Dear Please visit a good Oral Surgeon (a specialist dental surgeon) or any good medical or dental college or institute to first get the diagnosis (reason) of your condition. Please do not try to vague ideas to treat yourself, as until the cause is known there would be no treatment. This can be simple dehydration or may be the starting of some serious disease. I am not trying to scare you, just that I want you to know the cause of this, which may be insignificant also. For the time being take lots of water to keep your body hydrated. Good Luck, God Bless and Take Care.

I am going in for silver filling. How can it affect my oral health further?

Mr. aditya silver filling was the best of old days...but now with changing concepts u should prefer tooth coloured restorations... Some disadvantages of silver filling are: 1. It contains mercury which is poison for our body. 2. It bonds to tooth mechanically that means v have to give a proper shape to the cavity for silver filling which leads to more loss of your healthy tooth structure.. 3. As silver alloy is metal, and our oral cavity contains saliva so it can lead to rusting in filling leading to deterioration of filling margin which furthur leads to caries below filling, known as secondary caries. 4. Discoloration of tooth Now a days there are very gud materials available for filling u shud go with glass ionomer cement or composite filling.

If your gums and bone supporting your teeth are already healthy, keeping them that way is simple. Great home care. Daily brushing and flossing to remove bacteria and plaque can easily maintain oral health.

How Can I Prevent My Gum From Bleeding?
Bleeding gums are usually indicative of advancing gum disease. This usually can be corrected by a professional cleaning of the teeth. Subsequently, you can maintain gum health by appropriate home care as suggested by your dentist, and maintaining a regular follow up with your dentist. In rare cases, bleeding gums may be caused by an underlying systemic or bleeding disorder. If so, the same maybe identfied during a professional health evaluation. In either case you need to see a dentist for a check up so the appropriate treatment options maybe suggested.

Saving Your Child's Teeth :

Having good non decayed milk teeth with spacing between them is good for the child. There is a probability that if there are no spaces between milk teeth ( before 6 years of age) - the chances of having irregular teeth become more later on when the permanent teeth erupt. If there is crowding/ irregularity on the eruption of permanent teeth, it is better to show it to a Pedodontist ( Child Dental Specialist), by 7 to 8 yeras of age - who will help you and the child get the teeth into alignment without having to go through braces later on. This way there will be less chances of decay in child's milk and permanent teeth.

5 Reasons That Cause Plaque

MDS(Prosthodontist), BDS
Dentist
Ask Free Question
Plaque is a film that forms over the teeth. This film is sticky in nature and it is also colorless. It is formed due the presence of bacteria and materials secreted by the bacteria. Plaque has the potential to damage the enamel of the tooth. If plaque is not treated within a reasonable amount of time, then it becomes hard in texture and causes even more damage.

Reasons that cause plaque:

1. Failure to brush every day: This is the chief reason behind the formation of plaque. Teeth must be brushed twice every day in order to keep them clean and healthy. If food particles remain stuck in the groves of the teeth, they can lead to many problems, like cavities and plaque. Each area of the teeth should be cleaned with a suitable toothbrush. The insides of the teeth should not be neglected.

2. Failure to floss every day: Flossing is unfortunately not so common in India. Brushing helps to keep the teeth clean overall but it does not reach some of the spaces between the teeth. Flossing is therefore required to make sure that the plaque on the gum line and other problematic areas are removed.

3. Excessive consumption of sweet and sugary food: Foods like cakes, muffins, sweetmeats, cold drinks, ice creams etc contain carbohydrates which the bacteria tend to feed on. In the process of creating the film of plaque, they turn the sugar into acid, which causes damage to the tooth. Such foods should, therefore, be avoided as they cause plaque.

4. Avoiding natural foods that improve teeth: There are many natural foods which keep teeth healthy. Failing to include such foods in one's diet could lead to the formation of plaque. Fruits and vegetables like guava or carrots can serve this purpose.

5. Failing to visit the dentist regularly: Since dentists are experts when it comes to taking care of death, everyone should make sure to get dental checkups regularly. Even if one flosses and brushes regularly, plaque may still form. A dentist should be consulted regularly to check if any such formation has occurred. Failure to this may cause the formation of even more plaque and more damage.

Hi doctor. I am having teeth pain since last month what to do.
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need root canal treatment. Until then apply clove oil on the decayed tooth. Rinse frequently with mouth wash. Advise c. Amox 500mg 1-1-1, thrice daily, t. Metrogyl 400mg 1-1-1, thrice daily, t. Imol 1-1-1, thrice daily (contraindicated in conditions with gastric ulcer, asthma, wheezing, allergy), c. Becosules 1-0-0 once daily all for 3 days only. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Wisdom tooth does take time to erupt. You try Gumtone Powder rubbing on it , it is harmless even if you swallow a bit. You can apply clove oil or eat cloves as it is , take a pain killer. Wait and watch for few more days before you take a decision.
