Hello, I am 21 years old. My knees cracks and pops a lot when I squat. It started almost an year ago when I started running on regular basis. It first started in the left knee and know from last two weeks I am experiencing this in my right knee. There is no pain in right knee but a little bit of itching type pain which is very slight. I don't know what is happening to my knees. Is it something to worry about. Please explain?

I think the way of your exercise doing is wrong ,do it in proper technique and position. Avoid complete bending of your knees while lower body exercises to avoid over lode on your knee joint ligaments .for more clarification come to private consultation.

Hallo lybrate-user. If you had dislocation 3 year back. It is important to know details of injury. Because the way of injury help to give an idea about the structures which can be involved in the injury. What I think is you had a ligament injury at that time which was given less attention. This could trigger the pain in long run. Best way to improve joint stability is to have soup of goat meat. If you are veg you can have sprouts soup. Include protein foods daily. Also apply oil do massage daily.

Hi, Take tab. Shallaki 400 mg 1-2 tabs 3 times a day depending on the severity of the pain. Take Balarista 2tsf 3 times a day, mixed with equal quantity of water and Maharasnadi Khadha 2 tsf 3 times a day, mixed with equal quantity of water. Apply Rumalaya liniment to the affected joints and massage in circular motion for 10-15 mins and then take hot water fomentation. Avoid potatoes, sweet potatoes, sweet pumpkin, peas, channa, recently harvested rice, jackfruit, etc. Which aggrevate the pain. You can even undergo physio- therapy for 10-15 days.

Sir, hi. I slipped from the stairs of my house and got injured. We waited till the morning and go to a doctor nearby our house who is a bone and joint specialist Dr. Gagan deep. He started the treatment on 5th march'15 by immediately putting the plaster after an x-ray. Another x-ray was done by him after two days i. E. On 17th march'15 and had asked me to come after 45 days. On 20th april'15 he removed the plaster after another x-ray saying that now the bone is perfect. But I was not able to walk properly and the swelling persisted. We decided to take a second opinion. My friend then took him to Dr. Avasthi (ortho). That doctor clearly said that it was a day 1 surgery case and now also surgery is the only solution. One of my friend took me to a doctor Dr (physiotherapist). He also said that it was a clear case of day 1 surgery but we can cure it through physiotherapy. He suggested the following treatment: pneumatic compression walking brace and ambulatory training for the same. Waiting for early reply. Regards.

प्रत्येक युवक की यह तमन्ना होती है कि उसकी भुजाएँ बलिष्ठ हों और चेहरे से ज्यादा आकर्षण पूरे शरीर में दिखे। इसके लिए वे तरह-तरह के व्यायाम करते हैं और अत्याधुनिक मशीनी सुविधाओं से सज्जित जिम में भी जाते हैं। मगर क्या आप जानते हैं कि मजबूत भुजाएँ और बलिष्ठ शरीर के लिए कैल्शियम का कितना महत्व है?

आइए देखते हैं हमारे भोजन मे यह किस तरह से मिलता है और शरीर को मजबूती प्रदान करता है। इसके महत्व को आमतौर पर सभी माताएँ जानती हैं। बच्चों को दिन में दो-तीन बार जबरन दूध पिलाने वाली आज की माताएँ जानती हैं कि कैल्शियम उसकी बढ़ती हड्डियों के लिए कितना जरूरी है। वहीं पुराने समय की या कम पढ़ी-लिखी ग्रामीण माताएँ भी इतना तो अवश्य जानती थीं कि दूध पीने से बच्चे का डील-डौल व कद बढ़ता है। यह बच्चे को चुस्त व बलिष्ठ भी बनाता है। भले ही उन्हें दूध में पाए जाने वाले अनमोल कैल्शियम का ज्ञान न हो, जो बच्चों की हड्डियों, दाँतों के स्वरूप, उनके आकार व उन्हें स्वस्थ व मजबूत बनाने में अति सहायक सिद्ध हुआ है। इसी कैल्शियम की निरंतर कमी के कारण बच्चों के दाँत, हड्डियाँ व शरीर कमजोर हो जाते हैं।

'आयुर्वेद चिकित्सा पद्धति' में भी कैल्शियम का बड़ा महत्व है। कैल्शियम को कमजोर व पतली हड्डियों को मजबूत करने, दिल की कमजोरी, गुर्दे की पथरियों को नष्ट करने और महिलाओं के मासिक धर्म से संबंधित रोगों के उपचार में लाभकारी पाया गया है।
इसलिए हमें प्रतिदिन कैल्शियम तत्व निम्न रूप से लेना चाहिए-
• गर्भवती व दूध पिलाने वाली महिलाओं के लिए 1200 मिलीग्राम।
• 6 मास से छोटे बच्चों के लिए 400 मिलीग्राम।
• 6 मास से 1 वर्ष के बच्चों के लिए 600 मिलीग्राम।
• 1 वर्ष से 10 वर्ष की आयु के बच्चों के लिए 800 मिलीग्राम।
• 11 वर्ष से ऊपर सभी आयु वर्ग के लिए 1200 मिलीग्राम।

दैनिक भोजन में हमें कुछ पदार्थों से कैल्शियम तत्व मिल सकता है जैसे पनीर, सूखी मछली, राजमा, दही, गरी गोला, सोयाबीन आदि। इसी प्रकार दूध एक गिलास (गाय) से 260 मिलीग्राम, दूध एक गिलास (भैंस) से 410 मिलीग्राम कैल्शियम मिलता है। प्रेशर कुकर में पकाए गए चावल, मोटे आटे की रोटी से हमें काफी कैल्शियम मिल सकता है। कैल्शियम उचित मात्रा में खाने से हमारी बुद्धि प्रखर होती है और तर्क शक्ति भी बढ़ती है। हरी पत्तेदार सब्जियों में भी यह तत्व पाया जाता है

Hello start physiotherapy treatment and learn posture care/ spine exercise. Meanwhile take few precautions. 1) take hot water fomentation for 20 min. At every 3hrs. Interval. 2) do not lift heavy weights or twist your spine 3) do not wear high heals do not ignore your back pain and do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Best wishes.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hi I can understand your problem. For pain and swelling apply cold pack for 20 min. Thrice a day for 5 days. There are various reasons for shoulder and neck pain and there are different non surgical treatment options for same in physiotherapy. Get yourself checked with a physiotherapist for a detailed postural assessment. Forward bending, slouched sitting, unsupported sitting posture for prolonged duration can lead to backache. Long working hours, abnormal sleep-wake pattern can also lead to backache. So, check whether your postural habits have lead to this problem. You can change your sitting posture- to supported sitting. You can also avoid bending forward to avoid backache. And consult a rheumatologist, if the pain doesn't subside with postural correction.

It may have to be further investigated. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days,then contact me again.
