Hi Shefali, delayed period could be due to stress or hormonal imbalance as she is known case of PCOD. If you had sex in fertile period in spite of protection pregnancy can occur in less than 5%

T3 (Total T3) and T4 (total T4) levels are normally elevated in pregnancy. Hence nothing to worry. Hence it is free T4 estimation and not total T4 estimation which is recommended in pregnancy. Your TSH is normal. To remove your anxiety please get your free T4 and TSH tested and I am sure they will come normal.

Dietary Fats - Essential for Health

Not all fats are bad for you. Dietary fat is the important key to have good health. All you need to do is eat the right amount.

How fat functions
Fat is a macronutrient that provides calories and energy to the body. Primary function is that it's an energy reserve stored in adipose tissues. If you work out, your body first uses carbohydrates and then fat.
Good dietary fat can be obtained from butter, ghee and oils. Other sources are unprocessed nuts and seeds, for example, almonds, pistachios and walnuts. Other amazing natural sources of fat are olives, avocados and coconuts.

Essence of dietary fat
1. Fats are an excellent source of energy.
2. Fats containing coconut oil help in weight loss. Good fats can increase the process of fat burning and reduce unhealthy cravings, preventing unhealthy fat storage.
3. If you are underweight, good fats are helpful to gain weight.
4. Fats maintain the body temperature.
5. Fats save your excess protein that may be used as fuel.
6. Fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins a, d, e and k) are absorbed in the body with the help of healthy fats.

Remember that vitamin a is very important for vision.
1. Interestingly, fats are considered as lubricant, preventing dryness and dehydration.
2. Healthy fats protect the body from experiencing inflammation, improving immunity.
3. Cell membranes as well as hormones need healthy fats. Fat is required for the overall metabolism of insulin, regulating healthy blood sugar levels.
4. Caprylic acid in fat acts as antiviral substance, while lauric acid has anti-bacterial effects.
5. If you want to lower your cholesterol level, opt for foods with palmitic and stearic acid.
6. Butyric acid may help in the reduction of risk of cancer.
7. Certain fats such as ghee or castor oil give lubrication to the colon. This supports digestion and the elimination process.
8. Oils have a property to act as a carrier of medicine and also carry herbs effectively to the preferred organ or any tissue.
9. Pregnant women should have fats as these are a brilliant source of food helping in the development of the child's brain.
10. Healthy fats indorse stamina and elasticity. This act interestingly for those who work out or even for those who work for long shifts in their jobs demanding physical work.
11. Good fats boost cognition, memory as well as happiness. These help in the improvement of mental functions and your learning abilities.

Therefore, a balanced amount of fat is equally important for your body as that of other elements. Hence, eat right and stay healthy.

Expert Advice on How To Save Your Hair this Holi. #HappyHoli

Look after your hair this Holi in these 3 effective ways

Holi is the ever exuberant festival of colors where everyone indulges in fun and frolic. Traditionally played with natural colors derived from flowers, Holi is now celebrated with harmful, toxic and inorganic colors that can really leave you with ruined hair and skin post celebration. These colors comprise of dyes, chemicals, glass powder and metals such as mica - all of which have extremely harmful effects on your skin and hair.

The colors used during Holi can cause your hair to become dull and brittle and may even induce a condition known as acute irritant contact dermatitis, which causes redness, irritation and burning of the scalp area.

Follow these tips to take care of your hair and scalp as you enjoy the festival.

1.Oil your hair

Apply oil to your hair about an hour before you play Holi to maximize the penetration of the oil into the scalp. Oil prevents the color from settling down into your hair, thus, making it easier to remove later on. It also acts as a shield by providing protection from chemicals and dirt, and can help in preventing your hair from becoming dry and frizzy due to prolonged exposure to colors and the sun.

2.Cover your tresses

Tie your hair up in a bun or ponytail to minimize its contact with harmful colors. If possible, cover your hair with a scarf or shower cap to protect it from the damage.

3.Wash your hair the right way

Thoroughly rinse your hair with plain water to get rid of dirt, dry colors, chemicals and the mica particles contained in it. After that, apply a mild shampoo on your hair, gently massaging your hair and scalp and leave it in for about 10 minutes. This will help in extracting and dissolving all the dust and colors stuck to your hair and scalp. Rinse out the shampoo and apply a rich conditioner to replenish the oil and moisture that have been stripped away by the chemicals. If your hair is still dry and lifeless, oil it overnight after Holi, as well. Applying hair masks is also a good idea to help your mane regain its former glory.

For easy delivery, I advise you to do meditation for mental strength by doing slow and deep breathing relaxation exercises in the morning. Take proper balanced vegetarian diet. Take 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. Avoid garlic and red chilly at home and avoid non veg and eggs.

Am I ttc from 1 yr. Today I have started follicular study and Dr. found small myoma measuring 0.62*0.52. please tell ...
0.6 and 0.5 are too small a measurements to be of any consequence. Many a times routine sonography reveals small fibroids, and if they do not change the inner contour of the uterus, then they are mostly" harmless" but there have been reports of patients aborting and in such cases, even if fibroids are small, the abortion is blamed on them! but overall, carry on your follicular studies and be relaxed. These measurements are so small that they cannot possibly harm your chances of fertility. Infact stress and worry would harm more. So be relaxed and stop worrying.

A septate uterus is a congenital condition in which a thin membrane called a septum divides the uterus, either partially or completely. While the condition does not affect a woman’s ability to conceive, it can impact a pregnancy’s outcome. There is a higher risk of first- and second-trimester pregnancy loss with septate uterus. There is also an increased risk of preterm labor. So, Yes you need to remove the septa if you are planning for conceiving. Get hysteroscopy done to remove the septa.
