I'm 18 years old and suffering from pcos since 4 years . I ws on medications but it didn't work out. It only showed temporary results. So I thought to give a try to natural remedies. While searching I got to know apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, licorice , flaxseed, fenugreek and other stuffs. And avoid dairy and soy products. So I want to know whether these things are really beneficial for curing pcos and hairfall caused due to it? Also can you please list out what should I eat and avoid. And should I consider these remedies? Can you suggest what test should I do to check hormone level.

Hello, lybrate-user, foods that you have mentioned, are all healthy and nutritious foods items. You may add them in your diet, but you have to know how and how much. And this brings you to the point where you wanted to know what you can eat and avoid. To suppress pcos you need to maintain your body weight. And to do that you need a customized diet chart that will prescribe you what to eat, how and how much, according to your height, weight, body functions and physical activity. Hence I would like to recommend you to consult with a dietician personally or online. And as per the tests you can do prolactin test.

Yes you can take all types of fruits and vegetables during pregnancy. But you should avoid unripe papaya and citrus fruits as it can cause acidity. Coconut water is healthy. U can take it.

Some times the periods get delayed for unknown reason. Unless proved other wise i. E. Unless the patient is checked and pregnancy is confirmed, every lady with delayed menses is not pregnant. But is she is pregnant and diagnosed so, and if she starts bleeding, there is a possibility of either she aborting or having an ectopic pregnancy. Better get her checked at least by a sonography.

Dear user. It is still debated and satisfactory confirmation answer never given. On a conclusion, the precum could have one or two drops of semen and therefore there could be sperm cells. Could not be so certain too. Take care.

Morning After Pill - Understanding the Effects and Risks Associated with It

Morning After Pill - Understanding the Effects and Risks Associated with It

Morning after pill is an emergency form of contraception. It is a type of birth control which can prevent unwanted pregnancy which is a potential risk after unprotected sexual intercourse. The typical name, “morning after pill”, is on account of the fact that it is usually taken on the morning after you have had unprotected sex the earlier night.

How does it work?

It primarily works by inhibiting or delaying ovulation. It does not cause abortion, but merely stops ovulation temporarily and thus, prevents fertilization of the egg with the sperm. It is required to be taken within 72 hours or 3 days after having unsafe sex for it to work effectively, but the sooner you take it, the better it is.

Risks associated with the Morning after Pill

Although the prospect of using this pill seems very useful and handy, there are risks associated with it as well.

  1. It has temporary side effects such as nausea, headache, dizziness, lower abdominal pain or cramps.

  2. It is not a reliable form of birth control like condoms, copper-Ts or IUDs as you might still get pregnant.

  3. It can lead to bleeding between your periods or heavy menstrual bleeding can be experienced. It can even make your menstrual cycle irregular.

  4. In serious cases, it can even lead to cerebral haemorrhage (bleeding inside the brain) and cerebral thrombosis (formation of clots in the brain).

  5. It does not protect you from any sort of STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) or STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection).

  6. It can even lead to hormonal imbalances if taken on a regular basis as it can interfere with your regular estrogen and progesterone levels.

  7. If taken multiple times, it can even affect your fertility in the future as it can alter the pH levels of your uterus.

  8. It is an emergency contraceptive and not recommended for routine use.

Your FSH level is good. but the LH is high, in assessing the possibility of PCos we use the lh:fsh ratio. in your case its high due to high levels of LH. the best available treatment is to give oestrogene progesterone combination to try to regulate the lh levels. you need to take the tab krimson 35 which is a combination of oestrogen and progestin for some months hoping body will regulate the lh levels and regulate your periods, which will help in relieving the cysts in the ovary. Its only time consuming and every thing will be alright. Good luck
