally cooling beverages like coconut water, lemon juice, buttermilk and sugarcane juice, etc. Rather than aerated soft drinks, caffeine, and alcoholic beverages as they contain sugar and other preservatives which act as diuretics and can cause loss of water from the body. You can add sabja (tulsi seeds) to drinks as it has a cooling effect on the body.

4. Have curd. Curd is excellent as it increases friendly bacteria in the gut and improves digestion and boosts immunity.

5. Include veggies in diet. Add veggies like cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, spinach, beet etc to add to the extra water in your diet.

6. Small meals: avoid heavy meals at one time as it can cause acidity and affect digestion. Rather eat small meals to feel light and keep your system active.

7. Don't forget raw mango. In the summer season, raw mango is a special fruit and is extremely good to prevent sunstrokes and weakness. Raw mango juice also known as aam panna can help balance electrolytes in the body. You can also have raw mango in any form like adding it in bhel, salads or making a dish out of it.

You can divide your day's meals as per regular timings like:

Breakfast: 2-3 fresh fruits (this can help to neutralize your stomach acids and make you feel light and active as they are natural sources of energy).

- Mid morning: a glass of buttermilk/ coconut water (to refresh you).
- Lunch: salads + 1-2 rotis + veggies + thin dals (you can add or subtract the rotis as per your appetite and requirement).
- Evening: fruit yoghurt/fruit smoothie (they are filling, nourishing and cooling).
- Dinner: stir fried veggies/ chilled soups + grilled chicken/ steamed fish/ low fat paneer/ tofu + jaljeera/ lemon juice (to keep your dinner light and help you wake up afresh).

I am 27 years old female. I got married before 1 year. My height is 5'4" and my weight is 59 kg. I have period problem from 5 years. My periods delayed 2 -3 months. I have done ultrasound and report comes as PCOD problem. Doctor gave me sicriptin and z and b tablet .But I have side effect of sicriptin bcoz of this I have gastric problem and vomiting. After that I take homeopathic medicines. I got regular period till months after that it stop again from 3 months. After 3 months I got spot bleeding only one day. Please give me some suggestions I am get stressed about it.

As indicated by Ayurveda, good digestion, solid agni (the metabolic flame), quality functioning of the liver and an adjusted endocrine framework result in strong immunity. Immunity of the human body is said to be associated to an entity called ojas which is believed to be the subtle and positive essence of kapha an aspect which provides the body with vigour, strength, immunity and vitality. The general notion is that stronger the Agni, healthier the ojas , although other factors play a major role too. Therefore, it becomes important to protect your ojas . Protection of 'ojas' is possible when you are able to live in the present with pure and complete awareness. A number of ways to promote ojas and thereby, develop your immunity are listed below:

Diet: Agni is bolstered by a dietary routine that minimizes refined sugars, stimulants and processed foods. The focus must be shifted to consumption of whole and healthy foods while maintaining a proper schedule. Inclusion of garlic, ginger, black pepper, long pepper, cinnamon, asafoetida in the diet is advised as it destroys poisons and bad bacteria, kindles Agni, promotes normal body temperature maintenance and eliminates the extra kapha.
Get adequate sleep: It is proven that sleep deprivation in humans can cause a total loss of the immune functions of the body. Thus it becomes mandatory to adopt a balanced sleeping schedule where the minimum duration to be regularly maintained is 8 hours.
Exercise: Appropriate exercise discharges collected strain, moves stagnant emotional and mental energy, enhances circulation, encourages proper elimination, improves digestion, supports sound sleep and promotes relaxation in the body. All these contribute to a healthy maintenance of the immune system. Adversely, improper exercise can prove to be damaging.
Meditation and yoga: The different types of Ayurvedic practices, each having a different set of benefits, are advised to be adapted so that you can sustain immunity. Some of these practices include yoga, pranayama, meditation, etc.
Herbal support: Different types of herbs in the Ayurvedic tradition, each having an affinity for a certain type of tissue, are capable of supporting the immune system. The advisable herbal supports include chyavanprash, turmeric, ginger, Tulsi, Shatavatri, Ashwagandha, turmeric, tulsi, trifla, giloy, Bronchial Support Herbal Syrup, Immune Support tablets, etc.
Regular detoxification: Regular detoxification (by Panchkarma procedures) of body as advised in Ayurveda , keeps basic body doshas ( Vats, pitta, kapha) in balance.
Rejuvenation therapy- After detoxification certain ayurvedic drugs, herbs are given for a long duration for rejuvenation, longevity of life, immunity boosting. It also prevents and cure diseases.

No, these medicines are not responsible. There may be another cause. First check pregnancy test in urine. If still no periods, consult gynaecologist.

Get a routine screening for thyroid, diabetes, thalasemia and viral markers as torch test, also get your hemoglobin check done, which will help you in management later during pregnancy.

It is due to hormone imbalance. So take proper diet. And multivitamin tablet, this will help. Visit a doctor to rule out any lump in breast or not. If required get ultrasound breast done.

I pilll is not like something of chocolate or coffee, that you can take whenever you wish. It has serious side effects. Pregnancy test has to be done in a particular time of period and i pill has also particular time. If you can't follow this, the treatment would be difficult. Just consult doctor and get the solution.

Hi lybrate-user sadness and strain of a new baby+your loss can all cause tremendous pressure on you both physically and mentally. There's a saying that if a birth and death occurs closely the soul doesn't leave and is actually reborn. Your father's blessing will always be there with you. Your child us totally dependant on you and that's a very large responsibility that makes all new moms cranky. Don't be hard on yourself. Have a balanced diet, plenty of water and fluids mother's diet. Then she should have 1800 to 2200calorie perday yo breastfeed comfortably. She can have 5 portions of fruits whatever us seasonally available preferred during day time. Drink plenty of water 4 to 6 lper day. Water is important for hydration and good flow of milk. Apples, papaya, my samba, banana are all good. Ask her to have dry fruits few pieces twice a day. (almond+kishmish) plenty of green veggies. Good protein source with each meal (no soya). Additional 550 calorie more than your regular diet. Extra protein of at least 12 to 18 gram +50 gram of normal protein. Daal, chana iron+calcium/vitd3supplements. This is the general plan for a more detailed plan. I would need your bodyweight and height work level (sedentary/working) regular diet that you have tests. Cbc with esr serum calcium and 25 (oh) vitd3 levels sleep when baby sleeps. Meditate for 10 minutes do something you love everyday pray things will get better hope this helps.

Mastubation causes addiction and dependance to it and in the long run a person keeps himself aloof from the public and also gets addicted to porn videos and also gets irritated very easily and whenever he gets married he does not enjoy the real sex with his wife which leads to conflict between the two and hence don't mastubate.

These medicines have nothing to do with your low Hb levels. Therefore continue with them as advised by your Physician. I would advice you to take iron supplements to increase your iron levels. Also take food like fish, chicken and green leafy vegetables, bananas that are rich sources of iron.
